3:19 quick note - letting Radovid live is the only way to keep all Dijkstra, Roche , Ves and Thaler alive
@galanonim8695 ай бұрын
The number of analogies in the bad ending - the figure of a werewolf who is trapped in the body of a monster, a trapped she-wolf in a trap - images that reflect Geralt's fate. Plus the figure of a bird (Swallow? Zirael?) that flies away in the background + a painting in the Witch's cottage. Man, that's a storytelling on next level.

Some ansers to your questions: - How can one let Radovid alive? 2 reasons: If you really RPG as book-Geralt, you probably have to let him live as book-Geralt would not meddle in politics and would not take part in the assassination of a king. Second reason is that even if you want to kill him in principle, this quest ("Reason of State") can easily be missed, if you accidentally fail one of the side quests that lead towards it. (For example if you fail to find Thaler) - Second ending: You were asking yourself whether the player took the money from Emhyr. The answer is no; the first flashback (which you did not remember) is from the visit in Viszima. It shows Ciri happy, because Geralt refused the money. But Ciri becomes an empress, if she lives (3 of 5 decisions concerning her are "good") AND you visit Emhyr with her AND Nilfgaard wins the war (Djikstra and Radovid die). So you can either take or refuse the money, if enough of the other decisions regarding her self consciousness are correct.

I don't know if you know already, but when Geralt is putting the necklace on Ciri, that's at Avallac'h laboratory, that's what happens if you chose not to destroy his laboratory. Geralt tells Ciri to accept that she's special and to be proud of her blood (that necklace belonged to Lara Dorren). And to get the ending where Ciri goes to Nilfgaard and becomes the direct heiress to the throne, that actually happens if you visit Emhyr in Vizima before visiting Aard Cerbin (Bald Mountain) to kill the Crones and Imlerith (I don't know if you remember that when Ciri tells you to go to Aard Cerbin you have to chose between accepting or going to Vizima first). That small decision is what changes wether she becomes a witcher or empress.

Empress ending is my favourite, because it's what I would want for my daughter, born a princess, rather than spending her life fighting monsters and living in swamps. It's generally known as the 'bittersweet ending' because, yes, it hurts to see her go but you know it's for the best.

You just have to take her to Emhir to get this ending. I completed the game last week. Took her to emhir, didn't take money, let her speak to philipa alone, trashed Avallach's lab, took her to the guys grave and still got this ending. I reloaded an earlier save and the only change I made was not taking her to Emhir.

The first time I played the witcher I got the bad ending. After playing for weeks that ending hit me like a truck. espescially since the DLC will have dialogue changed if ciri dies. Seeing geralt give up and surrender to death was heartbreaking

So with the worst ending, I believe that if Ciri survived the main reason she doesn't return to Geralt is a combination of guilt, fear, shame, and doubt. She likely doesn't believe Geralt could comfort her and doesn't have the confidence to face him or any of her family after failing to save the world. So she ran, unable to face herself or her family.

I have always interpreted this ending as Ciri not coming back because she thinks she has no reason and no one to come back to. She needed support, comfort and understanding where in the bad ending Geralt lets her down and is not the same Geralt for her as he used to be and how she remembered him. ex. selling her to Emhyr, not going with her to Skjall's grave or forcing her to wear a necklace that is connected with older blood and fate that she would get rid of if only she could

The Nilfgard ending is my personal favourite. I feel like Sabkowski would have gone for that ending as well. It's a pretty perfect bittersweet ending that clearly mirrors the end of the book series. In the books, Ciri as a teenager chooses to go with Geralt and Yennefer rather than Nilfgard, here as a woman grown she chooses the reverse knowing she can make a real difference as Empress.

It's weird how we've accepted the concept of "good endings" and "bad endings" considering it's purely subjective. These are the "bad endings". I got the third with Ciri dying. As far as I'm concerned that's the "good ending". But for you, it's the "bad ending". Ciri was awful. Basically a wannabe Yennifer who was also awful. I'm glad she died, shame she didn't take Yen with her.

If you're interested, there's a video by xLetalis that examines the worst ending even further. In short, the devs hinted at there being an undiscovered secret in the worst ending. The community did some digging and found a tapestry that showed a swallow leaving the tower. It suggests that Ciri survived the worst ending, but just chose not to go back to Geralt, which makes it even sadder. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6qzfp-qec-HfNk
