Inside the NBA works for a few reasons. Chemistry is one, and simply cannot be recreated. Also, they will say it as they see it. ESPN's talking head shows are promos for their games and affiliated leagues. That is why the fans love Inside. Not all 30 teams are great or bound to be great. Not every coach is a genius. Not every good player is a star, or has what it takes to be one. It is ok to say it, and it is something ESPN has never figured out on its studio shows.

Charles Kenny and Shaq work one night a week. ESPN is showing 2 to 3 games a week. So we are still going to get the trash ESPN studio show at least once a week before the playoffs start. At least we get Inside the NBA during the Finals.

Charles has said many times he wouldn’t go to ESPN and get worked like a dog. So we’ll see if they try to overwork him because I’m already seeing “alt cast” talk. Also, it will be very surprising if ESPN just lets “Inside the NBA” continue to do exactly what they were doing. It would not surprise me if ESPN meddles and messes up the show’s chemistry somehow.

Between $32 - 64 million. That’s what ESPN just paid for inside the NBA. They’re saying “no money exchanged” but big 12/espn deal was $2.28b for 6. So 377m/ yr. 32m/mo 28 games traded between the two. So either that’s one or two months worth of games so TL:DR ESPN didn’t pay Warner for inside the NBA but in missed revenue alone for ESPN you’re looking at between 32-64 million is what inside the NBA is worth to them.

I will give him some credit for voicing his discontent with TNT losing the show and it possibly being eliminated. He spoke on behalf of the staff and people behind the scenes possibly losing their jobs. Now this changes things. Most of that staff get to keep their jobs. Ernie who is contracted with Turner Sports gets to keep his job right where it is and still work on "Inside The NBA."

The nba needs a new commissioner and a whole new marketing team. They are killing the league slowly. NFL will follow with weaker calls and making “player safety” the first concern. Which it should be. But it will cause tons of regular fans that watch for the big hits or the high flying posters of the past. It will 100000% demolish the sports industry as a whole.
