Appreciate what you said at the end Seb. I feel like there's a lot of gatekeepers in the weightlifting community, especially compared to other strength sports. If I was a powerlifter who didn't compete, no one would say anything. Why is it that there's always this heated discussion about drug use, anti-doping, and the state of weightlifting whenever I'm mentioned when the likes of Tian Tao, Lasha, and 70% of people who you cover on your show are actively breaking the rules of anti-doping and competing while being on drugs? Why don't I see hatred towards those lifters? I'm not saying people should like me, but they should at least be consistent with their anti-doping beliefs. I have never broken the rules, while people praise Russian weightlifters who were part of state-sponsored doping and broke anti-doping rules several times.

Yeah, it's pretty open and shut. People love playing the game of semantics only because they want to take away what someone else has done in order to make themselves feel better about where their progress is currently at. What's wrong with admitting that someone is better than you? If someone were to be a true sports(wo)man, they'd be able to recognize that - and give credit where it was due - whilst still training on their own to get as good as they could possibly get. You can do both.

I think he said somewhere that the reason he doesn't compete is that the playing field is not fair. And by that he means doping control, which is way harder in Western countries than in other places of the world. State-sponsored doping (at young age), IWF corruption, advanced PEDs. These are the things ie. Ireland cannot offer for him. And I 100% agree with him.

I don't compete because I'm against anti-doping and it's implementation worldwide.

To say a person is not a weightlifter because he or she doesn't compete is a mentality I don't think I've heard for other sports/hobbies. No one says a person who skateboards isn't a skateboarder just because they don't compete. No one says a person isn't a musician just because they don't compete (or even record or perform publicly). It's just a matter of doing the activity involved with some consistency. Gatekeeping on the grounds of whether the person competes just sounds like some elitist nonsense and especially seems absurd when talking about a person doing elite level lifts like Clarence.

I actually like the length of this video. There are times when I'm only interested in hearing one or two specific segments of your regular broadcasts, but since I don't know where they fall in the video, I wind up abandoning the effort just because I don't have time that day to watch the whole broadcast (this is not a criticism, it's time crunch on busy days). So, yup, I say more, please.

I will never understand how this man can be performing elite level lifts in random gyms and doesn't gather a crowd. Imagine an NBA all-star coming to a gym throwing down sick dunks and hitting 3-pointers from half court while people are playing pickup games, and no one stops to watch. Clarence is stupid strong. Unreal.

Answer to his question asked at 5:07 is he clean n jerk @5:41PM/AM and snatch @6:25PM/AM. Uh can tell by looking at the gym clock hanging on the wall.

clarence's strength is ridiculous, and the argument that he "isnt a weightlifter" is unbelievably naive to me. I tried clean and jerks for the first time yesterday, and i cant even jerk 50kg (73kg BW), so a 225kg clean and jerk to me is literally superhuman.

Because he's better at snatching, and therefore had more energy to hit 225 Cj which I think is a PR for him
