She ripped his wings off, much like Tyrael did to himself at the start of Diablo 3. It makes him "human" enough, that the spear through his back should leave him dead... if she allows it at that point. Heaven isn't responding, is silent... cause Heaven is dead most likely. It was certainly devastated enough after Diablo's assault on Heaven and then Malthael ransacking it himself. Chances are nothing was left beyond ghosts, and memories. Whether Lililth was aware of that or not is immaterial, like most demons she deals in lies and half truths at all times. Every bit of truth will always be twisted and mixed with lies, forming half truths. Both Lililth and Inarius in Diablo 4 come off as petty, whiny, brats. Overall the story for Diablo 4 is the weakest of the series and a sublime disappointment at best. The game play was better, but not by much and just as much not an improvement over Diablo 3, as Diablo 3 was a failure of improvement over Diablo 2. What was missing? Any real motivation or logical reason for the decisions the characters make. Mephisto is just about the only character in the game's story that makes any sense.
