A fan of Eivors is Alexia Evellyn from Brazil. She has the shaman drum, throat singing, loop pedal, goddess sound. Great acoustics in nature and rainforest ruins. Id say there is a good recorder and microphone.

As soon as I saw that you had reacted to this song, I clicled the link immediately. Eivor is incredible, and is the only other artist excepting Aurora whose music really moves me deep inside. Gullspunnin means "Spun in Gold" in English, and I think it speaks of loneliness. All the songs on Eivor's latest album "SEGL" which translates as "SAIL" are beautiful to hear. Thanks for reacting to a masterpiece by this incredible lady.

Hi Adam, I am also one of those people who started watching "The Last Kingdom" because of Eivor (and not other way around)! Can't wait to see Eivor live, cant wait to see Season 5 of "The Last Kingdom". Eivor and John Lunn also promised a new music for this new season... No idea what to recommend - I, potentially, could recommend everything starting from the 'Clickhaze' (Eivor's first band, late 90-ies - already, somewhere at the level of The Cranberries) - "Daylight - Clickhaze" - up to the "Segl"!

Well that was a great choice for the second reaction to that amazing voice. You can't go wrong really , though if you pick Trodlabundin where it is just her and a drum on the banks of one of the Norwegian fjords and is just spectacular, it will take you back to your Viking roots.

You need to do her Trollabundin- she does a different version each time she performs her. I would recommend her version with Copenhagen Records as it is a different style to this! Just her and her drum and about half way through, she does something else!

I am 78 and listen to minimum of 60 to 80 hours of music in all genres. NO VOICE CAN MATCH HERS AND NEVER HAS BEEN. NOT EVEN IN OPERA. I actually hadn't heard that one yet, so I am glad you didn't pause. For other Eivor, listen to Surrender (London solo sessions), Rain (stripped acoustic) and maybe the cover of hounds of love she did. I never thought I would have accepted someone else than Kate Bush singing that song, but she pulls it off. It's a music video,. though.

Back again. As a fan of Eivor, I have found that the overall reaction to Eivor is a huge exhale at the end of her songs/vids because you'll hold your breath listening and being entranced, and then finally let out your breath. Later, you'll start humming the melodies. Not many have that effect. Eivor is one. xx

I have had the great fortune of seeing her live 6 times now...in Norway, Iceland and Vancouver, and will be seeing her in her upcoming North American tour in Vancouver! So.....it's me again. I'm a bit puzzled when I see how few recommendations on other Eivør pieces I see here. After having been following you for some time, I'm fairly confident you'll love more of her music. So allow me to give you my recommendation on two of my personal favorites by her. The first being "Bridges". Her performance of this during her Torshavn live concert is just beautiful. Her vocal range and control is on full display here. The other one I'd like to recommend is "Mjörkaflókar". This one is EPIC as you would have put it. The whole arrangement and composition is just SO perfect. And again I'd suggest you take a look at her Torshavn live concert for this one. She just SHINES when live. By the way, both of these pieces are totally her own, both the lyrics and the music. She has been collaborating quite a bit with Marjun Syderbø Kjelnæs for lyrics; a famous Faroese author, in some of her songs. Her art is a deep rabbit hole similar to the huge echoing cave of Aurora. If you listen to one song, three more coming up to get to ... for a long time. my next suggestion would be 'Salt' live at the train warehouse. It's one of my favourite performances of her (out of so many incredible ones). Another recommendation for a new artists on the channel is 'London Grammar'. To be honest, I don't have found the vibe with their newest releases of the upcoming album, yet but their first 2 albums were outstanding and Hannah's voice is remarkable and haunting.
