Robert Meyer Burnett is someone who has ties into the movie industry. He actually worked some of the early X-Men films and Superman Returns. I know he’s been with Collider, Schmoes and John Campea. I would still recommend to take this with a grain of salt, but he did have a source that also confirmed that Dark Phoenix was going to be a disaster.

There are some great, GREAT ideas here. Tor Valum: he’s just Snoke. Rian killed snoke and they needed a new one. But the age and power harkens back to Vitiate, which isn’t bad. Plus the Emperor sensed a “dark presence” that even he thought might be the source of the dark side... that would make sense. Chewie flying an X-Wing; yes. Kylo vs Vader (and losing): hell yes. Coruscant and Mustafar: great idea Stealing a star destroyer: bitchin, let’s do it. Kylo NOT being redeemed, in an inversion of Vader: perfect. Could have been the lesson he learned in his cave fight against Vader- any feelings he might have had towards Rey, romantic or otherwise, hampered his power. He realizes this, and kills his emotional attachments, allowing him to finally embrace the dark side. I could even have accepted him being at or even above Vader’s level if they went this route, it would have made a good character through line. He’s been hampered by emotions this whole time. Luke harassing Ren and Rey: please. I’d love a good old fashioned roasting session from a ghost Luke lol, a proper Luke. Ending: mehhh... no. Not really a fan, no. Kylo killing reys parents: dumb, not impossible (If he’s ten years older or so, and she was like six, he’d have been 16, plenty old enough to kill as a Sith- Zannah did it at like six years old). I’d still have liked the Palpatine bloodline idea, just executed better. Perhaps her parents were the black sheep of the Palpatine family, and after the empire fell joined Luke. That way when Ren snapped they could have died with the rest of the Academy, and Luke would have had a good reason to wipe Reys memory and leave her somewhere safe- he’d lost faith. Knights of Ren: actually do something? Sweet. Oh, fixed lightsaber staff: actually I really like this idea, be a flip of Maul, but imagine a double bladed lightsaber in the hands of a Jedi and not a Sith. I’d have preferred to go with yellow though, not Anakins crystal... one I like seeing yellow blades in the mainstream, and two that’s one of the rites you must pass to become a true Jedi. Go find your own damned crystal lol

The set up sounds very intriguing, especially all the Vader stuff but the end is utter trash. Kylo Ren's redemption through his parents was handled perfectly in ROS imo. That made the character complete in every way.

blue_pearl_22 Kylo could have either been redeemed or not have been. His character arc would have worked either way, though I admit his rationale for being dark side was pretty weak- he didn’t believe in strength being the only thing in life, really. But either way, his real redemption was pretty good actually. One of the few things I liked about the film. I just wish we’d seen him more, we technically only got a few lines from Ben Solo ever. Either way, Vader v Kylo has just so much juice to a storyline... it can be Kylo loses and realizes that the way to be as great as Vader isn’t through emotions but through coldness, or it can be he loses and realizes that he never would match up, or isn’t willing to go as far (technically speaking, Vader DID kill his wife...), w/e. As much as I hate shallow fan service (emphasis on shallow), I would 100% accept his appearance in the movie. It’s a pity we didn’t get to see it. Also, imagine how savage a fight between two Sith would be. Vader and Kylo have fairly similar fighting styles (bruiser type, heavy strikes, etc) and close to same power. It’s like an up and coming boxer vs Mike Tyson- not easy, but not hard lol

He has already killed countless people, why would he care about a girl he has barely met and only has somewhat of a connection with? It makes much more sense for his parents that raised him to talk him through it after he was saved by his enemy. He is also seems less evil in the version we got, which would his redemption make even mores sense.

Here’s what could’ve been better: - Lucasfilm and Disney should done what Lord of the Rings did: they should’ve written the script for the entire trilogy a few years before shooting it. - Palpatine could’ve been teased as early as Episode 7, cause it’s so weird just having it like, “oh guys guess wot? New str wrs. Oh, yeah and palps is back too I guess”. (And what’s even worse is that in the opening creds, the very first words are “The dead speak!” which spoils palps’s return, so you’re just waiting for him to show up in the movie, instead of either thinking if he is or isn’t in the movie!) - I think they could’ve teased him at the end of either Episode 7 or 8, maybe with him doing his sith bowl magic maybe. (Plz share your ideas!) - More detail on how palps survived. (Waiting for “he could cheat death” comments) - No Kylo ren & Rey kissing - No Leia ghost - I think they could switched the Exegal (

That was a bare bones outline of it. Like some have said, still not perfect, but i do think it would have been a ton better than what we ended up with. Watched a stream with Burnett on it where he went over some of the actual scenes describing the action and dialogue. THe character development and story would have been hands down better. Luke gets fair treatment finally! Actual development for Rey, Finn, Rose! Funny scene with R2 and CP30 it just makes me sad Colin was let go x.x

The second livestream mentioned in a super chat at the end has more details on the second half, RMB explains a lot more of what happens on Mortis: the Han cameo, Rey's parents, her last name, the final battle between Rey and Kylo (Rey being blinded and Kylo losing his hand/some fingers, can't remember), Kylo is nearly beaten but sucked the Life Force from Rey (the 7000 Sith teaching him how to do it) but then Leia senses what he's doing and reaches out to him which makes him reach out and sacrifice himself to save Rey, and how Rey ascends into the non-Living Force (?) (by the sounds of it, it sounds like the realm Ezra entered in the last season of Rebels when he saved Ahsoka from Vader) where she meets Luke, Obi-Wan, and Yoda who give her a choice to give herself to the Force and die on Mortis or return to the living world, which she does to train new Jedi on a planet named after Modesto (where Lucas was born). Some of it sounds a bit janky but sounds more satisfying than TRoS's ending to be truthful. RMB's second stream is well worth a watch too as he provides more details throughout the script too, like how R2 and 3P0 are the ones to infiltrate the temple and how Lando owns a bar/casino that the FO frequent, so he's hesitant to help Leia fro business and because the last time they won a war it all ended with him serving the FO.

Palpatine specificity told Ani-kan to leave Obi-won. 1st Obi-Won dies Anikan becomes worst then Vader. 2nd Qui-Gon might be able reach Dooku and tell him to repent and that it was all trap. I think Palpatine didn't want that to happen. Dooku might be able to give the Jedi chance to disperse into outer rim & taking over the separatist forces after killing grievous really intensifying the rebellion.

I think that while it was cool to see Ben redeemed, it felt like just another uninspiring way to solve his character. I mean, his character arks is all similar to Vader without having a real reason to turn to the light side. From the scraps we can read it seems much better. Getting to see Jedi Temple on Coruscant connects to the previous movies better than getting Palpatine back via some forced hammy off-screen resurrection. It would be nice to see common folk's lives under FO's reign as opposite to just slides of planets cheering rebellion's victory at the end of ROS. Everything's in continuity with TLJ, too - no more backpedaling and retcons, one coherent trilogy. No mcguffin scavenger hunts, no idiotic ancient dagger that points to a place from about 30 years ago, no fake-off deaths that get reversed 5 mins later (chewbacca, Kylo, C3PO in ROS), broken lightsaber is incorporated into the story, and serves a purpose, Knights of Ren seem to have a much bigger presence, and a purpose, as well. Stealing a star destroyer with part of it's crew under a jedi mind trick could've been cool, too. Hard to say if Rey or Kylo had a decent character arc, since the details are sparse, but judging by the title, it would've been explored. All in all, I'm sure this aspect would be handled better than what we eventually got. The only downside i see is splitting the main cast again - guess there is just too many of them. In a way, then, it's good to see no new characters aside from 'master sith' and some FO admirals. There's no way they could do justice to all the old and new characters in Ep IX, anyway.

I'm just going to start this by saying I dont believe a fandom needs to agree to be civil, for example: I love your channel but I don't agree with a good amount of what you say. I've held off on saying anything in fear of becoming a pariah in a fandom I love very much...that being said...SPOILERS ahead. It says Kylo kills Reys parents at the behest of Snoke...meaning this would have obviously happened after his escape from Lukes Jedi Temple. This already feels 10x better than ROS( minus the Rose being a key character part). Episode 9 was really a rushed mess with too many plot holes and inconsistencies to brush aside. The action was great but so many problems I couldn't get past. I would have hated it but Chewy dying would have been a great emotional part of the movie...but like most parts of this movie...it was introduced, rushed and reversed almost instantly. This shows Rey finally having struggles with who and what she is which was VERY needed. I still think that Luke should have brought Rey to Ashoka to have her understand what true balance is and Reys path should have lead to her becoming a Grey. Between the teachings of Luke & Ashoka, we could have built a very clear and powerful narrative that the Jedi were so obsessed with following their strict code that it eventually blinded them from the true intentions of the force...TRUE BALANCE. Ashoka would have been the perfect teacher for Rey...it was clearly what they had intended with her, before they kept walking back all of her development. This movie was far too Disney, Finn and Poe were both introduced with great potential(FA) and eventually had their arcs destroyed for Rey to seem important and have her weak progression look decent in comparison. Daisy did great for the material she was given...Rey just dominates the screen in a negative way & is just an unstoppable force regardless of the fact that she started training later in life than any character EVER presented to us in any form of the canon. I am a writer myself & my favorite part of any story is character progression, it allows us to truly understand perspectives & immerse ourselves in a film unlike any other aspect. Every character (minus Kylo, but even he had some major problems) was extremely shallow and had most of their arcs cast aside in favor of fleeting action & pointless humor. They had a talented cast of actors (the best Star Wars has EVER seen) and threw it all away in favor of spectical. I have been a massive Star Wars fan my entire life and was even the inspiration for my writing career, but E9 did such a poor job that it ruined the entire trilogy for me. If I had the money I would fund them to reshoot the entire trilogy myself. I am honestly saddened because Star Wars has always been a beacon of hope in a terrible Hollywood for me, but I found myself so angry and confused for the entire movie and I dont feel like a true fan for hating that movie...which I know isn't the case but still...it hurts my soul to say that. I really like a lot of elements from this script. One thing I would definitely change would have been Tor Valum. I think it would have been so cool for the Palpatine holocron to send Kylo to Korriban and enter the old sith temples, maybe having exchanges with the essences of some ancient Sith from Old Republic times or even Darth Plagueis. The Maul droid and especially the battle with Vader would have been so epic to see. Also, one of my biggest gripes about Rise of Skywalker was the lack of screen time Mark Hammil got. He was terrific in Last Jedi despite his character getting really rough treatment, and I think it would have been great to see him simultaneously haunting Kylo and training Rey.

This is how it should have gone if palps lived: movie 1: palps is shown surviving after ROTJ, either saved by an apprentice/acolytes or transfers his consciousness into another body cylon style, OR shows him using some instant transmission ability to escape the death star...devises plans to return to power. Meanwhile Luke trains Leia and the two go thru the galaxy finding force sensitive kids to create their new jedi order. Palps has giant armada being built. Luke discovers an ancient jedi holocron with the knowledge to learn how to rematerialize yourself from a force ghost to a living being again or reincarnate dead sith. Movie 2: luke is older now training kylo and several others, rey is one of the children they found and has grown up with kylo, the two are very close. She is palps daughter, same mystery origins. kylo is corrupted by palps, kylo burns down the temple at end of the movie and is sent by palps to retrieve the holocron. He and kylo hope to revive Darth vader, but secretly kylo hopes to use it to save Rey, of who he has had visions of her death, much like Padme and anakin. We find out it was palps who gave kylo these visions. Luke continues Rey's training and they work to uncover the secret of the holocron. Movie 3: Rey is now fully trained, Luke and Rey are in intense training to understand the holocron, continually being interrupted by kylo's forces, who they gradually defeat one boss fight at a time. At some point KoR are able to get the holocron back to palps. Rey and co hunt down palps while fending off kylo and the knights of ren in a sequence of epic fight scenes. Kylo eventually turns to the light to sacrifice himself to save her somehow dramatically. She fights palps alone. Then enter all your favorite force ghosts as she is near defeat. palps drains kylo's body of his energy and is fully rejuvenated. Badass light saber duel ensues. Palps fends off their attacks and it looks like it's all over...but suddenly the force ghosts gather around rey when she gives the signal, they are going to perform the ritual contained in the holocron. As they join hands and send their energy through Rey, in a bright flash of electric storm someone appears through the blinding light... it's anakin's force ghost, and he is materializing into a living human! Before anyone can celebrate, Palpatine blows everyone back with a blast of lightning, raises kylo's body with the force, pulls out the holocron and pours the dark side through it into kylo's body...in a red and black flash, Vader's silhouette appears, we hear the breather, anakin's face goes to stone. Epic battle ensues between Rey, anakin and Vader. Palps joins in when vader is near defeat, more epic fighting, Rey is incapacitated, he fights palps with everything in an epic battle and defeats him with a triumphant high ground strike, dismembering him like obi wan did to vader, fulfilling the prophecy and bringing balance to the force. Anakin goes on with rey to rebuild the jedi. Palpatine and Skywalker reign again, this time for the light....Luke sacrifices himself in there somewhere maybe, leia also does cool stuff. Credits. Wheres my oscar?

Splash Young Why the Jedi were wrong was still 100% correct, Rey is a Jedi that saves Ben and they draw strength from bonds, that’s very much a Luke thing that would have been verboten in the Republic, she’s continuing the Jedi Order learning from the mistakes of the republic, and Luke’s mistakes. And the Legend of Luke Skywalker spread across the galaxy and allowed them to reforge the resistance from like 12 people on the falcon to a proper resistance in a year with new ships and new people, and when they put out the call for support this time THOUSANDS came, instead of literally everyone chickening out. The only thing TROS didn’t directly continue was Rey’s parentage, which yeah, was lame, but whatever.

I think this completely abandon’s Kylo’s current character position from the end of TLJ. Why would he seek another master or want to train as a Sith? If anything TROS is correct and if Kylo discovered another Sith lived he would go and try to kill them, not train under them. He JUST killed his master and declared himself supreme leader. No more Jedi, no more Sith, let the past die. And if it’s just some Sith that’s 7000 years old and completely retcons the rule of two Kylo would probably just _ignore_ them, as long as they aren’t a threat to Kylo’s “empire.”

It really does take the prequels and even clone wars into consideration with coruscant and mortis which was my biggest complaint about the movie, it totally ignored them. I’ve read the full script, it’s amazing. Kylo kills Tor Valum with the force ability he was taught (basically Force Drain). Epic fight on Morris, Rey is blinded. Kylo dies, Rey nearly does. She has a choice: become a force ghost, or remain in the realm of the living. She’s gone for a bit, then returns to where Rose and Finn had created a safe haven for force-sensitive kids. She plans on training them. The end.

I would love to have seen kylo actually rule the Galaxy for a little. A Skywalker ruling the Galaxy under the evil first order would've been cool to see. I personally loved TLJ it broke the carbon copy path that TFA started. It made sense Luke was bitter. Yoda was in the beginning in ESB. Luke represented the old Jedi, from the prequels, that became overconfident which eventually lead to their downfall. And, in EP 9, Luke would've accepted the light and do his best to restore balance again while communicating to Rey, as a proper teacher, and to kylo, as a beacon to the light. Something across those lines.

It’s so much better than what The Rise of Skywalker though, they missed so many opportunities with Luke, he should’ve never died in The Last Jedi, honestly this new trilogy was honestly average Sci-Fi films at best, I feel Colin Trevarrow is a true Star Wars fans and equals out what fans want and what a good Star Wars Movie is. They honestly should’ve began the new trilogy with a fully formed Jedi order, we’ve seen the Jedi go almost extinct before, we shouldn’t have had to watch that again, so many missed opportunities, this trilogy truly could’ve been epic, but it really wasn’t it was average, with very little rewatchable goosebump moments, whereas the prequels and the original Trilogy have so many!!

Having watched all The Clone Wars recently, and at the mention of Mortis in this, I think it would have been interesting to see it end with Rey being the embodiment of the light-side of the Force and Kylo being the dark. Similar to the Daughter and Son of Mortis. It could explain why they are so strong in the Force and the connection they share. And rather than them straight up replacing the old Gods, and if they actually made Rey a Skywalker, they could be the Granddaughter and Grandson with Anakin coming back to become the Grandfather and bring balance between the two. The problem with that though is there's probably a lot of people who don't watch the shows and would become extremely confused with all this "new" information to the movies.

Apart from Kylo killing Reys parents, it sounds pretty decent...it builds on the TLJ while having interesting moments that references the Star wars legacy. personally i think it sounds better than TRoS: bringing back the emperor ; sending our heroes on an videogamesque quest after artifacts and then killing the emperor again after an 2 minute battle. (nevertheless the Rey/Kylo dynamic was great in this movie) I feel like the trilogy would feel much more cohesive with this script.
