That Prometeu statue represents the national corporation Hidroelectrica S.A. wich owns all the dams from Roumania including the big once from the Danube river wich holds over 2.4 billions cubic meters of waters behind and its long for 140 kilometers and was built half roumanian half yugoslavian but now after the yugoslavia breakup its Serbia . All those dams produce for our nation lots of electricity and they are under the comand and menteinance of Hidroelectrica . thats why the statue is nearby the Vidraru Dam . one of the masterpieces of the roumanian engineering when we talk about hidroelectric dams .

Especially when the Bulgarians were electing a king and The king of Romania at the time, Carol the 1st was an option, also a Wallachian prince was an option, and even another proposal was made by Georgi Dimitrov during the Cold War. But every time this union would get close to exist , a more powerful state would be against it because it didn't want to lose its Influence like The Austria-Hungarian Empire, The Russian Empire and The Soviet Union That pole represents the soldiers who died in World War 1
