I know exactly how it feel to be felt sorry for my ‘disability’. I’m autistic and everyone thinks that I’m stupid or a burden on my family or just the result of bad parenting which just isn’t true. Also when Jazzy and her friend made that comment about how sorry they feel for hearing people... I feel the exact same way with nerotypicals “you aren’t autistic, poor you” Sorry for randomly throwing that out i just remembered lmao

Next time anyone thinks to label someone with that think twice how would that make them feel? Welcome

You know all those times us hearing people complain that public places are too loud or our kids are being too loud... that would be the best thing about being deaf. Still being able to communicate with your hands and not having to deal with the constant headaches from loud public spaces. Ahh bliss. Would be so frustrating dealing with ignorant hearing people though and having the communication barriers. We have a local school that teaches AUSLAN. I hope all schools start teaching it more. I'd love to learn AUSLAN.

@gracet44444 жыл бұрын
@@askialuna7717 Hi, everyone has the same needs yes. So I guess it would be more accurate to say different things people need help with and different things you can give to the world. I also believe that the value of the person does not come from anything a person does just form existing. Everyone has different experiences and different things they find hard. also one persons pain does not get rid of your own or anyone else's, like someone starving does not change what your experiencing. it might give you perspective but it does change it and does't take away from it either.

As for having peace when you sleep cos we are deaf, my uni student accom left me sleeping in my room when the fire alarm (real fire) went off at 3am. My best one is all the hearing people know more than me about my deafness - and they will cure me.... and this is 2015-2020. Deafness is the hardest disability - it's unseen and ignorance is rife. Last month my GP told me to take my hearing aid out and continued to speak to me with her back to me (ie no lipreading!) and that's a doctor.

some of the comments, maybe arent strictly hate comments, but just pure ignorant. When people don't understand deaf culture, they tend to say things that aren't meant to be offensive, but still come across that way because they don't know the right way to say what they mean, does that make sense? The only question/statement that kinda made me think- wow, did you really say that? Was about getting your voice fixed by the doctor. I'm hard of hearing and I have a speech impediment and for years I was teased about my voice because of the way I spoke. Now, however, it doesn't bother me that much because I learned to live with it and it's part of who I am. I could go to the doctor and get speech therapy, but then I'm not suffering or in any pain from my voice being different so why should I get it "fixed"?
