I know exactly how it feel to be felt sorry for my ‘disability’. I’m autistic and everyone thinks that I’m stupid or a burden on my family or just the result of bad parenting which just isn’t true. Also when Jazzy and her friend made that comment about how sorry they feel for hearing people... I feel the exact same way with nerotypicals “you aren’t autistic, poor you” Sorry for randomly throwing that out i just remembered lmao

Cody Anonymous I totally agree no one should be label as disabled many people have Technology that can help them hear such as hearing aids or coach implants which can help them hear everyone has difficulty’s and things they are insecure about some are better at hiding it but we are all the same and all have things to hide. Next time anyone thinks to label someone with that think twice how would that make them feel? Welcome

I feel the same way about my autism. Of course, there is anxiety that can come with it, and that's not easy to deal with, but it's not this horrible tragedy either. I'm sorry that people have said those awful things to you, and you're definitely not a burden.

You know all those times us hearing people complain that public places are too loud or our kids are being too loud... that would be the best thing about being deaf. Still being able to communicate with your hands and not having to deal with the constant headaches from loud public spaces. Ahh bliss. Would be so frustrating dealing with ignorant hearing people though and having the communication barriers. We have a local school that teaches AUSLAN. I hope all schools start teaching it more. I'd love to learn AUSLAN.

I am happy you are the way you are, Jasmine. Being you is why I am a subscriber to your channel and follow on IG. My brother is deaf, so I have had to witness & listen to mean comments directed at him. I am hearing, but that has never affected out relationship or communication. In fact, as our parents have told us, my brother taught me some sign language before I could talk. I have never and will never understand why people waste their time & energy on hating when it's so much easier to ask questions, learn, listen, and above all else ... be respectful. Thank you Jazzy, and Benny, for the video. I really appreciate it! Take care!! 👍🤟🤗

But i very much appreciate the fact that you put closed captioning in your videos because I do not know sign language, but I would never expect you to talk while signing. People who expect that are too lazy to read, read lips or learn sign language. Ignore the haters, you make good content.

One of the many comments I've had threatened to me verbally and written is: 'You're too pretty to be Deaf' and 'Wow you don't look Deaf at all?'. I'm always questioning them back too with wow you don't look hearing or stuff like that. Keep positive and ignoring them haters.

Disability isn't a bad thing. it literally just means you have different needs, but that also means you have different gifts. also social model of disability, society creates 90% of the barriers and the attudies of what you should do creates the other 10% of issues.

May T I once asked people from my well-known circle what they think of the term special needs. Everyone found it strange because they have the same needs as other people and only the difficulty of meeting those needs differs depending on the needs and limitations of the person.
@gracet4444
@gracet4444 4 жыл бұрын
@@askialuna7717 Hi, everyone has the same needs yes. So I guess it would be more accurate to say different things people need help with and different things you can give to the world. I also believe that the value of the person does not come from anything a person does just form existing. Everyone has different experiences and different things they find hard. also one persons pain does not get rid of your own or anyone else's, like someone starving does not change what your experiencing. it might give you perspective but it does change it and does't take away from it either.

Can I ask, why did you guys make the choices you did in regards to using your voice (Benny) or not (Jazzy)? What are the cultural (i.e. deaf culture vs hearing culture) implications of these choices? I'd be very interested in a video about the different ways in which deaf culture can 'clash' with hearing culture - for example certain choices parents of deaf children need to make that can by some people be seen a 'appeasing' one 'side' or the other - and your thoughts on the subject. PS: Love the channel! Whether I'm learning something new or just joining you in being silly, I'm always having a good time!

You talk about doctors being ignorant 20~ years ago - I had that sh!t multiplied 50~ years ago. As for having peace when you sleep cos we are deaf, my uni student accom left me sleeping in my room when the fire alarm (real fire) went off at 3am. My best one is all the hearing people know more than me about my deafness - and they will cure me.... and this is 2015-2020. Deafness is the hardest disability - it's unseen and ignorance is rife. Last month my GP told me to take my hearing aid out and continued to speak to me with her back to me (ie no lipreading!) and that's a doctor.

some of the comments, maybe arent strictly hate comments, but just pure ignorant. When people don't understand deaf culture, they tend to say things that aren't meant to be offensive, but still come across that way because they don't know the right way to say what they mean, does that make sense? The only question/statement that kinda made me think- wow, did you really say that? Was about getting your voice fixed by the doctor. I'm hard of hearing and I have a speech impediment and for years I was teased about my voice because of the way I spoke. Now, however, it doesn't bother me that much because I learned to live with it and it's part of who I am. I could go to the doctor and get speech therapy, but then I'm not suffering or in any pain from my voice being different so why should I get it "fixed"?

Can absolutely relate to this! I’m hard of hearing with two working hearing aids. People often look at me as a ‘normal’ person and be shocked to know I’m deaf?? Cos I use my voice more than sign and how I don’t look deaf 😂

The four dislikes are the ones where people cried so hard at all the trashy ones that make no sense that the happy tears fell on the wrong button.

I use my voice when I am with hearing people. If I come across deaf people (rarely) I sign. Have great day/s. Stay safe.

How would you two find it to be a synesthete for a day? Would be an interesting idea. I always wanted to be a synesthete when I was a child, I saw a lot of documentaries as a child, so the idea came from there. I think the idea is interesting.
