Аfter my first date with a one girl I asked her "do you want to go out again?" instead she corrected me that it was better to hear from me "hey I want to see you again". Then I understood the power of direct comunication.

yes, you made an awesome point. Most men think that if a woman is "confident", it means that she wants to dominate the realtionship fully. The OPPOSITE is true. It means she has embraced what she is; a LADY, someone who RECEIVES masculine energy and reacts to it in a feminine way. Confident lady means she is unapologetic to society that she loves feminine and loves to receive the rock solid energy from the masculine without constantly triying to undermine the man´s true qualities.

My take: Some men, especially younger men, often mistake being mean or insulting with being 'direct'. Unless the person is 'under' you in a formal hierarchy, the need to 'put someone in his or her place' is a sign of weakness, not strength. Emotional security -- not being bothered by what other people do -- is the method AND the goal. A good way to practice this approach is 'not being offended' by anything. Nothing is a threat, unless it is a threat. Also, there is no need to 'match' a bully with bullying. Bullies are dysfunctional , and unless you're in prison, you have nothing to gain, and a lot to lose, by matching their tactics.

I had issues, in past relationships, of not being very direct, on top of being indecisive. It wasn't until conversations I had with an ex girlfriend's friend telling me why her friend was no longer interested in me that I had to change my behavior. Part of it was I lacked confidence. It wasn't until I started putting myself in leadership roles and taking the initiative in my life that things begin to change. One experience was when my Karate instructor asked me to help teach some of the classes since I was an advance student. That's when I gained my confidence in the ability to make decisions and be more direct. It took a long time but I eventually became more confident.

Love this! I’m, in some situations, in my relationship, direct. My husband has always said to me, “speak your mind. Say what you mean!” I can understand women not wanting to sound like they’re being too this or that when they say for example, as you said “I’m cold” hinting to either get your partner’s jacket or turn the AC down. I can so understand that! So bc I’m older and I’ve been in a relationship for 17 yrs, I personally found, I can speak directly. Perhaps that came with age? 🤔 You can be very feminine and say, “I’m cold, can I pls have your jacket or turn the AC down, I’m freezing?” You’re not being pushy or too much, and I’m sure for most guys they have an instinct to help a girl out! I love how men are direct, I personally find it very sexy!!! 😁 Loved this video… and love your content, keep it up, Sistah!💗

@@tomcarrow Women need a man who can provide more resources than she could alone; she can nag the man to get a better job or just mooch off his existing resources. A relationship is like wringing the water out of a sponge, except the water is a man's resources and women squeeze very hard. It's just the way things are and I don't think women are malicious, just there would be no incentive for a woman to have a relationship if she isn't getting more than she gives.
@victherocker
@victherocker 3 жыл бұрын
@@EhurtAfy I disagree. And I wouldn't just talk about good man or good woman alone but good, healthy couple/relationship. It's where a woman should be able to make her own independent living and so can a man. And if so what's good for both if they can totally support themselves? That's when it comes to WANTING a life partner, someone who can be there for us and support us mentally, emotionally, spiritually, you name it, and not just NEEDING a life partner. It's totally achievable and doesn't have to go the way you describe. Both can be giving and receiving exactly what one needs without resources and money always getting involved. Even though we're social animals, we should learn to live alone and support ourselves alone. When we achieve that, we can then move on and support and cherish others without being needy. If my woman desperately depends on me as if she can't live without me then honestly, I don't want her, because she's just gonna suck the life out of me.

You brought up a major point that many men see "Feminine Energy" as weak. If people acknowledge that there is power in both, and one is not "stronger" than the other, there will be more tolerance between the genders. There are pros and cons to everything - a common issue for "Feminine Energy" it may be decisiveness, for "Masculine Energy" it might be aggressiveness - but there are so many men who are indecisive as well. If we approach people understanding to "balance" the social dynamic (regardless of gender) and not control it, we might just become more attractive humans overall.

The reason why men say “don’t ask a fish how to fish” in regards to getting advice from women is because women don’t know what they want. It’s been scientifically proven that what a woman says she is attracted to and what her body is attracted to are often two totally different things.

"I'm cold" is _extremely annoying._ It may be "cute" the first couple of times, because the guy gets to "protect" or "rescue" the girl early on, but guys don't want a helpless woman. I would get so tired of my wife telling me this, *_especially_* when she was told/reminded it was going to be cold before we left. I would tell her to take her jacket and she wouldn't, then we'd be walking and she'd tell me she was cold. I would reply with "You should have brought your jacket like I told you." I could tell the rising heat in her face kept her warm. (Ha ha! j/k - She wasn't happy with me then.) On the plus side, she'll take her jacket and I'll put my arm around her. Thanks for the video! I agree he could have phrased _lots_ of things better, as well as pausing a bit more between thoughts. I would enjoy watching a masculine/feminine video from you when you're ready. I think the point of the "don't ask a fish how to fish" is that women tend to give answers that put them in a good light, not answers that are the reality of what they actually want. Women are hyper concerned with image and beauty and so on so it is expected they would not give truthful answers. Women will give SOME truthful answers but not all so why seek counsel from someone who will mix truth with lies when you can go to other sources, like this one, that give you the straight skinny? By the way, another opinion I'd like to share is that while I find these videos to be of significant benefit, I think they are not always correct at all times. In fact Courtney might not even dispute this point. For example, there was another video she posted advising various things to put around the house like a sound system even if small or a plant and other assorted items MOST women would appreciate, but not all women are going to be impressed by these things. So it's a matter of comparing advice against context and circumstances and personalities. In my opinion though, of the videos I've seen on this channel so far, something like 9 times out of 10 you're going to strike a bullseye with her advice.
@albertgaspar627

not to mention, i've met plenty of women who had no clue of why they did what they did. and in this video, the hostess mentions she never even thought about how she doesn't directly ask her own boyfriend to take care of her feeling cold. so she isn't even aware of what she's trying to accomplish when she fails to speak directly to someone she should feel comfortable speaking directly to. and you'd expect a healthy relationship to have that direct communication.

This isnt the straight skinny. If shes attracted u can say whatever u want without consequence if shes not attracted shed rather u not speak to her at all. Game is about maintaining what is already there, not making money grow on trees. Thats why the dudes most successful at "game" and "social" are physically more attractive. They can be delusional spergs but more women are attracted to them therefore they assume they have good game. Has nothing to do with who they are or their actions because the attraction has nothing to do with those things its all superficial layer. Just ask this chick to show her boyfriend off and its plain as day.

@@ethosterros9430 I think there is an element of truth to what you say. MOST people in my observation tend to hook up with others who are at their same or similar level of physical attractiveness. However I also observe that this is not universally true. There are many times I see beautiful women hooking up with very average looking guys because he offers certain things she really wants. (No I don't mean money although that kind of dysfunctional relationship obviously exists.) Also what Courtney said rings true that she has met guys who looked like greed gods but turned them down 'cause their personalities sucked. I think the male analog of that resonates true as well. Sure a bimbo airhead is fun to date and have sex with but would you want to marry that girl? Not unless you're stupid. Somewhat above average looks but with a brain is a MUCH better deal long term.

As a bartender, with more than 10 years of experience in hospitality, I can tell you one thing: if you wanna stand out and be attractive to a waitress eyes, the words you really need to use are "hi" and "bye" when walking in and out of the venue, "please" "can I have" and "thank you" when you're placing your order and receiving it, and in general be well mannered and respectful... if you're gonna act like the guy in the example, you're not gonna be considered assertive and dominant, but "unpolite, rude and disrespectful" (feel free to add your own favourite description, believe me: waiters/waitress does...) and definitely not attractive to anyone... be kind, it's always the best way...

Most of what I saw here were demonstrations of why I pay no attention to animated videos narrated by AI voices. Most of them are memes, not information sources, and don't give good information. Besides that, if a guy doesn't have the courage to at least use his own voice when giving advice, much less show his face in the video, then why should I listen to him? I'd much rather hear it from you, Courtney. You're genuine, and your corrections and clarifications are informative and helpful.

I agree this guy has a shitty channel with a lot of poorly made up concepts. Women don’t need to be a priority though unless you’re looking for something long term. If it’s purely sexual attraction, they won’t want a guy who over values them. That said, good luck if you’re planning on having a long lasting relationship with a woman who does not feel the most important thing in your life.

Yes absolutely agree with you. I don't what you thought process on the ying and Yang of this mentioned. But I'm instructor of tai chi and our best is go softly. I find that most not all women show their feminine qualities in tai chi which to show the softness and when needed in constructive manner bring out the Yang. Masculine part. ☯️. We all share these qualities and it's how we use them in our daily life. I'm a strong man but aggressive it took me many years to learn this and found it so useful. Softness is the way to go 💖. Macho guys don't get for its a great process to for well being 👍🧜‍♀️. I've learned many styles of martial arts but tai chi..brings out the softness or feminine side of people you learn to be more in touch with your feelings and become more compassionate. It's not easy 🤔. I have studied over 30yrs and many styles, but softness or being able to change oneself can help you be s more calm person of one self. Yes absolutely it takes dedication willing to practice. But I have found that women have this innate ability to help you. Thank you sharing this vide. Yes, definitely! Seeing and hearing about YOUR personal interpretation and understanding of "masculine" and "feminine" energies, and the differences (and even any similarities) that you believe they have between them, would definitely be a VERY interesting video, IMHO!... And I wouldn't ask that opinion or interpretation from every or just any "average" or "typical" woman, (if there even is such a thing as that), because most women do not really seem to know or understand those differences, but YOU Courtney, seem to be one of a relatively small percentage of women who actually DO have a decent grasp of the male/female dynamic, kind of like Alexander Grace does as a guy; very balanced, multilevel, and multidimensional overall, like you can see it from all different angles, and not be too biased in one way or another... So since YOU have such a good head on your shoulders, with a very good, comprehensively understanding, and truly knowledgeable mind, then I think YOUR personal take on those differences would be a quite beneficial thing for us all to see!... I look forward to watching and listening to you in that video if you ever DO decide to do it!... Keep up your great work, it's always very informative and even inspiring! :)

Yes, never listen to dating advice from women.
@shawn4110
@shawn4110 3 жыл бұрын
A woman wants to be attractive to an attractive man. That is not the same as a woman wanting to be attracted to any specific man, nor all men generally. The reason people say that you can't listen to a fish to learn how to catch fish, is because the fish doesn't want to be caught by the fisherman. So also, do women not want to be caught by most men, just the best men. The restaurant example here is a perfect reflection of that. 'If the waitress is attracted you, it doesn't matter how you said the order'. If that man did ask the woman why she was not attracted to him, she would not say 'Because I think you are ugly'. It would be 'I don't date customers', even if she 100% would date an attractive customer. I don't personally think that women give very good dating advice because, as Courtney said here, 'She is being nice because she doesn't want to hurt your feelings'. Hence she cannot say that being tall, being successful, being highly educated, being highly respected among your peers, being physically attractive' since these things are either completely outside of a man's control, or in a competitive market, guaranteed to exclude some portion of men. (i.e. you could work out and be more attractive, but someone else with better genes will always be more attractive given the same level of effort and you can't work out your face muscles to start looking like Chris Hemsworth). So instead, they will focus on personality traits that are largely within your control or the small parts that are in your control (working out is better than not working out; even though you might just end up looking like jacked carrot top; still ugly, but not fat. Which is "better" than ugly and fat). The real answer for women is the combination of the above traits, plus, the personality traits like being caring, being driven, having goals, etc. If you imagine that the dating advice women give to men is directed at attractive men, it's great advice. If you want advice on how to be attractive in the first place, you will instead get advice that leaves out anything that will hurt your feelings 9/10 times. That's not 'bad advice', it's inferior advice compared to direct and honest advice.

I've had some try to use it on me and it pisses me off, my first thought being: 'Who the heck put you in charge?'" Thanks for your well considered responses Courtney, you added something there once again. I wanted to disagree with one point however : you seemed to be saying at one point that you are trying to be less indirect with your boyfriend ( eg “it’s cold in here”). This is the exact example I saw a relationship coach give at one stage of something modern women should do more of - actually by being indirect, a woman actually gives a man a chance to offer care, leading - like in a dance, it’s part of a game you are playing together. I’m totally fine with a woman being direct, and if we are not romantic/ flirting this is better eg in the workplace. But, just as direct communication could be brash or arrogant if done without awareness (ie an insecure front) indirect communication could be malicious or annoying, if it is not done in the right spirit. If indirect communication is done in the right spirit by a woman it can be utterly charming for a man, part of a delightful dance where you’re offering different energies to the interaction. By contrast a woman being really direct and trying to lead me is kind of boring and annoying. Not because women can’t or shouldn’t lead in many contexts but because being too direct denies me my part in the dance where both people are very aware of the signals coming from each other.

Dear Courtney Ryan... Indirect Communication and Direct Communication... Here is something to think about... When I eat breakfast at my local restaurant, on the occasion, a lonely young woman wanted to sit, no more booths, and my booth had more than enough room and so I invited her to sit, not asking as a date because she had a boyfriend and so I invited them both to share the booth.... The POINT is communication can create a friendly atmosphere and for roughly -45- minutes three total strangers shared a booth and good conversation.... We separately paid for our meals, but communication does create confidence and friendship.... Always In Good Taste... CHEERS!!

Interesting observation: Courtney frequently refers to herself as a “girl” despite the fact that she is an intelligent, articulate, successful young woman. Females who appear in forums such as Fresh and Fit and Kevin Samuels frequently get offended by being called a girl, and demand that you call them a woman. Courtney is truly the real woman in these examples because she still values being a girl as well. Courtney’s power comes from her femininity where as those other girls try to pretend power through their feminism.

Fun fact: you can be confident, and direct and still ask questions. If you always say “I want” that isn’t presenting the option of no because you never asked. As someone who came from a relationship where the person always said “they wanted” something and that “I needed” to do something. It made me feel like I had to do it even though I shouldn’t have. The best thing to do for me is to ask but be direct while asking. Not saying that you are cold, but asking “May I please have a Jacket?” It makes me understand what they want while still having that option of saying “ I am really cold myself”

In my estimation “girls” aren’t monolithic creatures, unless you’re a psychopath. That being said, communicating with women comes from a variety of different motives. If somebody’s motive is shallow, they’ll get shallow results. If it’s more meaningful, they’ll get more meaningful results.

Courtney you're amazing, and you're totally right. While the technical tools for speaking with more dominance and certainty are useful, building them up from a place of self-belief and remembering to be kind to others, is an important top-down way to think about and approach embodying that. I really appreciate the more indirect, and top-down way of seeing things that femininity brings, as it adds nuance and creativity to otherwise bland, boring or predictable situations, which is what you get with the more masculine direct and focused bottom-up approach. As a guy I definitely prefer being around the opposite energy, so I like that you mentioned how society still conditions girls to view femininity as weak. That sounds aweful and we should talk about that! Its not good, not for girls and not for guys either; I want more feminine energy around me, I like it when a girl says she's cold; it means I get to feel chivalrous and protective by giving her my jacket, whereas otherwise the gesture would feel forceful or I would just be in the dark! I don't want girls feeling insecure about that instinct and change to suddenly start assertively telling me I'm going to give them my coat, (have you seen the new Batman) that would feel aweful! And I'm sure I'm not alone on that, if we were to ask a lot of guys their thoughts on it. Fortunetely the disempowering message you described being given to girls is not something I've encountered; perhaps I'm lucky, where I live the women are constantly empowered and even a touch entitled, but that's clearly not the case everywhere, and self-esteem is so so important. We need to get better at being supportive of girls and encourage them to use their voice and their gifts and show them they matter and are loved. Its not cool that we're making women feel not at home in their femininity. And we should do the same for boys. The fact that so many men are speaking indirectly and afraid of being present, and saying what they mean, of going for what they want, and generally not believing in themselves, means we are failing them as a society. They're not at home with their masculinity, anymore than women are with their femininity. Its not a guy girl thing specifically, although it affects us differently, its more like there's industries out there designed and invested in having us, all of us, remain indefinitely insecure. And we have to be careful about that, and consciously stay in touch with who we are and build that up to offset the negative social messaging. What I love most about the self-development space Courtney, is that beautiful people like you exist, and show others either what's really going on, or give tools to rediscover their inner spark, their inner beauty, their inner badass. Thanks for being you, and always bringing authenticity and kindness to a space that is too often filled with bad information and worse intentions. You rock, big fan of your work!

For me especially I find this sort of thing really confusing because I have a couple of intellectual disabilities Asperger syndrome and a little bit of ADHD, I love your channel Courtney it’s important that guys can hear an honest perspective and the reality of how it is coming from a female when I’m use to hearing about the reality with women coming from men on KZbin, btw I’m a viewer from Australia. 🇦🇺

For me, it's an introverted, or more intellectual perspective, where you speak to me better than most who give men advice; I don't usually ask men... either bad or too "harsh" advice that does not suit me. Not one to do things just because one said so, it has to make sense to me and as the bible has it... deep goes to deep. I think the right word, for me, is not confidence but assertiveness and starting conversations, is what I have to work on. Sometimes, all I require is the one word, to change everything. Now, if I can find "decent" and true God Fearing women, I'd be happy. Thanks for the video, loved it... 💋... ... and thanks for the grain sacks to look at. 👀
