Arachne is part of Greek Myth. Taeyeon is Artemis while Hyoyeon is Arachne, I don't know if it is related to their comeback as a group but if it is then the concept will be a Greek Goddesses since SM also announced that SNSD is the Goddess of Sound in Kwangya.

All this time, we went from scones saying she didn’t get lines in SNSD because “she couldn’t sing” to her being one of the 2 still active singers in SNSD and having a style totally her own, and doing whatever the hell she wants. "DEEP" is such a great song too for a comeback.. as you said this is HYO genre, only her could be this off like this and make it sound and look so good!! she knows what she's doing by choosing to release these songs.. she has a vision for being idol/DJ and she wants to popularise it, as she should cuz she's doing it for the arts! she's amazing how she chooses to challenge herself with these sounds that are not appealing to everyone! she is an all rounder artist, she knows she can do it all so she chooses to set trends rather than follow them! the concept of her MV is inspired by the myth f Arachne who was a talented weaver that believed her talents are given by no gods, and that it's her hard work that got her to where she is!! the goddess of crafts, Athena, felt insulted so she challenged Arachne in a weaving competition and lost! the fact that Arachne, a mortal who didn't believe in these gods proved her point against a whole goddess made the latter very angry. Athena then turned Arachne to a spider as a punishment so she can weave for the rest of her life! Hyoyeon's album and MV concept is inspired by the story sine it reflects on the way Hyoyeon thinks of herself and her career! she is a hard working woman who said "If you work hard, you will always succeed", as someone who believes that she shouldn't give herself to the world's standards and make her own one instead! I think the MV showcases how fierce Hyoyeon is when it comes to all of that!!

There is a rumour going around that aespa's next storyline villain in Kwangya is a spider so Hyoyeon must be connected to the next Kwangya adventure!! the only hint I could get is the way her eyes changed at the end of the MV! so yeah I'm excited to see if this theory turns out to be true cuz it would be dope!!

ehem just letting you know that Arachne in greek myths is a young, talented human girl (not a goddess) who was very boastful about her weaving talent due to her youth and inexperience, which resulted in her going against goddess Athena in a weaving competition. There are different versions of how it went down but basically Athena eventually turned Arachne into a spider out of pity(?). Hyo said she wanted to go for a villain vibe here, so idk if the mv has any relations to the story itself, but the name Arachne does for sure.

Hyoyeon said on her comeback live that she envisioned her to be a villain in the mv. She wanted to go for a more fierce image for this comeback so she definitely nailed that. I LOVE Stupid. I get Hyoyeon's vision with Deep and it's the perfect song as the title track. But Stupid is just too good. The song itself is amazing but the message of the song just made me love it even more, especially since knowing how Hyo struggled with her image and people calling her dumb or stupid just because she's slipped a lot while talking in tv shows. I want an mv for it so badly. Or if not then maybe she can promote it on music shows or even just a dance challenge. I just want crumbs for Stupid lol. Didn't even think anything can top Sober for me but Stupid outdid. Also love your idea for the new soshi album. They already promised to appear on some shows since last year and it was mentioned that they're planning for a reality show too so there's so much to look forward too.

My biases are always the rappers that get like NO lines, but have seriously under-appreciated vocals. I LOVE Hyo's voice so much, part of the reason she is my bias (plus, she is just a queen, and "stupid" cute). Girl deserves WAY more tracks and albums. Grr.

tbh a lot of people prefered "Stupid" to "DEEP" and I might be one of them lmao.. no cuz I'm a little too addicted to Stupid, it's such a banger, the summery vibes, the sassy lyrics, the vocals, the fun beat.. like I really wish Hyoyeon would release some kinda MV for it, maybe a special video or a performance video!! the only thing that I understand of the mv theory is in my opinion sm is trying snsd members to have myth like concepts like how taeyeon is artemis and here hyo as arachne since according to sm's kwangya theories that snsd are sound goddesses(?) from what I remember in their universe much like exo are supernatural beings and aespa and any other sm artists.
