It's not really Muslim countries, it's only the from Pakistan to Egypt. Central Asian Muslim countries like Kazakhstan, and in east Asia, like Indonesia, Malaysia, even north African countries are pretty chill. North Africa has some civil war issues, but not full on war like middle east and Afghan and pak. I would say before oil discovery they were chill as compared to Europe, Europe used to be like middle east. Just constantly wanting to expand on one another. They stopped when they became democracies. Muslim countries will to stop if they become democracy.

Good points. The conflict really does come down to ego or more precisely - influence. Iran, which is not Arab, wants to control Arabs, especially fellow Shia countries like Iraq. Iran got nothing to do with Israel. It just wants to 1) divert local attention from the Islamic regime and 2) assume de-facto ideological leadership of Middle East by taking on the supposed common enemy Israel. The conflict is not strategic like over a port, border or resources etc. It's more theocratic and relating to keeping hold of power internally.
