Right now, the last thing Tati says ,"we'll see you someday" really hurts the soul. Between Covid and the war, Jinjer's rise in the metal community has been halted. In a way this performance was a type of world coming out party. At the biggest metal festival, they shined the brightest that day, even with the AM start time they were the featured song for that day in the Friday promo video. And now we don't know when will see this band again. Very few bands have had to endure what Jinjer has and hopefully one day they will get what they deserve. Hopefully, with a decent time slot on the main stage at Wacken. Thank you for the reaction.

Yes, their rise in the metal community has been halted because of covid and the war and they really missed out because they were supposed to be one of Slipknots opening bands from March 16 until April 17 (2022). They would have gotten alot of good exposure touring with them and I bet Corey would have loved Jinjer and Tatiana.

The song is about Tatiana's struggles with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). In it she vows to return to a normal life like the return of the "perennial" flowers in the spring. Tatiana is not only a great vocalist but she is also a great lyricist. She is also a great frontwoman live. I would recommend reacting to "Who is Gonna be the one" (Live, Napalm Records) to see the frontwoman part. 💙💛🌻

Not every angel has an inner demon, at least vocally. For me, not only her singing voice has a great tone to it, but even her growl has a nice tone. And her ability to use it to add emotion is amazing.

Great reaction, I think you would really like "Wallflower" it's about Tatiana being not only an introvert but a procrastinator and the pressure she feels. Not only dealing with fans and media etc. but also with deadlines of getting lyrics done for their songs.

Saw Jinjer at the second last concert of a 30 day tour, I was totally expecting her voice to be rougher than normal after a full month of shouting night after night for hours on end...but it was smooth as silk, not even the slightest difference in her clean vocals and sweet spots, she's an alien or something I swear!

Great Reaction! My concern with Tatiana when I first heard her sing and growl was that she was going to ruin her voice, but she has been doing this with Jinjer at least 10 years now and they have had a pretty busy touring schedule (not now because of russia) and her voice would definitely be showing damage if she was doing anything that was hurting her voice. To watch Tatiana close up while she sings, react to Judgement and Puishment One Take Vocals. She is in a little homemade recording booth singing to the music track and the camera is on her the whole time.

You don't distort your voice per se (vocal cords) to do these growls & screams, so no damage. You use the vestibular folds ("false cords"), aretenoids, soft palate, etc--all above the vocal cords.

You said "explain" so here's the basic idea: Tatiana is like a hybrid car with two distinct engines. She produces her clear voice with her regular vocal folds and the distorted growl with a pair of muscles which are above them, known as false vocal cords or vestibular folds. You can also feel them if you try an angry sigh. Listen to that raspy, rattly sound and feel where they come from, high up, at the base of your tongue. Of course there's a lot more to that but this is the basic idea. Her vocal cords are almost completely left out of the growling parts, that is why she doesn't damage her voice and that is also why she can switch back and forth between the two techniques. If you ever want to know whether a singer does something correctly in a healthy way or not, look at their bodies: there's a shitload of pressure from her belly, a firm stance, almost rooted on the floor, but no tension anywhere above the diaphragm, no veins popping out on her neck, her jaw is very relaxed, that's always a sign of a correct singing technique.

I search for new reactions of jinjer almost every day and yours was the funniest in a very long time :) 1) i like when you hear growls and screams you immediatly go in "please jesus our lord saves us all" mode with your hands :) . 2) 4:59 is clearly the best live switch between growls and cleans that tatiana ever made and it's nice that you caught that. I've seen a lot of reactions and only top professionals reactors (elizabeth, julia and few others) immediatly goit how insane that switch is. 3) 7:01 ouch, tatiana stomped a cat or something AHAHAH! look at the timing between the stomp in the video and the cat scream in your house, is perfect and it made me laugh so much :) i've also seen your reaction to pisces and teacher teacher, so i know you've already done those...but if you want more jinjer masterpieces i suggest: - on the top live in kiev: just an amazing song and an amazing performance, it's in my top3 jinjer songs with teacher teacher and perennial - who is gonna be the one live: just search for "who is gonna be the one live" , you know which video is since it has MILLIONS of views. those are younger jinjer, more heavy and more in your face but you should still enjoy that, another amazing performance - judgment & punishment: one take version here is the right one to react, this song is great and it has a different vibe from everything else jinjer has done (no spoilers :) ) - home back: the official video. the video is one years old but now is getting a lot more attention since the whole lyrics and the whole video are about russia invading ukraine back in 2014, and hearing that song now is clearly more heavy than ever. - vortex: again, the official video. it's the 1st video out of their last album so this is the reaction to go with if you want to hear latest things by them. after those there's a lot of other really really good stuff but i think those are the videos to prioritize if you ever want to react to more jinjer :)

Two notes: Perennial is used to describe plants(normally flowers) that appear to die in winter but regrow in spring. The song is about getting through depression by remembering spring will come. 2nd, she was saying bye to the crowd so that is her voice after being tired from a full set

This is a great performance Make sure to read the lyrics if you haven't already. The band is so talented and Tatiana is so captivating. Her stage presents is incredible. I love how she uses her body movements to help tell the story. Her seamless transitions from clean vocals to growls are mind blowing. Perennial meaning : lasting or existing for a long or apparently infinite time; enduring or continually recurring. Regular flowers die in the winter but Perennial flowers do not. Instead they come back every spring Its like they are reborn every year. I think members of the band are still in Ukraine so I really hope they can remain safe. 🙏💛💙

go back and see what the Early Jinjer was like, whether it is tracks off the Inhale, Don't Breath or off the Cloud Factory album, you will get a great reveal of both Tatiana as well as the band, where they come from...be it their early days of gig playing in local dives playing everything from Rock to Jazz, to the effects of members and roles being changed as they lose multiple drummers and a guitarist throughout their journey to the present day Jinjer. Outlander (live) Until the End (live) Scissors (live) Exposed as a Liar (OMV) Cloud Factory (Live as well as OMV) Who is going to be the One (live) Bad Water (OMV) Plus or a Minus (OMV) No Hoard of Value (OMV) When Two Empires Collide (live) These are the tracks I would suggest just off those two albums, with my own personal vote for Cloud Factory to be one of their best album and Outlander & Cloud Factory being in my top 3 Jinjer Tracks of all time.

I learned to growl like this. Growling uses false cords for the distortion effect, not actually screaming or putting strain on your vocal cords. When you engage your false folds, you sing through it with vocal cords with no more force than your speaking voice and then the growl comes out. So as long as you are not shouting/straining your vocals too forcefully they are safe when doing this. Generally you can get the shouting / growling sound without much effort at all. I can do it loud or quiet, you control the intensity and putting too much force and strain is actually counterproductive and makes it sound less powerful. It's all about balance and keeping loose and low effort and it can sound most powerful that way. Doing proper growls won't strain your vocal cords any more than normal singing or even speaking as long as you do it right.

You aren't wrong about two voices. Since she's using false cord growls, it's entirely different anatomical structures making the sounds. Even Tati describes it as feeling like she has "two throats" one for cleans and one for growls. Cheers!
