If I remember rightly, Layne did an interview where he said they doubled Geoff for the bass line in this one. No doubt that Eli could do it though,he has great range.

during live performances, Eli will do the bassline while Geoff sings, but for this video it is Geoff being double tracked while Eli "acts" as if he is doing the bass to make it look more genuine.

Layne mentioned in an interview that he used Kiss the Girl as the inspiration for the backing vocals on that part (it's part of the interview he did with The Charismatic Voice, they did a whole technical breakdown of how this was arranged and mixed and all). I'll admit, I didn't catch it when I first heard the medley, but I can absolutely hear it after it was mentioned.

@@stevensallsorts Very true. He will likely have opportunities to come collaborate, and I am *very much* hoping he does, but to actually fully "come back" (which is how *I* interpreted your comment), wouldn't be for a while. Not everyone realizes the enlistment duration. 🙂
