I will never forget my first Matilda video. It was that lipbalm product pile video from six years ago - I was just 13 years old 😭 Ohmygosh I was just a baby, looking at all your products in envy and wishing I had them! That little girl who had 0 money and 0 makeup skills found so much happiness in watching you swatch makeup that she wanted to own someday. I would come home from middle school and fall asleep to your videos (your voice is very relaxing!) I was such a little guru too, telling my friends all about this "makeup knowledge" I had when in fact I didn't even own any makeup and was just spouting out words said by you. I think the first video I watched of yours was a travel skincare video from about two years ago, and then I binged as much of your skincare content as I could! I always feel soothed, cheery and uplifted watching your videos. Your sense of humor shines through each one, they're each beautiful and playful and oh-so-organized, and they inspire me to try new things and appreciate all the more the items I come back to again and again, all while feeling like I'm relaxing with a friend looking through skincare together. Happy channel-birthday! I got to your channel when I was contemplating whether to purchase the Fresh sugar balm (I did, but in the wrong color, never worn it 😆) and was immediately hooked. Your videos are just a treat. You love makeup and it shows. I love that you stick with the products you really love while also touching on trends, but most of all I love how relaxing your videos are. In a world where videos become shorter and faster, I find them becoming stresful and often shallow- some fingernails clicking on a lipstick container, then a duck-face swatch, and I'm left kinda anxious, drained and without knowledge about the product, rather than inspired and chill, like I feel after your videos. The only comparison I have for your content is the tutorials by Lisa Eldridge, which is the biggest compliment in my eyes. My frist vidéo of you was the glossier blush video! I think glossier was all the rage back then. I loved your videos and even bought a Bobbie Brown Crushed lipstick off my tight student budget after your first ever videos on them. I still use and cherish the glossier blushes I eventually purchased following your videos as well as the crushed lipstick ( in cranberry I think)! You also introduced me to RMS and my favorite lip color of all time, discountinued now! I can say I grew up with your makeup tastes and favorites and turned them into favorite of mine ! Matilda! I love this, I’ve been following you since you started I remember so much of these videos. I found you when I was pregnant and in bed rest for a month during my second trimester. 4:44 the new mascara is one of my holy grail products! I have blue eyes and fair skin, and I find that black mascara is just too much on my eyes. This shade pops beautifully, and it also doesn't clump or over lengthen. I have a feeling you would love it.

Congrats on 7 years, time flies!! I remember coming across you back in highschool before I got into makeup, and while I had no idea what you were talking about, I loved watching you anyway. I now love makeup and playing with makeup, and you've been a big inspiration in my personal style. My recent purchase bobbi brown italian rose is just as you describe it: sheer, balmy, and on me a perfect winter rose shade for my warm skin. It wears off in such an even, pretty flattering way so even if I don't touch up for hours my lips still look fresh. I got my mom blondie pink and she loves it too.

Congratulations on being 7 years on YT Matlida! I came to your channel in 2018 and you've been such a huge inspiration to me for makeup and self-care! Back then it was either full face or nothing and it never felt like there was an in-between. You've introduced me to so many great brands and allowed me to find my own style in makeup which may sound a bit crazy now but I was a teenager back then haha. To answer your question, I first came across your channel when you did your first celebrity makeup bag video and I've never left your channel since. Your channel always had this calming and elegant ease, which stuck with me. Up until today, you're still the (only) beauty content creator I genuinely like, trust, and follow. I also like Bailey Sarian, but I go to her channel for the murder mystery, etc. and not necessarily for makeup recommendations. ;) Looking forward to many more years with you on YT! ;)

I have been here for a long time, I think I just saw a recommended video show up and I liked the thumbnail and clicked and then was wooed by your lovely narration : ) Please do consider another holy grail or up to date video on drugstore products, I think formulas have improved so much, there really are products in the drugstore that are now not just on par, but much better than certain luxury brands. I wonder also, are you into Erborian? whilst it is Korean beauty, it is huge across Europe, most places are retailing it alongside French pharmacy brands. Just a thought, after talking about Chanel's sheer formulations. I have products I haven't changed since i got into makeup: Chanel brow pencil. Mac Pro eye base. Moroccanoil hair oil. Clinique non waterproof mascara (the dark green tube) :D And habits I picked up: must try a lipstick from every brand :D must try certain cheek colours in both powder and cream/liquid formula :D slowly but steadily, through life I shall continue enjoying to paint my face every day ^^ just a little bit :)
