Thank you so much for reviewing my enclosure (mine is the first one) I do actually sprinkle half their food around and give them half in a bowl, just so I know that they’re eating, I’ve also changed their bedding to carefresh so it holds burrows better.

Me and my sister get the large bendy bridges from pets at home. They have a load of different sizes for relatively cheap and they're great quality. Seeing all these awesome cages inspired me so much and I really hope you can do another one because I might get some gerbils in October (or sooner if I can convince my parents)!

This was so helpful as are all of your videos! We have had our gerbils for 6 months and I am learning that the bedding we had was TOO SHALLOW! I am transitioning from a 20 gallon to a 40 gallon tank and so learning alot from you about how to set up the habitat. I feel bad that I've not know to do deeper bedding sooner and that they are showing signs of boredom! eek! Grateful for all your support, and education and gerbil love

Hi, I'm the one with the two connected tanks :) The food bowls are just extra sand area for them to poop in, I scatter feed them in the big tank :D And I'm not sure what you mean with the platform, I just have the lids and the front of the connector is covered with plexiglass (which they aren't able to chew on), so they can't get out. Also I'm so happy you liked the cage 😊
@finsandwhiskers3 жыл бұрын
The wooden part! right next to the daisies I put to indicate what I was questioning! Would love to know :)
@crith48053 жыл бұрын
@@finsandwhiskers Hm, still not sure what you mean so I'm gonna describe everything a little😅 The wooden thing left of the daisies is just the "staircase" connecting the two tanks. The front is covered in plexiglass so they cannot get out. The "ladder" on the right leads up to the top of the tank, but is also covered in a wood/plexiglass construction. They then turn left and get into the stair case and climb down to the other tank. Above the daisies is just the lid of the big tank which is a little higher on the right side to fit the wheel. I could also send you more fotos if that would help😊

One thing I've noticed with my gerbils is that they're SUPER picky. I thought I would just leave the food in there and not give them more so that they actually have to eat what they don't like. They ended up not eating for 2-3 days. When I decided to replace the food, they almost started fighting over a piece because they were so hungry. I think they're starting to branch out and deal with it (different food) now lol.
@evaluise223 жыл бұрын
Nice enclosures! The German Vets (Tierärztliche Vereinigung) say, that the bedding should have at least 16 inches (40 cm). Since my gerbils live with 45 cm, they seem to be even happier :-).

My brother has two gerbils, Spice and Chewy. They have been living in a 20gallon for three months and when we first got them they lived in something even smaller with a third gerbil (R.I.P Sugar🌈). Hi, I am a soon-to-be gerbil mum and after watching all your amazing videos have two questions that I would be eternally grateful if you/ anyone could please answer! The gerbils are going to live in my bedroom, can I spray perfume and use my diffuser, or would that be bad for them and unsettle them, potentially leading to a Declan? (I know that foreign smells within the cage can be bad but does it matter if they are outside the cage?) Also, is handling your gerbils too much a thing? I understand that you should let them be for about a week when you get them, and that you should read body language and put them back in their enclosure when they want to and that you shouldn’t grab them and force them to be held, but can you try and bond with them multiple times a day? Thank you so much for reading xxx
@annakitching59753 жыл бұрын
*As in spray perfume on myself, not intentionally near them!
@finsandwhiskers3 жыл бұрын
Diffusers shouldn’t be used in the room because it will cause respiratory issues and you don’t want your gerbils breathing that in. Perfume on you as long as it is a small spritz, shouldn’t linger in the air, but it would be best to spray it in another room. As for taming, you can interact multiple times a day but try to keep most of the interactions with them still in the enclosure :)
@annakitching59753 жыл бұрын
@@finsandwhiskers Thank you so much! Is it ok to hold them and take them out of the enclosure like you do in videos daily? Sorry for all the questions, I’m just trying to learn as much as I can!
