Independently, they have the only 3 reaction/analysis channels on KZbin that I found so engaging I wanted to subscribe and hear more -- all 3 of them analytical, interesting and fun in equal measure. They're all absolutely passionate about music and it always shines through. Originally I had no idea there was any link between you three -- so I think it's about time for a three-country collaboration! Your unique perspectives are a great complement to each other.

@@ChaseCarneson I dont know if anybody has suggested this as an option for the dual or even trifecta analysis breakdown masterclass in music vocal theory videos. But how about finding songs that you have experience with and do a comparison of the band and how Tuomas arŕanges the songs between Tarja & Floor and analize the way the same song translates between them musically and vocally in live performances. Then its not a reaction and just a learning experience for all. I think that this would just be amazing.
@b0hemianrage4143 жыл бұрын
This is my wedding song. I love it so much. It was made during the intermission between Tarja and Annette so Marco actually has the whole vocal in the recording. The Wembley gig was during our engagement and I made a SUPER high pitched squealing noise when I realised they were heading into this song. The original recording has a violin so Troy's Ebow just blew me away. I remember just slumping on the barrier and listening. It was magical. Also for anyone wondering. They went into Elan after this. 😃

I'm a guitarist, and I've never seen mastery of the e-bow like Troy shows here. The transients at start and finish are seriously hard to make clean, but Troy just does it like it's nothing.
@janusvb3 жыл бұрын
Probably you know this: In The Greatest Show On Earth ( Wembley version ), Troy also uses the E-bow. He plays the cello parts in the beginning and that is really an improvement especially in a live show. The second reason to watch that version of TGSOE is the ending where Richard Dawkins appears live on stage at the end. Overall, and as a musician Ik like that version a bit above the one in Tampere, although that one of course is nice because the "greatness" . @ donepearce, @Chace Carneson

I can't pretend to know absolutely ANYTHING about vocal techniques or anything about instruments or music at all, but I can proudly say I love Nightwish and am very familiar with their work. Everything they produce is a pure work of art. Everything from the smallest, intricate details in audio to the huge physical/visual elements. Every band member is so vital and a genius at what they do. Positive side note here: I absolutely ADORE when people talk about something they are so incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about. It makes your eyes spark with joy and you constantly smile. It just makes me so happy to hear and watch anyone talk about something they love and hold so dearly. So I obviously love watching you both get so excited when talking back and fourth about the technical aspects and explain what is going on with the music and vocals and how they bring up an emotion or how you can produce a certain sound with an instrument. That's stuff I have no knowledge of but watching y'all be so happy makes me happy in turn! It also helps me kinda learn a few things (the simple stuff my brain can comprehend.) Basically I'm just happy and learning things while y'all are happy and learning things. You both are so amazing and I'm a huge fan of you both, Julia and Chase! Much love and good vibes to everyone 🖤🌈🤘 I had originally posted that ^^ as 2 comments while I had paused on the live stream/live comments but the official live video was over so I'm not sure if they went through or not so I wanted to say it again just in case.

There's nothing I like more than watching two good friends are waxing lyrical on things they're passionate about, albeit the differences in expertise, but being so close in proximity because instruments and vocals are like milk and cereals. Julia shouldn't apologize for nerding out over the vocals, it's what we're here for. Troy's ebow was a nice touch and you were on-point about replicating the sound of violin / cello, because the violin was featured in the studio version instead of ebow. Other than that, the song structure and instrumentation-wise are pretty straightforward with anti-climatic ending (ha!) that I don't think you guys missed a beat. Even Julia's interpretation was spot on. Again, well done to both of you. Stellar status! Also, this is an upvote for a podcast or maybe another collab for Christmas :)

Yes, finally!! Can't wait for this one. One of my favourite songs and having Troy and Floor with Marco's lead vocals makes it perfection 👌😍🎶 x

One of their most under-rated songs! love❤ those two singing together .. no matter who has the lead. In my opinion Marko and Floor were created to sing together Looking forward to the reaction

Who is this song "underrated" by? As far as I know, most of the Nightwish fans love it. Another thing is that this song was originally released as a solo work by Tuomas and Marco for the Finnish movie "Lieksa!" and only later it was added as a b-side to the Nightwish single "Amaranth". Perhaps this is why it is rarely performed live. But in fact, Nightwish has too many great songs that it's become very difficult to make set lists so that there is time for their other songs besides the obvious hits and new songs.

@@SokolRock you don't have to explain it to me .. I know! But I meant the version with Floor. Personally, I think it is better than the one that is seen the most, and of which you just thought you had to give the full explanation.

@@marcovanschaik72 But most reactors watch the Wembley live version with Floor, not the music video.

Thank you both for another awesome collab video :D You two rock! You'll probably get haters talking about the length of the video, but 99% of us absolutely love the in depth detail you both go into, so keep up the awesome work. One of the highlights of my crappy week

this is brilliant, two technicians exploring their craft. the sum of the whole is more than the two halves.

Damn, this was such a good reaction. I love how you guys looked like you were totally entranced by the song, and I totally agree with your statement how you want more of the song and go back and listen again - I may have done this a time or two.

As a "writer" the phrase "I wrote a novel because I did not have the time to make it a short story" comes to mind as the two of you were waxing on about ballads. I Love how much I am learning from the two of you about why I love music. Neither one of you are lazy, fight me! And yes please more with the two of you.

I will never remark enough how much funny this woman is. You two should react to "The Day That The World Breaks Down", there's A LOT to talk about from both a musical and a vocal standpoint.

Thank you guys for this! 🌷 Beautiful reaction and so very informative! It concludes my amazing day after Floor's new cover! Think about making a podcast! You voices are so soothing and you do have interesting things to say. Plus, a reaction with Julia on vocal analysis, Tank on production analysis and Chase on musical analysis and holder of the pause button....sounds more than perfect!😉 Oh, where is the giveaway for the air drum kit? I want in! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
