Dull scythe is about pressing random keys on a piano until you find a perfect melody. That is why the song is so random at the beginning, and it sorts itself out at the end

Like the song is conscience and trying to fix itself to make something nice. Idk what it is but I love this one soo much.

Dull Scythe is apparently the first music i've actually heard that represent the feeling of the So-Called "Art Block" where you just couldn't think of what you're about to do, whether creating Music, Drawing Art, anything creative...

Trying to compare this to Worlds is probably the biggest thing Porter was worrying about. Worlds was huge for the EDM world and he's said before that he doesn't think he'd be able to make that kind of sound ever again.

I really like dullscythe, it seems like a song trying to make itself. Idk what it is about this song but it's more of an experience than an actual bop you'd play at a party or something.

I think understanding the the backstory for the album were porter was in a creative block for almost 7 years him struggling with depression and unable to find himself being stuck in his studios for days on end then he finally decided to travel the world and get his love for making music and inspiration back is so beautiful to me and what makes this album in particular very special to me as i can relate to some of that in a way
@JenkemWatchman2 жыл бұрын
Mother, Musician, Mirror, and Blossom are probably my favorites from this Album. The others are all amazing too, don't get me wrong but those 4 are just damn beautiful, whether it's the song itself or the messages they bring. *also love how experimental dullscythe is, with the random beats and how it literally travels across your head from ear to ear with headphones on*

Im a bit late xd but at the first listening i really liked something comforting and look at the sky like for my ears it was "easy" sounds to understand and i really love these song. But dulsscythe and Wind tempos were like for my ears i knew it was good but i could not understand i dont know how to say this xd. After like 5 listen of wind tempos i fell in love with this song, same with dulsycthe and its just more than music for me. I discover this album 2 Month ago and it literraly change my vision of it i just experiment feelings i did not know it was possible to feel it's like. Listening to this album is just peace hope and joy even with these "sad" melodies !!! Today i'm just skipping mother but i know in a moment of my life i will listen to it because it was this for others song of the album. THX PORTER

Really? Most peoples criticism seemed to go the other direction, that he mixed too many styles and just ended up with an album without any concrete style.
@precisemotion3 жыл бұрын
Literally how, you're entitled to our own opinion but this is just objectively incorrect? Like how the fuck does something comforting sound anything like blossom or anything like wind tempos or anything like mirror? They share a similar pallete but to call them same-soundy is basically just factually incorrect?
@huckleberri52503 жыл бұрын

@Truth Be Told I disagree. Nurture is nothing like worlds. Worlds was more of a distant destination that we wish we were at while nurture was more of a enjoying the moment you are at type of vibe
