Just got around to watching Gonjiam! It didn’t scare me BECAUSE what scares me is typically the realistic horror like home invasions, but I more than get why anyone would be frightened of it! It's a boring movie. There's a LOT of filler before it ever goes anywhere interesting. Then the payoff is like, oh, okay, makes sense. Was it a groundbreaking revelation? No. Did I need 90+ minutes for it to get there? No.
@lessismore8533Ай бұрын
@@dallasoleary187”boring” is subjective dude. I DO agree there’s a lot of filler and the 1998 Ring had better pacing BUT cut Gore Verbinski some slack. He did DECENT competing with the 98 classic. Could you do better? Either way, the Ring still made 250mill at box office and scared MANY ppl back then. It got video stores shut down, and Newer horror films like ‘It Follows’ or ‘Smile’ took inspiration from it. So the 2002 Ring DID have undeniable impact like it or not.

Listen, I love The Ring- Samara still terrifies me and 7 days come on now its classic line you use it unironically or ironically without realizing where it comes from, but I will say this as a millennial growing up with it for it’s time it was definitely terrifying for me. it is so scary but I can understand why probably GenZ and Gen Alpha doesn’t like it. Like they dont even have VCR or VHS tapes anymore, so I think that this generation doesn’t appreciate horror the same way that my millennial brain does especially now that everything is so brain rot.

Gen Z /alpha are too YOUNG and missed out! If I were Gen Z it probably wouldn’t scare me as everyone knows the climax now even those who haven’t seen the film . BUT as a millennial, ppl who saw the film in 2002 got the BEST experience. Before parodies and overexposure ruined it..
