I saw Red Velvet and I clicked. Thank God I did because I enjoyed watching this video as a 3rd gen kpop girl group enthusiast. I love these 4 groups so much and each of them offer different on the table but I am so in love with Red Velvet because of their out of this world vocals and HARMONIZATION that no other group can replicate their sound 🥰 Just like what you said, all of them sound so good and no one outshine the other. That's one of the main reasons why Red Velvet has the best vocal group in kpop. They all sound so different individually but when they sing together, they create a new sound that is only for them. A sound and genre that only them could pull off. That's Red Velvet for you, they will remind you that they are singers. 😊 Red Velvet offers everything, they are known as b-side queens and concept queens because they offer different concept on their every comeback. For me, i think all these groups are talented and amazing, but I think getting into mamamoo first spoiled it for me by me being exposed to that level of vocals so early. They are the reason why I got into kpop and i love the quality, tone and style of their music :) I hope she can see more, I think Starry Night, gogobebe and decalcomanie might be ones she'd enjoy !

MAMAMOO is top-tier 👌 They actually remind me of BTS in the sense they came from a small company and literally had to do everything themselves at the start to put their group out there (i.e. promotions, styling themselves, writing/producing their songs, flyering free concerts just to promote themselves, not living in the best conditions, etc.) A rags to riches kinda story! They're not internationally popular on the same level as BTS or BLACKPINK for example, but they're successful in their own right. That and their live vocals and performances are always so much better than their studio versions 😊

Yes, Solar does more belting and Wheein has the softer falsettos. Though Wheein is VERY capable of belting too (can see it in their immortal songs), she used to do it more often but doesn't do it anymore since her style is more RnB and Solar just has the "role" in the group. Thanks for giving Twice's music a chance, they have been in the industry for 7 years now (going to 8) and have escaped the dreaded K-Pop 7 year curse. You can get to know our girls with the updated 2022 Helpful guide (almost an hour guide with discography) The girls have also had a successful 2 day Korean concert and on their way to Australia for their ReadyToBe World Tour. (headed to a few major US cities afterwards). For discography, it's best to listen to it in release order so you can see there growth thru the years.

Actually, the "K-pop 7 year curse" is not anything mysterious. Under Korean law, a contract for more than 7 years between an entertainment company/record label and any artist under that company...is unenforceable, in order to avoid "slave contracts" (i.e. where a young newbie starts out with a weak bargaining position but can never renegotiate terms 9, 10 or more years later). As a result, both the company and artists are free to go their separate ways after 7 years. But top groups most often don't disband after 7 years (unless the group is falling apart for other reasons). The company wants to keep them and they're usually better off sticking with their original company. OTOH, a company is only too happy to get rid of a group that is not very popular, so the 7-year rule also gives them an escape.

I love all these groups. I do think hearing their newer songs would give you a better feel for them all. Mamamoo’s HIP and Ilella are bangers. TWICE’s The Feels and Talk the Talk are really great. As for Blackpink, she is right they are a little harder sounding as they come from a more hip hop oriented record label but I think it’s a disservice to say all their songs sound the same. For them I’d recommend Pink Venom or Lovesick Girls.

It's better for u to use headphones Mamamoo's vocals r no joke RV's layered voices add so much details Musicwise, There r so many great kpop to hear 2. Pls consider pausing the videos if u wanna ask or discuss something. Otherwise u probably will miss some parts that can hook u into the songs 3. Do reactions to the latest releases from the groups OR Do the ones with highest views in YT Once u commit to a certain groups, u can start marathon MV reaction from their earliest to latest. It can help u to see their growth through years 4. If there r some factors in kpop that can turn u off (ie : too many members, high pitched voices, concept, etc), u can discuss with ur friend which groups u should avoid watching (or less reaction compared to others) Since it's new to u, i hope u enjoy doing it Peace 😮

Red Velvet was the group that brought me into Kpop but i ended up being a Once (Twice fan). Twice has such a wide discography and each member have a unique sound, dance, and stage presence. Its amazing how they are always synchronized

I once showed some of my photography to a friend. I was proud of the images-the colors, the composition, as well as the result of my ever increasing skills with photoshop. Imagine my disappointment when all my friend could say was, “oh, these are kind of artsy”. And he wasn’t saying it as a compliment. As you can see from the comments, some of us are disappointed by this reaction video. As if costumes and makeup were what mattered most, the core emotional content of these songs wasn’t even up for discussion. It’s like someone commented on an epic story: “It’s about a castle. I like castles.” Yes, it’s about a castle, and perhaps the lives of its inhabitants. Look, those of us who noticed the talking over the music aren’t expecting this to be taken as seriously as a proper music appreciation course. But maybe try again. How about a TikTok challenge: Watch the first minute and a half of Mamamoo’s “Where are We Now?” without commenting on the outfits. Or the hair styles. Or any other of the visuals, for that matter. Then stop after a minute and a half (right after Solar’s belt). Then start watching Mamamoo’s “I Miss You” MV from MNet’s Queendom competition. Stop after-you guessed it, Solar’s belt. Then decide if that squirrel outside waving for your attention needs checking out (‘cause is that a Gucci hairnet it’s wearing?) or whether maybe it’s time to go back and finish listening to those two songs. Maybe turn the captions on and start again from the beginning. And ignore the pissed-off squirrel staring in through your window.❤

With Red Velvet, the red side is more of the fun, upbeat, poplike songs. The velvet side consist more of r&b, sultry, and dark/haunting themes. There are times when both sides mix together too. But they are known for their versitility and wide range of sounds and aesthetics. As well as them being a mostly vocal group. Even though Irene and Yeri are rappers they do have nice singing voices too
