This video is so vital and healing! People will definitely imply or directly say you can just will your way out of mental illness as if we haven't tried that lmao. Then they expect you to lie about how you're feeling. Both of these really damage your self-esteem like you said. Corporations, the government, and universities pushing self-care throughout this pandemic has been driving me crazy too.

Thanks for saying that!! Tbh I've been feeling kinda insecure/like I was too vulnerable with that part lmao. People have really been connecting to that part of the video which is really validating. I'm re-realizing how superficial people are and it has been driving me up a wall lately. 😒

The fact that my eyes got big at the same point as yours is hilarious. The section about "How are you?" and the beginning of the pandemic struck home for me. Ive really felt in a way like I've wasted this time where I could be releasing content to achieve my goals but I haven't felt inspiration and the news hasn't helped at all. I'm also seeing how friends are releasing things and making moves and that has hurt my mental health as well. Then getting to the "how are you" I hate that question because I always say I'm okay and people get offended as if I need to perform for you. Okay for me is the best example of balance for me. It gives very let's gaslight this person's feelings to me. Anyway beside the paragraph lol this was another great video.

Aw im sorry to hear that bro 😔 I know what you mean about the comparison thing. I really think it's unfair to yourself to compare your journey with other people's. Everybody is different. Hope you're managing today 🙏🏾❤

ive been so behind on all of your videos its curious how u said that bc of the pandemic u just havent been able to focus which is how ive felt w so many things i enjoyed watching on youtube. i loved learning and all of that good stuff. its been over 3 years and im still pretty much the same. still cant focus and cant rly do anything i rly loved this content though im still learning how to pinpoint what exactly constitutes as toxic positivity.. sometimes its easy but sometimes it feels like its coated in smth else that makes it hard to distinguish it if that makes sense? also the thing abt being ok is smth i always said. im curious if ur also autistic bc i tend to relate to a lot of things that u say or maybe its some other form of neorudivergence that im feeling? obv dont answer that if its too personal love getting back into ur vids even if it takes me a lot longer than normal 🥲

Performing happiness resonates. I don’t even ask “how are you” anymore. I’m just like heyyy there 🤷🏽‍♂️ . our culture is so fake lol hard to participate sometime
