There is an important lesson opportunity for Story here. You need to stay strong and demonstrate to her that no matter how bad things get in life, there is always hope for the future. I was in Kruger National Park many years ago. A Ranger told me that yes Elephants can be destructive. But often that destruction creates circumstances for new growth. For example tearing a bow off a tree allows plants to germinate and grow in the shelter of that discarded dead branch. Your priorities are right. Get the house weatherproof. Then I'd clear up the broken glass so that in particular Poppy does not injure herself and can run free. I think the purchase of a chainsaw might be a useful tool to turn those trees into manageable logs. The place will look a whole lot better once those trees are removed.

Resiliency is not a good thing and shouldn't be seen in a positive light. What we should do as 'Filipinos' is to improve infrastructure, invent things that will help us protect against storms. It breaks my heart to see this. The climate crisis is real. Storms like this that go from a low end typhoon to a high end Super Typhoon like Haiyan (Yolanda) in less than 24 hours is becoming the new normal. It’s happening here in the United States as well. On a positive note, you'll get to experience Pilipino resiliency firsthand. This will make you stronger in times of calamities like this. Everything in life is temporary we'll never know what will happen the next day just live our life one day at a time and let's cherish every moment that we have, life goes on we can all recover from this, slowly but we will.

It also happened here in Western Visayas when part of our province was severely hit by Yolanda, first sight was terrifying and heartbreaking you wouldnt know how people could recover but after a year I visited the place, everything is back to normal as if nothing happened at all. I'm sure Siargao wil rise again.

Appreciation and love to Jay,Sasha and Story ..oneness after the tragedy and has easily recovered..Siargao will rise again with a good government we have now. Stay Safe Always..

Joyce Apilan. -. Appreciate your positivity but I can't agree on "good government", I hardly think so ! But surely the people and their paradise will rise again thanks to their strong will and innate resiliency. In the words if JFKennedy - " ask not what your country can do for you...." and completed in the perspective of Philippine political leadership..." ask what you can do for ... (yourself) .....sigh !!! Praying for everyone and may God bless us all even in the US where there have natural disasters in many states as well.

The good government aren't even there in a week. It's a shame there aren't any low level drug pushers/ users on siargiao they're aware of as they are very efficient at killing them. Perhaps if "Duterte Harry' applied himself to this and other natural disasters the way he did offing drug addicts they might get somewhere.

@@willsmith39 I guess you've never lived in a developing country that has been constantly been struck by natural disasters. They simply do not have enough funds, man power or equipment to be there ASAP. The Philippines is also an archipelago which makes it harder to travel especially during a typhoon. The storm might have passed but it doesn't mean the ocean is calmer. Even the US is slow at responding and we're supposedly a first world nation. 😑🙄
@willsmith393 жыл бұрын
@@Moss_piglets I live in a developing country right now so you are not terrific at guessing as well as being clearlly challenged at recognising good governance. Our government leaves much to be desired but at least we are not run by a murderous thug.
