It's semi scripted, it's mostly improvised but some big parts that has to happen and canon deaths are usually scripted and most of the times people only know what they have to do and not the others. That's what makes their reactions so genuine

Actually, the eulogy is based off of a fanfic called "Passerine" which is basically an AU with the sleepy bois inc. (Philza Minecraft, Technoblade, Wilbur Soot and Tommyinnit). It has gotten very popular because of how well written it is and how well thought out the plot was, plus, it's incredibly sad, haha! If you want and can, to better understand the animation, you could read the fanfiction itself, it's very good and, as previously mentioned, could definitely help you better grasp just how intense and sad it actually is. Love the shirt in combo with the hair by the way, looks nice :]

The Dream SMP follows scripted improvisation, meaning very big plot elements, such as Wilbur or Schlatt's deaths, were planned, but anything smaller than that were not. Quotes and the majority of interactions are completely improvised, meaning many reactions are genuine. And scripting has only been a recent addition; in the beginning, before it was even a roleplay server, nothing was planned. For example, Eret's betrayal was completely unexpected and the members' reactions were very genuine. That's part of what makes the Dream SMP so compelling, in my opinion.

More information: An au where Philza had abandoned Techno and started a family, and an empire. Techno eventually finds him and meets his 2 children, Tommy and Willbur, Tommy being the younger brother ofc. Techno takes it upon himself to train Wilbur in “the art of the blade” and eventually Tommy as well. Long story short, their mother die so Phil, their father, runs away. Wilbur inherits the throne, until a war happens because everyone was too afraid to attack them because Phil was very strong. Tommy ends up dying just as Phil had come back.

When you say “this feels more intricate then most tv shows” its actually because Wilbur writes the script and is incredibly good at it. Wilbur is an amazing writer and you can tell that from the SMP, his ARG, and even his songs. Also it’s difficult for most people to keep up with the SMP, like I’m sure there’s a million small arcs and character facts that I still have no idea about.

about the first one: i actually recommend you watch manhunts,not even for reaction purposes they're just really fun to watch. and that first animation was actually made using her finger because at the time she didnt have a drawing tablet. about the second one: its based off of a fanfiction actually! so the plot and everything entirely fanmade. its a very popular fanfic in the community and has a reputation of making people cry and having amazing writing. :D

I think Sad-ist's animatics were what got a lot of people, myself included, into the dream smp plot initially, so they definitely hold a very special place in our hearts, but Late August is another really big animator in the community who's done some really really cool work :)

It depends on the person and how confident they are, some of the members script more than others, some will just loosley know what they want to achieve others might have some more specific sentences planned they want to say. I love it either way and Sadists animations make it look even more epic.

Agreed! I'd love to see him react to evan's videos. Although he does leave out most of Ranboo's lore- but there's other videos about his lore. And Quackity too- honestly though, both Ranboo and Quackity's lore is best to be watched through their own streams. EvanMCGaming's videos focus more on Tommy and Tubbo's POVs, which is fine in the beginning since they are very much like main characters, but lately lore has focused much more around other characters. Evan's videos are still good though!

Fun fact: Techno actually plays the violin in real life! They script like an outline of what's meant to happen and then they improve it. Like in the Pogtopa arc, Tubbo was meant to go with Wilbur and Tommy, but Jschlatt made Tubbo stay in L'manburg (which lead to him being a spy and being killed at the festival).

So I will explain sunsprites eulogy. So this is based of a fanfic called passerine including the sbi(Phil, techno, Wilbur and Tommy as well as mumza/Kristen) in the fanfic techno and philza are gods that are basically immortal and used to cause chaos across the realm together, until Phil left techno ofc. Then techno found a kingdom, found out Phil was ruling said kingdom, Phil begged techno to stay and train his sons(Wilbur and Tommy) in combat, techno did that, then mumza died and Phil ran away, Wilbur was crowned King as a young teen, oh right! Wilbur also hears voices like techno and plays guitar to sooth them(techno plays violin in the fanfic). Then there was a war, then Tommy and Tubbo ALMOST met, then niki executes the plan Wilbur set in place killing her in the process, then the war is almost over, there's the war god. Phil comes back and kills the war got aka sapnap and then in the war gods final breath he throws his sword directly into Tommy's heart and we get alot of description on everyone's thoughts and actions as Tommy is dying in wilburs arms TuT, techno has a moment, Wilbur yells at techno, techno breaks down and that's all I know! There's probably more chapters I haven't read or something so yeah, I gave the main plot and there's alot that I missed out of it so yeah! It's a good read or listen, there's audio books on KZbin for it! But yeah, I can also explain manhunt and any dreamsmp lore possible. I have watched most major lore vods since techno came into the plot(techno got me into mcyts and then dsmp so yeah) and I always keep up with it, I know all the lore that happened before techno as I went back and watched old Tubbo and Wilbur streams as well as things like dreamsmp the musical and as many animatics and animations as I can! I have revised more dreamsmp lore than I have for French so yeah

a lot of it is improvised but they also have a script for big events or if something is supposed to happen in the storyline it's because the reactions of the events are 100% genuine

Okay, you have to check out some of the things that Hyun's Dojo did. I recommend starting with deadly runners, Defend the Diamond, and the Imitator 1 and 2. The music they use is amazing and the sync the animation like putting bread on butter.

the eulogy one is actually based off of a fanfic called passerine and it is really good. the basic storyline is: tommy and wilbur are two princes who's father (philza) calls an old friend (technoblade) to help wilbur learn how to fight and cope with the voices he hears in his head. tommy and wilbur's mom is very sick. one night, technoblade bangs on wilbur's bedroom door, waking him up, and leads him to the mother and father's room where they find the mother dead and little tommy crying at her feet and a note from the father saying he had to leave. 16 year old wilbur becomes the king and eventually, a war begins. tommy is determined to fight in it with wilbur and ends up dying in the war. the father comes back and he, techno, and wilbur go on a quest to find the green god who can supposedly revive people, in hopes that he will revive tommy and the mother. the green god isn't everything they thought he was though i recommend reading it, it's really good but it's really long lol

Passarine spoilers 4:07 phil is begging techno to help him with Wilbur (they both have voices) and technos still upset about phil abandoning him 4:30 Tommy screams bc his mom is yaknow dead, the other 2 run in, Phil left a note before leaving, techno helps wilbur with voices Wilbur has to take over with everything since Phil had created the place and ran it (Phil and techno are immortal) Tommy dies in a war and Wilbur feels bad, it's not in the anamatic but they try to find a "god" that can help They find dream and he tells them he cant help and says how hes seen them in past lifes and Tommy never lives past 16
