[Reacting To] SKZ REPLAY - DEEP END (Felix) - I Just Want To Hug Felix And Never Let Go...

I was told to prepare for this song as it was very emotional, but I don't think any preparation could prepare you for the sheer sadness that accompanies one of the cleverest use of one's voice I have ever heard in my life. Felix's Deep End is both one of the most heartbreaking songs I have ever heard whilst being one of my favourite songs in terms of sheer genius in it's production. I think he crushed it, but I want to just protect him with every fiber of my being.

This validates every time Chan fought for him, the faith he had in Felix and vision he had. Chan saw this in him and it is so amazing that Felix has the confidence now to show off the amazing talent he has. This song is so hauntingly beautiful and an emotional masterpiece! Felix is a phenomenal talent, so much more than the guy with the deep voice. He broke everyone with this… and you are every stay right now that just wants to hug him. Great reaction 🖤

@@atgnireactions5343 I noticed in the 143 First Take especially how much more confidence they had… all they fought for has been worth it and there’s even more of a swag to them now. Still the humble, cool and amazingly nice men they have always been just now their hard work is being rewarded and they are enjoying their success. I am totally here for it. I will not stop singing the praises of Felix for his range and ability to evoke such raw emotion. Those that shine the brightest always have the darkest opposite and I think Felix said that it wasn’t a specific relationship but from his own imagination of how something like that could be portrayed. All the men are just amazingly talented but I will forever shout from the roof tops just how wonderfully intuitive and generous Chan is as leader. The man is phenomenally talented himself but all his effort goes into making the rest of the members shine as much as possible. I adore him and he is the best leader no question.

Felix is one of the most happy people I have seen....But he has a solid core. One that gets overlooked because he is such a ray of sunshine. During his little bit in the intro to Maxident, he has such a profound outlook. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHPJcml9os-kr7c A lot of people overlook the fact that the line he quotes from Hellevator is his core that he builds on. He is happiness & sunshine, but at his core he is also dark, and painful. Personally, I don't think someone has truly put him through what he sang about.....I hope....But he has the ability to understand the emotions & vocalize them in a poignant way. The ability to use his high register to paint a vulnerable picture of pain.....Just....Yeah. And the layering of his vocals. So many layers. The ambient whispers? Ethereal. That deep bass voice that sends shivers down your soul? The way he shifts his tonal quality for the mid ranges? Perfect. Felix has a unique ability to shift how he sings, depending on what is called for. He is a bit of a vocal chameleon. In Taste, some of his lines are hauntingly close to how Hyunjin sounds. In 24 to 25, his one high line sounds extremely close to Han's voice. In The Sound, he does the "Whooaa woaa whooah" section & sounds extremely similar to Chan. There are more examples, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

oh no, this was 100% Lee Felix. it does feel like a different person but that's just how good the man is. once he releases his full vocal potential he could be unstoppable, so i hope he realizes how much we love it and gets more confident

This is one of my favorite songs from the album, not only because of his amazing vocals but also because this song is super relatable to me. I’ve been in that situation twice in my life where I’ve attached myself to someone because they make me feel like I’m not alone or dead inside when I was with them and then suddenly they abandoned me and I felt like I was drowning. This song revealed so many emotions I had berried inside deep in my heart and I legit cried for like 30 minutes after hearing this song for the first time because of how much it reminded me of myself and it made me come to terms with many emotions I was too scared to process. Hearing the song made me feel like I wasn’t alone in my feelings yet I hope that this song came from inspiration and not personal experience because thinking about Felix going through what I did breaks my heart. This song is really important to me and I hope Felix knows how much he is loved and appreciated and how much his song meant to me.

This song is so subtle and powerful in how well put together it is. Even from the lyrics, the sort of 'how've you been, I guess you're fine' opening just sets up so clearly that he still cares but he doesn't expect an answer. Like, I did a writing degree and these lyrics are so well constructed when you pull into them. The switch to the sweet higher voice for the wistful recall of how this person made him feel, the falsetto that sounds a little like that weak cry after you've been sobbing as he begs for the pain to stop. It's so cleverly constructed and I'm so proud of him. This was his first solo song and he went from being too nervous to even sing in front of ppl but practicing so hard, to making this stunning piece of art that really showed him off. I'm so excited to see how he matures as he gets more and more confidence with his voice and writing.

This one sent tears down cheeks for many of us, myself included. Thank you for your reaction to Felix aka Yongbok, our treasure who needs to be protected (not that he isn't able to do so himself but dayam, this one wakes the protector in all of us). Ahhhh I was waiting for this one!! It's one of the most amazing but emotionally impactful songs I've ever heard. I always still wonder who this is about and what happened... Also, he had a big hand in the composing, not just singing, which I thought was really cool for him His full range is always so crazy to me, and I love his higher register so much; I'd love to hear it more sometimes (like in "Surfin'") - and I feel like when he sings he's so good at conveying emotion and bringing his voice so close to you. This song was produced with Sim Eunjee, who produces primarily for Twice and other girl groups under JYPE. Chan mentioned in one of his lives that they specifically recorded Felix's vocals in the format styling of ASMR to keep his vocals raw and very forward. I don't think your assessment of his higher register is wrong or disrespectful, so don't feel like you have to defend your opinion. You were clear and articulate in your comment and it (to me) was evident that it was not meant with any malice. I also took away that he is still developing his higher register - and from lives he's done in the past, he is still building toward that level of confidence in his higher register that he has with his lower register. But if this song is any indication of his growth in range and bravery to create a piece like this, I cannot wait to see what he will create in the future. Since this song, there has already been more higher vocal Felix in SKZ songs (especially on the bsides of The Sound - and that high falsetto at the end of Taste). Brings me back to his high notes in Hero's Soup and Glow.

I think the reason at first you thought he wasn't as strong in his high vocals is because it was not only breathy but sung with so much emotion. I held off so long from listening to it because the emotions i knew it was going to pull from me.

the different ranges appear to be (low) speaking as an adult, (mid) singing voice (high) as a little boy crying himself to sleep after a loss he can't really understand. I'm going to cry all day. I think we all feel that kind of alone-ness at some point . He's so empathetic he just knows That is a sign of the strength that he has.

One of my favourite SKS songs is Hero's Soup - kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3mcf5xoosSHpLs The original Glow performance (GLOW team, Changbin, Lee Know and Felix) also surprised even the members - kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5Cti5umqt2KhJI - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYjclXhqrt90q80 I am assuming that Felix, like Seungmin and IN does vocal lessons (I know he and Hyunjin were studying the piano) because his vocals have definitely improved. Considering he auditioned as a dancer only. I think he is like Han and get inspiration from all sorts of places. I don't like to think of him being hurt that badly. At the same time I don't want him to think he always has to be 'sunshine' and hide when he is miserable.

It may be because I can unfortunately relate to it but when the album came out I listened to it, bawled my eyes out for a good 30min and then looped it for another hour after listening to the rest of the side. I still tear up whenever it came up or listening with you here, but it has more of a cathartic effect on me now. Deep End, I Hate To Admit and Streetlight one after another can and will break the strongest do i do NOT recommend combining them 😂 thank you for your reaction love, see you next time 💗
