By the way, Chuck, Pryce and Jasmine are all equivalent levels, as when you defeat Morty, you can go to either Cianwood or Mahogany, making either of them the 5th Leader, however it is the norm that you go to the Lighthouse, then Chuck, then Jasmine, then the Lake of Rage and Rocket Hideout, THEN Pryce, which is why Mahogany seems so lacklustre, as that part of Johto is technically open-world, which does make it super-unbalanced, that's the price they had to pay.

Fun fact: originally, the Charizard shiny was planned to be purple coloured like the dragonite one.. Because of an error made by an employee, the games had the black one

Charizard's shiny WAS purple and green in gen 2. From gen 3 onwards Charizard's shiny has been some variant of black and red which means it was probably intentional for it to have the current colors. The gen 2 colors were possibly due to tech limitations on the gameboy.

None of this was right... Pokémon shinies are based of swapped color palettes in gen 5 and below. In gen 2 (G/S/C), the shiny Charizard was indeed purple. Gen 3 onwards had a much different color palette than gen 2, causing the Black and red one we know and love.
