@Spooky Mulder Given that she specifically states that she has already seen Alien once, not really. Unless you mean a spoiler to all the people in the comments section, in which case I have to say that since the movie is from 1979, it may be a bit late to complain about spoilers.

Fun fact the reason why they joked about merchandise so much when there was none to be had was due to copyright. The only way mel Brooks could make this movie and parody so much from star wars was because George Lucas gave him the go ahead on the agreement that there would be no merchandise due to the powers that be thinking parents would get confused and buy spaceballs actionfigures instead of star wars cutting into their sales.
@ryankelly369

My favorite joke in all of Spaceballs is the slow reveal of the ship at the beginning of the film. The way the soundtrack goes from ominous to impatient to bored in its pacing, until it gives only a half-hearted effort at the end, is hilarious and subtle.

Really glad you enjoyed Spaceballs :) it’s pure, silly fun. When you’re looking for another Mel Brooks comedy, I’d definitely recommend Robin Hood: Men in Tights, or if you’re feeling adventurous, Blazing Saddles. Blazing Saddles will absolutely be a shock to the system I think. It’s very much one of Mel Brooks’ edgier works, and certainly not something that could ever be made today (despite, personally thinking that we need a new movie like it more than ever). Looking forward to seeing you watch Alien, and hopefully Aliens not long after. They are two absolutely classic movies, and gave us one of the most badass women in film in the form of Ellen Ripley. Sigourney Weaver is such a fantastic actress, and gives an incredibly powerful performance in the role, especially in Aliens.
