Good morning everyone! 😊 This video was wayyyy longer than anticipated: I just didn't want to leave anyone out that sent in pictures ❤️. SO, if you're looking for your specific tank or you're looking for a type of tank for a specific animal, the video is sectioned off, and there's also time stamps in the description box. Hopefully that helps out. I hope everyone has a wonderful week! 🥰

There's some really pretty tanks but they seem so small for a bearded dragon. I'm laying out plans and doing the research now to get my first bearded dragon and I'm looking to build a 2'6"x 5' x 2'6" tall (234 gallon). Sliding glass front full length, screen top and screen upper 1/3 of the sides. It would have a lip at the top front that comes down 4" and the full length uv light will be behind it so it will never be seen. I'm also thinking of a double bottom with a highly textured tile. Under the tile will be a warming pad to gently heat some of the tile from underneath. Due to it's height it will have a dual level basking area. The lamp will be angled twards the back slightly so you don't see the bulb glare from it either. There will be openable back with a very slight slant to the upper tile so when you open the glass front and the back you can use a pump up sprayer to basically hose the floor clean without taking the tank apart. Got a lot more research to do, thankyou for your videos they help alot.

Mine is the leopard gecko tank with the username unique_naomi. I found the backgrounds at petsmart as part of their thrive line. Also I didn’t even end up trying out the carpet but I’m glad I didn’t because one time when I was feeding my leopard gecko he got his teeth caught on paper towel that’s in the corner where he poops. So I think if he could get his teeth caught on that then the carpet would be just as bad. Also I would like to upgrade him to exi terra large n low. He has enough room but he uses all his space right now and I think he would use the additional space.

really don’t recommend the carpet in general as it’s known to harbor bacteria and just generally unsanitary. I hope this info helps you!

Don’t support petco, they’re horrible to their animals
@jacoblopez51934 жыл бұрын
Tony Flamingo Sucks it really depends on each location... , although where they get the animals isn’t best , some locations do really care about the animals and some don’t, don’t blame the whole company.... i think buying products from them is completely fine, but yes usually it’s best not to support the animal sales due to where they get the animals from ...
@tonyflamingosucks65904 жыл бұрын
Jacob Lopez goherping made a video calling petco’s around the entire country and they all get reptiles from mass breeders with bad reputations. Plus the workers give false information way too often and manyyyy of the reptiles shipped to them develop diseases, parasites, bone diseases and die while shipping. They put like 100 animals of the same breed together in big tubs with no heating or hides and they stay in there for days (a lot of the reptiles fight and hurt each other)
@jacoblopez51934 жыл бұрын
Tony Flamingo Sucks yes that is true most of the time petco stores are going to have uneducated employees, animals going in sick, and getting them from mass breeders isn’t good on corporates part..... but I personally don’t think because of where they get the animals and the way some stores treat the animals you should stop supporting petco(petsmart) completely and not even buy supplies that you need for you’re pets from there..... instead just stop supporting them carrying animals. And that’s it.
@jacoblopez51934 жыл бұрын
Tony Flamingo Sucks but what I was trying to say in general was to not blame the whole company because not all of the stores treat the animals bad..... just still stop supporting them to keep selling animals because they don’t come from good places..

Hey great video, i was wondering where you get the rack for the tanks i need one for three 20gallon long tanks
@stuckinthelazycorneragain40164 жыл бұрын
Hiya! 2 questions. I’m choosing between a 150 and 210 gallon tank for my beardie and am wondering if 150g is good enough? I could get the 210g but I would have to throw away a bookcase in my room so I’d rather not BUT if 150 isn’t good enough I will of course get the 210. My second question is how often to rotate between insects? I want to use Dubias as my main feeder, do I need to use another one too? I really don’t want crickets. Hornworms/BSFL/Silkworms aren’t available where I live. I’m skeptical about Mealworms (because of Lizardguru) and Superworms arent for babies/juveniles I heard? Not sure what to feed protein wise aside from Dubias...
@ellesreptiles4 жыл бұрын
150 is definitely fine! The more room the better, but 150 is great 😊 (40g is the bare minimum so 150g is over triple that) I basically just do mostly dubias, and throw in something different about once a week, or if I get something special for all the reptiles. I like to throw in hornworms about once a monthish (I know you said you can't get those though), waxworms about once or twice a month , and very rarely crickets (😬 I hate them too haha). I only do crickets when I have extra from feeding the spiders. When she was a baby though, she only ever wanted crickets and waxworms. There's also butterworms and red runner roaches 😊

I have spent 100's of dollars for an anole that my grandson won mid July 2019. First waste of money was a little pink critter keeper and a fake plant. Then a bioactive. The bioactive replaced by silk plants, frog foam( i know, I wanted it soft for her) and moss carpet and now bioactive again. You really should go bioactive like you said.

I feel like these tanks are poorly setup, they lack lighting, are too small, or arent well utilized.

Use your head it's probally a mercury vapor bulb telling someone they need to change there lighting when you don't even have a clue about different types of lighting is really lame. 😎

Yikes. 😬 Looking past the unnecessary assumptions and rudeness (from this comment and the other where you were calling names). Mercury vapor bulbs are not a sufficient source of UV light for a bearded dragon. Other than the obvious reasons of placement issues with MVBs (which I'm sure you're aware of), IF they are placed correctly for heat and UV output, they are still only providing UV light while the animal is basking. Because of bearded dragons' high UV requirements, they need linear UV lighting that spans the tank (or at least 2/3 of the tank). I have an entire video going over all the different kinds of lighting in relation to bearded dragons, if you need more information on any of them. 😊 I sincerely hope you have a wonderful day, and a happy New Year! 🥰

And he is even staying someone's dragon is to hot dragons pant all the time that is how the release the heat and digest the food. He could also hqve a respiratory problem. So you don't know the problem for a pic. 😁

And yes they are sufficient enought you need to do research. I have used them every since they hit the market .Your husband is making assumptions and that is just wrong. I also have a tester that cost around $300 they put out more then any other light on the market if you don't buy the no name junk brands. I have tested them all.

Yep! Just a guess based off panting on the cool side and the information provided to me privately. We're not vets (as stated on every video posted). I spoke with each person who sent in pictures that we were concerned about, as the pictures were sent via private messages on IG, Twitter, and email. If I remember correctly, the guy with the panting dragon's temps were too hot, because a temp gun wasn't being used, one of the tanks with only one bulb was waiting for the other light to come in the mail, and a couple of the small tanks were going to be upgraded soon.

I have kept an bred them since they were 1st imported years ago. they will go to the heat source over the uvb so it best to have the uvb source over the basking area. And the heat tucked right off the edge. That is if your using to bulbs but mercury vapor do both. Invest in a tester you will see they produce plenty of both. Have a great day
