Your comment reminded me of The Golden Girls and how Blanche's initials spelled bed. My grandfather went to school with a girl who got yelled at by the teacher for writing a "dirty" word on the chalkboard when the students were told to write their initials and the girl had to explain. She had two middle names, and her initials spelled F. A. R. T. Also, her first name was Fanny, so that's even worse, especially if you live in some parts of the world where fanny is a slang term for something besides your butt.

Yeaah there have been multiple tarquins as emperor but they were all pretty bad, the only emperors that are relatively decent are ceasar, august and claudius, and even those are iffy.

The only advice I give expectant parents is the advice I received: Call the shortened and long name out the back door. Try it both as if you're calling for tea and as if the child's done something wrong. As a parent, you will do both, and whatever name you chose has to sound right when you call it.

Oh my goodness, yes! That even applies to pet names. I had a family member suggest a name for my kitten and I had to tell them a that it was a hard NO on that name suggestion , because of certain students with the same name 😂! Every teacher has a list of names that are “dead” to them 😂!

Nicknames aren't easy for some names. My daughters name is Autumn and I had no idea how you could make a cutesy name for that. Luckily she solved that for us. She was a baby and saw a picture of herself in our hallway, she pointed at herself in the picture and said 'Autie'. We still call her that to this day and I love how it happened.💗

Another interesting thing to consider: initials and any inherited jewelry. For example, my name starts with an R, as does my grandmother's. As a result, I inherited a fair amount of R jewelry. By a weird twist of fate, my partner's mother's name also starts with an R, so more R-based jewelry. It has been decided that, should we ever have a child, said child will also need to have an R name, lest the jewelry go unworn. (for the record, I am aware of how silly this is)

My brother almost convinced some friends to name their new son Richard Edward, they wanted traditional but sounding good together and loved the combination. It was only later he had to tell them to use the alternative and abbreviated versions together that they realised the joke. Also, always check that the initials work okay.
