Your comment reminded me of The Golden Girls and how Blanche's initials spelled bed. My grandfather went to school with a girl who got yelled at by the teacher for writing a "dirty" word on the chalkboard when the students were told to write their initials and the girl had to explain. She had two middle names, and her initials spelled F. A. R. T. Also, her first name was Fanny, so that's even worse, especially if you live in some parts of the world where fanny is a slang term for something besides your butt.

@@nautil_us Worse than iffy. Caesar was a political monster (sending gangs to beat up political oposition, until he became so powerful military that he could dare to "cross the Rubicon"). Augustus was more intelligent and used both military power (e.g. against his "allies" Leppidus and Mark Anthony) and "godfather"-like patronage relationships to control the Senate. Claudius was more of a tragic figure, however.

Another interesting thing to consider: initials and any inherited jewelry. For example, my name starts with an R, as does my grandmother's. As a result, I inherited a fair amount of R jewelry. By a weird twist of fate, my partner's mother's name also starts with an R, so more R-based jewelry. It has been decided that, should we ever have a child, said child will also need to have an R name, lest the jewelry go unworn. (for the record, I am aware of how silly this is)

My mum's name is Catriona and my dad's is Mark... when you said them one after the other I was like uhhhhhhhhHh (and yes, no one can pronounce Catriona so she goes by her middle name... and then named me Kate? Which is the same root name? Idk...)

@@waterdragon3367 I get that, but I also think it's fair to point that out. My immediate reaction to Tarquin was also "why would you name your kid THAT" :D I mean obviously if people really love that name they should still pick it, but if I were looking for a baby name I'd probably be grateful if people pointed out that it has certain meanings/connotations or that there are people of that name I might not be aware of.

Honestly my nephews name is Damian, spelled exactly like that, and he gets compared to that antichrist child called Damien surprisingly infrequently. What I'm trying to say her is that most people probably won't know that Tarquin was an evil king.

'vive is a pretty cool "kid inventor" figure in "Gail Carriger"s" "finishing school" series, growing up to be "Madame LeFoux" the Crosdressing, Lesbian inventor, raising her Exs child with her Aunts Gost, a Vampire hive and Bording school... getting much too little attention overall but the "romancing the inventor" novel is cute.

My brother almost convinced some friends to name their new son Richard Edward, they wanted traditional but sounding good together and loved the combination. It was only later he had to tell them to use the alternative and abbreviated versions together that they realised the joke. Also, always check that the initials work okay.
