@ogkush19163 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMyPleasureToDenyYou nahhh Keke Wyatt's head voice has nothing on whitneys.. its not as full, bright or operatic... Now Keke is a Beast and her head voice is excellent but she lacks the support and fullness of an opera singer that Whitneys had.
@ItsMyPleasureToDenyYou3 жыл бұрын
@@ogkush1916 - Incorrect, my dear. ---->>>> . . . KeKe Wyatt's voice lacks absolutely nothing, her voice couldn't be "fuller" OR "brighter", and the ability to be an "opera singer" or hit "operatic notes" is not the way you measure vocal agility. Yes; Whitney Houston could sing operatic. KeKe Wyatt sings (can hit notes) in whistle register. KeKe Wyatt also possesses the "grit" and the "growl" of a powerful belt/chest voice that Whitney Houston either didn't have, never used or simply wasn't famous for. (And I won't even mention KeKe Wyatt's incomparable "runs" and "riffs.") Again, I am fans of them BOTH. I do believe that Whitney Houston "set the standard" in many regards for the modern/contemporary female recording artist. But stop all of this "got nothing on" crap. God's Anointing varies from person-to-person, is EQUALLY powerful and was never meant to be "cookie cutter" or "identical." . . . This means we value and appreciate each individual for the gifts that He uniquely gave. ;-)
@ogkush19163 жыл бұрын
@@ItsMyPleasureToDenyYou I don't need a breakdown of Kekes voice I've actually seen her live and listen to her countless times on youtube. Yes she can hit whistle notes but still not like an opera singer. She deffo has all the capabilites but just lacks the extra discipline it would take to make her a world class vocalist.. its been stated by another vocal coach and agreed with by her brother who is also a great singer.. ppl like yourself need to understand it takes nothing away from her, infact it's a high praise and she can blow.. but Whitney voice had a fullness, richness, brightness n ring in her prime and actually executed operatic feats aswell as sang opera. Now I'm sure Keke can but I've heard whitney do it. NO one in the pop industry or arguably even in gospel has a headvoice like Whitney and Her mother Cissy had, it is operatic, full, bright, flexible, powerful, quiet.. they both easily could have gone into opera. Anyway both singers blow but no Keke's head voice isn't of whitneys it blossoms higher due to her voice type. I've seen her sing i will always love you. Range wise its not the highest head note think a G#5. Keke hits it, easily but, its not about hitting it, its How and what colour,tones n timbre comes out. N Whitneys was butter.. listen to her sing opera along side sting and Pavarotti on her, its brief but proves my point.

What did I tell you? Lol. She has a god given talent that could not be denied. This is why I wanted you to react to this version because you could see her greatness and growth from 1984. Rumor is that Jennifer Holliday herself asked Whitney to stop performing this (this was during the era of Dream Girls ) during her concerts. Every single time I hear this my whole body gets chills. This single performance solidified Whitney’s superiority. Once again, see how Whitney used her instrument far greater. Listen at how she sustains these notes with ease on pitch. Unfortunately it’s impossible to find a video of this performance. I’m sure someone has it but they are probably holding it for ransoms to the highest bidder lol. Yes!! Talking to your favs had me cracking up...I need some oxygen.

Yes!! This was so breathtaking and it really showed me who Whitney was and that she would reign forever!
@jobuck8794 жыл бұрын
John Moore Never heard that but it could possibly be true. The difference between their performances is that Jennifer is singing to hold on to her man that she knows has either fell in love with another woman or has been caught with another woman, Whitney is singing about her love for her man, she’s totally in love with her husband and telling him no matter what the world is saying about their relationship and marriage she’s not going to leave. It’s the emotional feelings and their interpretation of the performance that tells the story. I myself think they are both fantastic renditions because of the interpretations they show.

The Wembley version and the new york version are better than the cali version. In Wembley she lets off some growls and runs that made me throw my phone lol. I have yet to hear a female singer top her Wembley performance vocally. And im a huge fan of stone cold vocalist so that says alot
@TheMastersuperblaste4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Here's the link to a newly uploaded higher quality version of the Wembley London version. Whitney committed a criminal offense to every singer that ever lived with this performance (along with the San Francisco and NY renditions) and should've been fined/arrested/jailed for it. This 23 yr old, 110 pound young lady saw this song walking down the street and creeped up on it in a white van (with no windows) offered it candy, lured it into the van, drove it to a remote location, murdered it, dismembered it and buried it. No evidence= Cold case! She took a 4 min song (as it is sung in it's original form by J.Holiday) and turned it into a gospel/opera/Broadway vocal spectacle that can never be topped by anyone. I've heard many renditions of this song and none of them can match this. Mariah (as great as she was in her prime) would've short-circuited herself into a stroke if she attempted this kind of vocal savagery in front of a live audience. Idc how much bigger her range is. Her whistle register and flipping notes all over the place is child's play compared to the 300 foot tall beast on a warpath we hear in this performance. Only a male opera tenor like Pavorotti could belt with this kind of authority and superhuman power. This woman was not 100% human! m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpSqpKafhKaqY7c
