Actually it's easy enough to cut a channel in the wall, run a conduit, plaster and paint over it. Just takes time and patience to get it done right. Can be a bitch of a job but when you take your time and do it right, worth it.

@@vagatronics Gypsum Drywall is perfectly fine if you take care of it. Obviously it is softer than plaster but it does the same thing perfectly fine. Never in my home have I ever thought, "You know what, I hate drywall." Yes it won't technically be guaranteed to last like 100 or more years like an amazingly done plaster wall... if you take great care of it however it can. The cost and labor difference really shows. Also there is a total difference to housing in general when looking at North America vs Europe; In Electrical standards, building materials and standards, climate, and much more.

Concerning the fireplace I've got a very nice solution to that. I wrapped my HDMI cables, network cable and power cable in a sleeve made from cloth, then added little twigs to them that sprout into flowers. Makes it seem like a vine growing from your cabinet to your TV :)

System at 20:00 is definitely an O11 Dynamic XL. The GPU bracket is an anti sag device that comes with the case. I'm confused why he blocked off the side. Even if he wasn't going to mount fans behind the res it's still ventilation. If all his rad fans are blowing out, as they should, then he's made a negative pressure case and blocked most of the passive intake. If he's pulling in air from the bottom and exhaust from the top, that's just bad with a rad on the bottom.

To be honest: the computer theme that Kevin has seems to be the exact way he wanted it. Wasn’t meant to be perfect. He wanted it to look a bit “ghoulish/Halloween’esk” and that ties together the offset tubing bends and runs as well as the unkempt cables. I could be wrong, but considering he spent a good bit of time with the design and building of that pc, it seems like it would stand to reason those were intentional choices rather than him giving up.

The retro case sleepers are by far the coolest builds in my opinion. Gratuitous RGB lighting and tempered glass panels are played out in my opinion and I’ve only been into this stuff for like 8 months. I just built my very first PC at the beginning of the year and I’m 100% determined to move into a sleeper case as soon as it’s time to upgrade either my CPU or GPU. I’m handy enough to do some case modifications - I just wish I could find a way to fit my 34” curved ultrawide monitor into a retro housing but clearly that isn’t happening.

I used to do the same as an automation controls tech, but the ones who were really good at it were always the electricians. I upgraded from a 970 to a 1080 just around when the 20x was being released and just after the bitmining stuff stopped making gpu's five times the price they're supposed to be. Considering that I dont do anything heavier than say, Euro Truck Simulator or Cities Skylines (which is more about the RAM), this is not that much of an issue. ... and I have a three screen for triple-HD, one of which is a 120hz monitor too.

Tips for piping watercooling, one sharp 90 degree bend(like L) is equivalent to one meter straight pipe in flow resistance. So if you are after efficiency over looks then avoid unnecessary bends and make them as long(bends) as possible. I tend to find a balance in looks and efficiency :)

Seeing most of those setups definetly made me realize... to never upload my mediocre looking PC. Always start with the best ideas in mind and always end up rushing the last bit because I simply run out of time and I need this system every day for work related stuff so I end up cutting corners and losing patience. Unless you already have a good customisable case with plenty of room and air flow, than next time start with a new case, you won't need to dismantle the old one and you can spend more of your free time setting it up correctly, place the mobo, the CPU, the GPU and than the cooling, the lights, the aesthetics and everything that is new else first, than move whatever over from your old PC and install.

And here when I went looking for my new case for my latest build last December I required it to have space for one of those because some of the games I own and still play I only have on DVD. *Edit* System at 21:15 has no power cables at all. I've been building computers since around 1990 and only felt confident in the quality of commercially available water cooling hardware to give it a go for my most recent build and like that guy towards the end, I didn't mess around and went straight for a dual radiator (360mm + 280mm), Acrylic 14mm tubing, compression fittings, dual DDC-1T PWM 10w pumps (thank you Martin's Liquid Lab), GPU + CPU blocks from Aquacomputer, Watercool Dual DDC housing, Barrow Res, and an Aquaero 6LT with flow meter and multiple temp sensors. I found the most difficult part was my impatience where i wouldn't heat the acrylic long enough and over enough of the tube to get the bends right at first. And as i'm sure you know, Acrylic doesn't like to be re-heated. I did the whole loop without using any directional fittings. All bends were done with tubing, two of which have 4 bends in them. Pro Tip (from non-pro): Buy at least 2x the amount of acrylic tubing as you think you'll need if you've never done this before. You can thank me later.

you are talking about we have to upgrade our PSU, well Optimum Tech uploaded a video a few days ago where he stated that 600watts PSU was more than enough. Can you confirm this or dismantle this subject? I'm interested in getting more knowledge about this since we are alot of people having a mini itx build and most of ours PSUs are 600watts gold or plat.

600 watts will more than likely be enough but you will definitely be running outside of the efficiency curve on most mid tier PSU's and definitely do not run an overclock on both your cpu and GPU (assuming you have a same tier cpu) and have them both pinned at 100% utilization.

I reckon Jay or anyone that's having issues with seemingly overkill PSUs are daisy chaining their 8-pin cables. Most AIBs and sellers are instructing to use 2x 8-pin cables instead of a daisy chained one. With 3 pin cards using 1x 8 pin on the far left with a daisy chained for the other 2 being fine. Obviously there might be duds among 3080s but seeing as how daisy chaining wasn't an issue before, I have a hunch that many people are doing it unintentionally.

it depends on the rest of your rig as well. if you've got an 8 or more core cpu, 16gb or 32gb of ram, aio cooler or air cooler? all those things increase the total power consumption of the rig. if you've got air cooling on the cpu and not overclocking, only 16gb of ram, minimal rgb (if any), then you should be fine. but if you overclock the cpu, have 32gb of ram, lots of rgb, aio cooler, 3+ storage drives, then i'd say 750w is where you need to be at least.

you can also check out the website www.powersupplycalculator.net. input your system info and itll give you a good estimate of your total power consumption in your pc as of now. then do some math and find out if the new gfx cards will be too much for you

@@smbu I ended up buying an external drive for my older games I like to play every so often. ... that has a USB2.0 mini port, came with no cable, and didn't like the cables with the correct connector that I already had and generally was a nuisance (even prevented sooo many attempts to update windows for dark mode despite not even being plugged in , had to uninstall and then it went 'okiedokie lets get installing!) I ended up having to buy one of my old games on steam, the others haven't managed to play at all because the drive just wouldn't stay functional. ... I miss having a proper drive.
