Yeah I feel like she had serious jungle fever for the aggressive black male stereotype. hey i’m new and came to this for the boondocks but i love your videos! i wanted to say on the topic of non black people watching the boondocks, i’m white and for whatever reason as an 8 year old i discovered the boondocks so it was an extremely formative show for my childhood and now looking back on it i’m honestly rly thankful cuz as much as it has definitely aged it taught me a lot about black culture but also taught me not to otherize black people in any way; not being racist obviously but also not putting an entire race on a pedestal because everyone is just a person! i know that might seem like a non-issue to some people compared to racism and i agree it’s not AS harmful but i was raised in an extremely leftist community which is great but i’ve known so many people who just take it way to far with their white guilt shit lmao. anyway i just wanted to share my experience with the show as a non-black person who grew up on it. it will forever be one of my favourite shows i understand if people think that’s kinda weird but i can’t help it i just love it!

I'm white and I watch(ed) the Boondocks, planning on reading the comic sometime soon. I feel like you either go through it either misinterpreting or just plainly not understanding a lot of the material or you watch it critically and get a good impression of the gap in experiences between you and black people. I'm not sure just how much the white/non-black audience is split along those lines, intuitively I'd say most lean to the former, but it does act as a good culture shock. I think trying to watch it when I was younger and then coming back years later with better a understanding of things is quite humbling.

I'm white and picked up pretty quickly it's satire. I started watching the show because of its anime influence art style and then with the right framing you get the jokes. Not the same way as black people and I will not watch it around other white people, because I just don't know if they get it. Boondocks is a show that almost always leaves me thinking about the layers as the credits roll and that's a powerful piece of art.

Some of my favorite episodes were the fried chicken flu cause, honestly, it predicted the pandemic and how people reacted, and Riley waz here cause that episode was just funny to me for like no reason. Still, it was sweet how Riley found his artistic abilities and painted the picture of his parent's wedding photo. I loved how wholesome and funny it was! I hated every uncle ruckus episode, I couldn’t stand him cause he just spouted so much bs, and some of the things he would say would catch me off guard and get a chuckle out of me cause what he said would have been so outrageous or stupid, but that's as funny as he got.😑 Least favorite episodes beyond that were when Sarah was just terrible to tom in both tom, sarah, and usher and in pretty boy flizzy. Like… tom isn't my favorite character, but he's not the worst and deserves better than her😒. Also, the final episode… I just… I was so upset when I found out that THAT was the last episode. Not the best way to leave the show, in my opinion, and honestly, this is the first time I’ve heard that there's gonna be a reboot, so I'm excited, but I probably shouldn’t get my hopes up that it’ll be out soon

The reason Black women weren't really analyzed as much if not at all is because Aaron said, "Black women can't handle getting criticized". @@lowrider276 Any reason to call Black men names I suppose. If it works for you it works. Doing things to prevent your show from being canceled is just regular business. If it was the same towards Black women the should wouldn't have gotten more than a few episodes and there would be no show at all.

"Twitter as a sample size" lol you see, you don't. Unrelated, I'll say most people in general don't like being criticized.
