Can't help but get a little emotional when I hear this one. I suggest looking up the lyrics, they are so deep and touching. These women are just simply incredible.

Caught me off guard your quick :) the conversation at the start was Kanami telling the crowd how happy she was that Sai-chan asked her to do an acoustic just the two of them. Sai-chan had to step in and tell Kanami to start the song before people got the wrong impression...lol Kanami adores Sai-chan :) Kanami is a vocalist but when the band formed she wanted to focus on her lead guitar and composing so she was happy to have Sai-chan and Miku doing vocals....Mincho is amazing and acoustic puzzle preceded this song...

What a haunting, ethereal voice Kanami has. It's amazing that not only does B-M have an awesome vocalist with Saiki, but the other Maids all have beautiful voices too :)

One day Mincho will sing lead on a song she also composes. I'll bet it will be a slow to mid tempo but you never know.

@P in D² Ryan Mear did a fancam of Yuragu, with Kanami and Akane singing back up. As far as I know, unless a fancam from the Dallas show pops up, MISA only sang backing vocals live at that performance. The were 2 commenters on the Discord who said they had been at that show and had seen MISA singing, but so far no Video of it has appeared

Thanks for the bonus reaction. I love the burst of emotion from Kanami's guitar in the electric version, but the beautiful harmonies from her in this version is pretty special, too. Kanami has talked about how playing and singing at the same time is hard and admires Miku for doing it. Obviously, she does it beautifully here but I think she meant its too hard for her in the context of most high tempo band-maid songs where she's pretty much shredding in the background the entire way. In the acoustic sets, like this, Puzzle, Anemone and the 2021 Xmas day concert, she does a lot of backing vocals.
@GeographRick2 жыл бұрын
Kanami sings more than some people may realize. She does backing vocals on choruses of some of the songs. Sometimes if you watch the live performances the camera will catch her at the microphone. Also FYI, all five of them can sing.

I'm glad you decided to do the acoustic version as well today. I think right before that point in the concert, the two of them did an acoustic version of "Puzzle" it had the same lyrics as the original, but it took on a whole new meaning with Saiki and Kanami's vocals during the acoustic version. It is well worth listening to whether you record a reaction video to it or not. I hope you are having an awesome day, SBR!
@GaryHolloway-8102 жыл бұрын
Yeah i always equate the electric version with Saiki singing with anger & bitterness at the impossible situation the woman in the lyrics finds herself in. Whereas in the acoustic she's singing with sadness at a love that can never be.🥲
@markhayes90042 жыл бұрын
@@GaryHolloway-810 I completely agree with you. I think Saiki could have been an award -winning actress in movies or theatre in another life. Miku's lyrics were also genius level writing, and least in the interpretations I've read. Kanami is just an absolute genius at her music composition.

This song, no matter which version I listen to, including Ansan, absolutely hits me emotionally. Saiki's voice is just stunning, and this version especially gets me. She puts so much heart and emotion into her vocals. I believe Gary in a comment below said "haunting." I couldn't agree more.

Two completely different sides of the same coin. One that reflects the emotions mainly through the instruments and the other that does it solely vocally. Which side people like more is up to them. Depending on my mood, I sometimes like one and sometimes the other a bit more. ___________________ 「 _"完璧なんてありえない" / Perfection? No one gets there._ 」 --- from *BAND-MAID* 'Warning' 🕊

I like the studio version for Kanami's soulful guitar playing, but I ADORE the vocal performance of the live version. A lot more emotion being expressed if you ask me. And I love Kanami's girlish singing voice. Reminds me of 90's alt acts like Lisa Loeb or Julianna Hatfield.

I too prefer the album version just a bit more. The song is already soft enough that I think the strong guitar adds a powerful flavor to the song that is obviously missing from the live acoustic. It's good in its own right, but I think the album version is just that bit better.

I personally think this is one of the songs that you can't replicate the mood of the studio version on stage. The studio version hits me more because both Saiki and Miku are deliberately singing flat and softly. You can hear the sadness the protagonist is hiding while carrying on her daily routine. Kanami's solos capture what she's hiding in her heart. In the studio version the whole band is like, emotionally in sync. The acoustic version sounds just as powerful but more personal. It's a different song to me.
