Kanami is often overlooked because she is not pushy. You hear her going nuts in the bacground of songs, until she foregrounds that during solos...

Such an unassuming lady when you consider the skills and talent she has (until she switches to Mincho mode during live performances)

My hero. For me..Kanami is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and True Rock n’ Roll Star on stage. She is The Special One 🔥❤️🤘 Thank you for reacting this and Greets from Finland 🇫🇮

I think playing piano really helps with music composition. A big part is knowing how to spread out the parts across the frequency spectrum. Having everything laid out for you on the keyboard helps you put all the notes in, but separate them so they don't get buried. Larry Carlton is a session guitarist and played on a number of outstanding albums; Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" being one example. He plays in a wide range of styles; jazz, r&b, soul, blues, rock, country, you name it. He's very expressive, just like Kanami Tono.

You did see Kanami play the keys (albeit briefly) at the start of their song, "Start Over". As @surfingasongwave pointed out, Larry Calton is a very well regarded session guitarist. If you've seen the Magnum P.I. TV series from the '80s, then you've heard his work (Mike Post composed the theme with Larry Carlton on guitar). And thanks for this, am looking forward to seeing your reaction to Akane's documentary!

prs is a premium brand. it's a pricey guitar, but it commands quality. that's why it's sought after and used by many musicians -- carlos santana included. the company owner, paul reed smith, is very much in the company's r&d trenches, ensuring that they deliver high-quality products. [just shows mincho-zilla has an impeccable taste] the first four interviewees are reactors who created 'the gaijin guys' channel. they found their of appreciaton band-maid, and to an extent japanese music as a whole, as their common denominator.

I have to admit I was a PRS nay-sayer ... before. I had that image of a "too perfect" guitar aimed mainly at fortunate bedrooms players (yes, it's stupid, like every prejudice). SHE made me changed my mind, now I have a Custom 24 (like hers), a Santana and a Silver sky and of course those are amazing guitars. She knows her stuff.

You can call her Kanamizilla, but most of us just say she's in "mincho mode."

PRS are a very small bodied guitar and not too heavy, but looks normal size on Kanami. They are now one of the most popular guitars amongst rock musicians. I have a PRS Vintage Custom 24 Sunburst and can tell you that you can get the most fantastic tone range from their controls. There is a video of Kanami playing a complete Daydreaming on the piano- sorry, don't have the link but it's out there- looks like a private recording- out of the maid outfit. Great reaction.

As a musician and someone who's played in bands, when I see anyone use a PRS I go " oh damn that person knows how to play the sh*t out of a guitar ".

PRS stands for Paul Reid Smith, the creator of the guitar and brand. Kanami did a review of the various PRS lines for Young Guitar magazine on PRS's 35 Anniversary. A video of the review is on KZbin. I'm kind of pissed off at PRS for not naming a Kanami signature model, since she has been an excellent representative of the brand. I call Kanami "The Wonderful Little Genius".

As others have said PRS is a prestigious brand. I've always associated PRS with Carlos Santana who happens to be Kanami's guitar hero.
