Arguably, her soft vocals are her strength, even if juxtaposed in a rock sound. That’s what sets her apart from her peers.

track 13- the “man” who left too soon is her boyfriends deceased father. she hasn’t dealt with much family death in her life in her sentient years - so she wrote about how it would feel. she thought about the moon and how it links people, funnily enough - her boyfriends father painted moons for each of his immediate family members just before he died. it’s like one artist honouring another, and somehow it links together

just finished watching the video** real man and one time are currently my faves. I think as a fan for some time I can tell this album was emotional to make and just so diverse compared to her past albums.

funny that you mentioned pine grove on beaches because bea said that a lot of her inspiration for this album came from the pinegrove album “cardinal” as well as other alternative music like fiona apple and elliot smith:))

also the word you were looking for was anemoia, which is feeling nostalgic for something you never experienced

I think some of these tracks are better with context like the last two. One being about her boyfriends deceased father and the other being pretty much a message to her ex that music is her way of coping and not a way to call him out.

no obvious auto-tune, kills it live, my #1. She was born in Philippines but grew up in London.
