Next Gen stat of the game: Chargers rookie RT Joe Alt allowed zero QB pressures in 11 pass-rush matchups against the Raiders’ Maxx Crosby, all in 1-on-1 situations. Crosby had not been held to zero pressures in a matchup against an offensive lineman since Week 9, 2022 (minimum 10 matchups). On the day, Alt allowed three pressures across his 28 total pass-blocking snaps (10.7% pressure rate).

One thing to remember is this offense is COMPLETELY different from last year. We only have 2 skill position players on this team from last season (Palmer, QJ). Both of them are also now playing completely different roles as well. Herbert hasn't played at all in the preseason and missed a good portion of training camp. Dobbins in particular hasn't played a meaningful NFL game while healthy in 2 seasons. That one break-away was his first in a long time. I just got done watching his interview with reporters and he noted that he still needs to get back in top shape, which means this is only a small percentage of what he's capable of. Knock on wood, but if he stays healthy, he's going to be a monster and fantasy football league winner. The sky's the limit if the offense starts to click. This is the defense that we've been waiting such a long time for. I'll be so pumped if the Chargers build a reputation for being a scary, intimidating team.

I liked how QJ looked and I really wish we had run the ball a little better. We had a hard time finishing drives. Even after huge plays like JK Dobbins' run down to about the 5 yard line I was telling my friend we really could've used those extra 5 yards and we ended up settling for a field goal. We gotta find ways to be a little more consistent because the Raiders aren't the top challenge for this team moving forward.

I’m a Michigan and a chargers fan. I’ve been telling my friends all offseason that the chargers are a double digit win team and they will have a top 10 defense in points allowed and turnovers, and they are a steal for a fantasy football team because you don’t have to draft a defense because everyone was sleeping on them. Minter is a genius at installing and running this ravens system even back to 2021 at Vanderbilt. You give him talented players like Derwin, bosa, Mack, and Samuel, he’ll get everyone else on that defense to do their job and do it well. That will allow those talented players to become difference makers.

Our run game is LEGIT. I kinda predict it will go back and forth each week with Gus and JK, but the formula to our success is THERE. In time I think it’ll gel together better - but also, Raiders have a LEGIT defense. Gotta give em credit for that - but again, THIS is why we got Harbaugh and G Ro. Offensive minded geniuses that know how to overcome a tenacious defense like Vegas has. Also, on the other side of the ball, our defense.. man.. our defense WILL be a top 5 defense this season. We limited Devante to 59 yards, where in recent years he’s TORCHED us. And the fact that we can rotate between Mack and Bosa with Bud and Tuli is UNBELIEVABLE. My goodness our defense was on POINT today. Great win for us ⚡️

yeah, it was just one game, but man the defense looked GOOD. And, give the raiders D props, but the offense looked bad. if not for OUR Defense, raiders would have won.

As a Ohio State and Chargers Fan. I couldnt be more pleased with the Harbaugh hire. Michigan is falling apart and my Chargers have found an identity on defense.

Chargers did not double down on Khali and Joey. They actually asked them to take pay cuts. Justin may need to take a pay cut so the Chargers can pay a center that will help them win the Superbowl.

This offense was horrific and basic in the first half. It was still terrible in the second half but suddenly the running game worked. Not sure if they can keep up this Marty Ball style of play against more talented offenses.

I'm happy with the win, but Greg Roman straight up got out coached by the Raiders. I watched Kellen Moore's offense in Philly and ours paled by comparison. Take look at week 1 last year with Moore in LA. Our offense was stagnant.... Thank God for Dicker and the defense...

Greg Romans offense worked well .Jesse Minter defense amazing .Herbert looked bad until the end of the 3rd quarter .Herbert still looks shell shocked .Doesnt trust the pocket pulls the ball down and runs, held the ball too long .
