Reaction - Dan Vasc - An American Trilogy - A USA Memorial Day Dedication

This is a reaction video of Dan Vasc singing "An American Trilogy". The song was written by Mickey Newbury in 1972 and made famous by Elvis Presley. Dan recorded the song in honor of his deceased father who loved Elvis and his version of the song. What I appreciate about Dan's cover is he keeps it very respectful. The instrumentation is not over the top and keeps close to each of the 3 songs melodies that make up "Trilogy". Dan's vocals are perfect for this song which makes the song very moving. I literally teared up at points of the song due to Dan's lyric representation. Get out a box of tissues and ... Enjoy ...

I've seen this cover a thousand times and I always cry like it's the first time Dan suffers and closes his eyes because he's mourning his father who had passed away days before, it was a tribute to him for loving Elvis and this song, tks

As others have mentioned, this is hard to watch, seeing Dan in such emotional pain. It wasn't easy for him to "keep it together". Respect Dan! And respect for your country's history, I'm South African. Thankyou for your informative reaction and looking forward to more Dan reactions😃

71 year old Grandma of 2 here❤️⚘️ Dan Vasc has around 250 covers such as "Nessum Dorma", "The music of the night" many genres . A young Dan singing "Dream On" He also dedicated the "Elvis Trilogy " To his Father who passed 6-7 years ago of cancer. He shares a picture of his Father and him at the end. The harmonica he plays in "Amazing Grace" his father gifed him when he was 7. Dan is a very humble man. He has in his covers documented his growth starting around 2009. He dedicates and shares his suicide prevention in his channel he sings" Don't Give Up, You Are Loved", shares a heart felt comment on a cover Chester did. Usually he will share some comments right after he does a cover . His Metal Version of "America's National Anthem ". Is incredible !!! However you must !! watch his "Apology video" "Right" after !! He's Brazilian and I'll say "Dig In " "Mulan" , "Burn Butcher Burn"😂 "Phantom of the Opera" " My Heart Will Go On" ,"Oh Holy Night " , Groups"Toto", "Iron Maiden " "Sound of Silence" "A Million Dreams " "Journey" "Handel's Hallelujah " , " "Angel's we Have Heard on High"! Dan's Brazilian Portuguese dedication at the beginning of video is translated: "For my beloved father Roberto" At the end of this tribute video, Dan added a photo of himself as a child with his father and wrote:: "Sleep with God, Dad. See you soon." His father loved Elvis' voice and Dan often sang Elvis songs when requested in earlier years.

Todd, I was able to see Elvis Presley within his last year of his life. Through my life I have been to multiple concerts but none touched me like Elvis'. Even though he was not well physically or emotionally , the concert was amazing. Thank you for your comments and for sharing Dan's connection to the song. Dan's father Roberto died 6 years ago. This was his favorite song of Elvis, he was a big fan of Elvis. 5 days after losing his father, Dan recorded this as a tribute to his dad.

Dan's father died 5 days ago. He sang the song in memory of him. So beautiful! Usually Dans songs give me energy, but this one made me cry with him !

Dans dad had died just 5 days before he sang this song. He sang it as a tribute to his dad who was an Elvis fan and loved the song. Dan looks up to Heaven while singing it to his dad. It almost choked him up toward the end after singing your daddys bound to die. Makes me tear up every time I watch this. And I absolutely love how he sings this so beautifully. He himself already wrote it under his song... It was the favourite song of his father who was an Elvis fan.. 5 days before he song this his father died.. Can hardly stand to watch this one... the pain in Dan's eyes is heart-wrenching... his father had died shortly before he made this video in honor of his dad ... you can see the tears... It’s always a good idea to check Dan’s page to see if he has something to share - important, informative, or even funny. In this case his father’s recent death shaped this incredibly moving performance. And BTW, not everything on Dan’s channel is metal; if he “metalizes” an ordinary song, he always states that. This is a beautiful rendition of this song. Dan is a big fan of the USA. He sang the Star Spangled Banner. He did so much a great job that he should sing it during the Super Bowl. More intense than Elvis' version, which was one of the top requests when I hosted a Saturday night request show on 104.3 KOOL Oldies in Boise, ID, in the late 90's/early 2000's.
