This is an iconic performance! Elvis is so fabulous-in tune with every instrument, voice and feeling in the song. I have loved Elvis my whole life. His voice is one of a kind, a gift from God. Elvis has been used, misunderstood and abused since his career began. People have used him to push their own agendas, when all Elvis wanted to do was use his gift to support his family, make people happy, and have them experience the presence of God through his music. Unfortunately, people using him continues today-but true Elvis fans know his talent and his love. He was not a god, he was a man, but he developed his talent to a very high level of skillfulness and it was coupled with his passionate personality, humor, charm, humility and love for his fans which caused him to be loved and admired around the world.

That was a Flute. Elvis loved to share the spot light with his band & back up singers. He had a voice straight from Heaven. Watching documentaries about him will help to understand him better. He sang from his heart. At Sun Studio in Memphis, he paid $4 to record a record, a birthday gift for his mother. Side "A" is called "My Happiness." "You could hear Elvis at the age of 18; he doesn't want to mess up," said Marchese. "This is his one take to do this and he wanted it to be perfect." Someone at the studio copied it & played it on the radio & the rest is history.

Well he is under the hot lights used back in the ‘old days’ made you sweat! Elvis was respecting his upbringing, dirt poor in Tupelo ( south) and his success ( north & south) and his love of country, the lullaby to honour the black people who were slaves & his love of Tupelo & Memphis communities who helped care for a young boy & his Mom & Dad. Elvis as a young boy, loved to go into churches to hear the gospel singing, as well as be on the streets listening to blues music and songs. Elvis always gave back to those communities, he never forgot where he got his voice & spirit. Elvis gospel songs received more awards than of his other music 🥰 He was a true humanitarian as well.

This concert was shown around the world via satellite. 1.5 billion people, a quarter of the earth's population at the time sat in front of their TVs to watch him sing. There wasn't any watching it later or recording it at that time. You stopped what you were doing to get home to make sure you caught it. I was around then. That's what people were talking about. Getting home to watch Elvis. He was a household name.

Actually, it was broadcast to several countries but not the U.S. that night. It was delayed in the U.S. because of the Super Bowl. One can find the entire broadcast concert on KZbin-“Elvis-Aloha”. There were five songs in the U.S. concert that were added to the original. KZbin has the recording of the practice of those songs

This performance is iconic. Elvis , a proud patriot, singing across the planet , conscious that he is representing his country, dressed in his beautiful Eagle Suit that he commissioned to emphasise America, shining with his heart and soul. But this time I was enjoying watching your face!! So expressive and your body language spoke volumes. We could see you getting chills and see the awe in your eyes. Lovely reaction yet again, you can now understand why people adored Elvis. Not only gifted in everything musical but also a generous, kind and charismatic humanitarian who wanted to make people happy. He really thought he hadn’t achieved anything memorable with his life and would be forgotten! Well here we are now, nearly 5 decades after his death, with people like you,CV, keeping him relevant and introducing new generations to Elvis. Thank you so much. 🙏👌💕🕺

CV, this platform NEEDS good people like you. Without you and other people presenting the solid soul of such a good man, the disgusting rumours and lies will remain unchallenged. Whether someone likes Elvis or not is unimportant, but for every person who bothers to delve deeper into who he was and what he stood for, it diminishes that hatred. Sometimes, one rain drop at a time is enough to erode a mountain.

This whole Aloha concert is phenomenal. This particular song is three in one (so trilogy) - two American anthems, one representing the south (Dixie) and one the north (Battle Hymn of the Republic), plus a lullaby related to African/American spirituals (All my trials). So once again Elvis is including everyone, and his jumpsuit is covered in American eagles because this show was beamed across the world via satellite and reached over a billion people in 1973. I must have seen this performance hundreds of times now but it never fails to tug at the heartstrings. Elvis forever ❤

INFO on THAT RAMP from the STAGE: Producer/director Marty Pasetta told Parker (Elvis' manager) that he wanted to build a ramp for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no. Even though Pasetta explained that it would be 8 ft. wide & Elvis could stay in the middle or go to the left or to the right if he wanted to because Pasetta knew how important the audience was to Elvis, Parker stll said no. Fortunately, Pasetta was able to meet w-Elvis & he explained exactly what he told Parker. Fortunately again, Elvis overrode Parker & told Pasetta to build the ramp. Paseta told Elvis he wanted him to lose 25 lbs., which Elvis did. Elvis then hugged Pasetta & said you are one of the few people who has been totally honest w-me. Without that ramp the concert would have been very different if Elvis did not have the option to get in close touch w-the audience. If you watch him do "Welcome To My World" you will see his interaction w-the audience -- just wonderful. The instrument was a flute. Trilogy is a medley of three uniquely American pieces: “Dixie,” (dixie are the states down south in the U.S.); “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” a marching hymn of the Union Army during the American Civil War; and “All My Trials,” a Bahamian (people of the Bahamas) lullaby related to African American spirituals sung by protesting folksingers of the 1950s.

Another great reaction, brother. I couldn't agree more. All those things you mentioned makes Elvis' shows absolute must-see spectacles. I wish I was around. I was 9 when he died. I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. It was like the world stopped for a few days. It took me a long time to understand what an impact this man had on the world - and now thanks to tech, we're sitting here watching his greatness together. I believe that's one of the biggest problems we have nowadays - There is no Elvis, no MJ, Beatles, Zep, on and on and on. No talented people making music that all people can relate to, and feel a connection to - just like right now! ✌❤

I grew up in the 60’s watching Elvis movies, and distantly aware of his 50’s explosion. I had watched the 1968 special, and the “Elvis on Tour” movie. I loved 68, the tour movie actually confused me. When I laid on my sister’s living room floor, and watched this special, it all came together! The next year we went to see him in concert. Elvis’s career was a process in multiple phases. This performance was probably his crescendo!❤️ I could go on and on. Look back at his early days, move forward, and see how he evolved. Thank you for sharing!

I don’t think he ever breathes!! Effortlessly Amazing!! I believe God chose Elvis as a vessel for us to hear the voice of God. I like, even love other artists; but, Elvis’ voice is the only voice that transcends me. Emotionally, heals me in so many ways. Friendly Reminder, Christmas at Graceland is tonight.

Elvis was the sweetest man God ever created we were friends for 10 years up until his death i will love and miss him forever. I use to post some memories of our friendship and people started posting nasty hateful things so i will never post anything again. If you have to be nasty just scroll because i don't care about your nastiness and rudeness. Love to you from the one and the only Memphis Tn. Awesome reaction i so enjoy your reactions.
