I am so glad you did this video. About a year ago, I was surfing youtube,saw the description about not knowing Dad was present. Had no idea who Dimash was. I'm slicing mushrooms when I started the video. At 1st,my thought was:catchy,kinda folk style. Then Dimash did the 1st rail,I froze. I listened/watched the video MULTIPLE times in a row. Completely floored,I called my son to come in here. I had to have him see the video. I immediately looked for more Dimash english subtitles. I haven't stopped. I still tear up at the end of this video regardless of how many times I've seen it.

I'm so glad that you picked this particular version, he was so homesick, not liking the food and unable to communicate properly with anyone. Although the other contestants took him under their wing and by the time the show was over had developed close relationships with a number of them, nothing meant more to him than the unexpected appearance of his father.

Your heartfelt reaction was very endearing. I cried too when he saw his dad. I heard that he was extremely lonely being in China and not being able to converse or understand anyone without everything being interpreted for him. He went there with just a friend and he was used to always having his family around, so he really missed them. They knew that and that's why his dad went to be with him. You could see how overjoyed he was to see his dad. Such a sweet moment.

I am almost 85 and have never in all of my long life, been so amazed and so moved by a singer so talented. Dimash has the power to conquer any song genre that he wishes to perform in, that is the literal truth and he is in all ways a oerfectionist but here is the strangest thing. Dimash has a wonderful sense of humor, and he really had fun with this song engaging the audience and the other contestants. This was in 2017, so he was much younger then. His boyish cheekiness here is so adorable. He didn't know that his dad flew into China to support him and was in the audience as he performed this song. If you watch the video to the end, you can see the heartfelt reunion between father and son. Dimash and his family are really very close, and their love and respect for each other is so wonderful to see. Opera 2 was a song by the famous Russian singer Vitas who sued The Singer show after Dimash's performance claiming they did not get the proper copyright permissions for the use of the song before it aired. Vitas said that he would never again give permission for Dimash to sing any of his songs in any venue for any reason, essentially banning Dimash from ever singing it again. So this video is the only chance we have to hear Opera 2 by Dimash.

There us a very funny version of opera two somewhere on KZbin. Dimash was on a tv show and the two presenters had written funny new words for the song and asked Dimash to sing them there and then. Dimash is doubled over with laughter but still managed to do it.

On the Singer Show, the next song is The Show Must Go On. Then Autumn Strong, Uptown Funk, Adagio, Daididau, Daybreak, All By Myself, Confessa and Diva Dance, Tribute to MJ and bonus episode Give Me Love (Mahabbat Ber Magan) and that's it for 2017. In 2018 he was guest performer on the bonus episode of Singer and he sang Lionel Richie's Hello.

Thanks for this. I was thinking "i love this performance, and thankfully it doesn't make me cry " ... and then that moment when he spots his father! Interesting note, Dimash is actually 6'3"! I think for some reason, many of us perceive him as being quite slight and of modest height. There are of course many more performances from the show, the Singer, but the next performance that i remember really being amazed again i think was "olimpico".... and then more recently "Stranger" was another fantastic performance. Keep them coming :)

A very worthwhile reaction. Like you I adore this performance. I think the next one was The Show Must Go On. For later, there is a more recent fun and brilliant duet called The Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance. Dimash's singing partner is Li Yugang, a very successful counter tenor from the Chinese Opera. They are so good together and they are having fun. Dimash's range is outstanding in this mashup too.

The Dimash music arrangement and vocal abilities were sooooo much better than Vitas' version, the composer of the song sued Dimash so that he would never sing it again. His fathers visit was wonderful... Dimash hadn't been away from his home for so long a time before. When he did SOS, he had jet lag and a slight cold.

The song is about a guy who built a house and now lives all alone and sad in it ...listening to the howling of the wind outside ... This song belongs to the Ukrainian- Russian vocal clown Vitas. However, they forgot to ask Vitas. The people who hold the rights sued Chinese TV... unfortunately too late. The Chinese had already put it online and so it is on the Internet forever. Vitas (Vitaly Vladasovich Grachev, *1979 Latvian SSR is a Ukrainian- Russian pop singer who mainly sings in Russian. He is also a composer, actor and fashion designer.
