I really love the Doctor’s relationship with Ambrose. The way he meets her mistakes with anger, but never disdain. He recognizes that there’s hope for her, even when she royally screwed up.

And ultimately, he understands why she did it. The Silurians had kidnapped her husband, son and gave her dad a death sentence. Along with Alaya goading her on. The Doctor hates her actions, but he can't say he blames her for doing it.

Yep, the significant other of the Doctor's companion has gotten GOT, dead. Hasn't happened in a while has it, so from here on out, when it does happen, it shall be referred to as "getting Rory'd". Next companion has a boyfriend, girlfriend, hubby, or wife. The possibility could arise that they could get "Rory'd" too. Like, "Hey, remember so and so's significant other traveling with them and the Doctor? Well, they're gone now because they got Rory'd. "

I've never been on board with the disapproval toward the lady for killing the Silurian (sorry, bad with character names). She's a mother and they threatened her child. What would anyone expect? Not too long ago, the Tenth Doctor said to the Cybermen, "You've got their children, of COURSE they're fighting back!" It seems the Doctor forgot that point when he became Eleven.

I didn’t respond to my Back to the Future question in the previous episode because I wanted to make the comment here, where it’s more appropriate. I also fully acknowledge that I may be reading more into this than actually exists. :) Something I noticed on this re-watch: if you look at Rory in these episodes, he’s running around in an insulated vest and a plaid shirt, which is very similar to what Marty McFly is wearing in Back to the Future. In BTTF, Marty tweaks the past and then starts to fade from existence; in this, something is happening with time which ultimately causes Rory to fade from existence. Might be a coincidence, but as I don’t recall Rory wearing that vest is previous episodes, I’m inclined to think not.

Ah 2020 who knew 😂. Regarding Ambrose the mother even though I didn't agree with her killing Alayah or causing a war between the silurian race and the humans her as a wife and mother I can understand where she's coming from i wouldn't say that she's not feeling guilty or remorseful but I don't think she thought things through i think she was just desperate in the moment to get her family back and didn't think about the consequences of her actions only it made the situation worse, but yeah she should had been patient. R.I.P. Rory 😢.

Not even Moffat coming in to write the ending so it would advance the seasonal plot is enough to make this episode good or memorable. How did they ever hand over the show to Chris Chibnall is insane. There must have been literally no other candidates.

Fair episode with the Silerians, but yeah a death after 4 episodes, then returns later. They really love to tease us, and how they make them return is always the most wait, what moments for sure. The crack and the seasonal story revealing more hmm. I think they hint things well and then the Pandorica is a great episode. The Silerians later too are pretty fair of their appearances. But yes impulsive decisions always one character that will do it and let their emotions or protection want get the better of them despite other options.

I'm sorry. I'm always having a hard time with this episode. Because I'm always annoyed out of my mind by the overuse of "I Am The Doctor". It even annoyed me again watching this reaction, which is of course a lot less than the actual whole episode. It's distracting....

By now you are through it. Watching this in real time, unable to binge immediately, was PAINFUL. Because it was one of those kinda meh episodes that had a killer twist reveal at the end tied to the larger plot that redeems the episode. And I say it was a meh episode because humans are the bad guys and we get a lecture about it. It is the typical telling instead of showing that cripples writing like this. It could have been good.
