As a huge Ghost fan, I understand not everyone is going to like everything they put out, and that's okay. I hear a lot of people saying his vocals are the biggest thing throwing them off, and I'll say this - if you liked the vocals in Spillways, you'll probably like other tracks from the same album (Impera) more than the older stuff. I would recommend Kaisarion, Call Me Little Sunshine, and Respite on the Spitalfields. That said, if you haven't seen the video for Mary on a Cross live in Tampa, it gives a good taste for how well they perform live (and Ghost really is a live band, for sure).

Like I always say, music is subjective and does something different for all of us, these are only my opinion and hold no sort of merit of any kind. His voice has honestly been warming up to me so I can see me enjoying it more as time goes on. Thank you for the recommendations :)

I have a feeling the same will happen, at least for some of their stuff anyways :) I'm always more critical of stuff on my first listen too, so sometimes after a few listens I'll warm up to something.

I really like that you're not like "bah, these vocals suck!" but instead you're saying it's not your thing, it's a matter of taste and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that

Absolutely, Just because something might not be my thing doesn't mean the song is bad, or poorly performed, or has no merit. I hate that "I don't like this, so it's garbage!" mentality. Cheers! :)

That's an interesting comparison to Ozzy and that ligher voice in contrast to the heavy guitar. Never thought of it that way. Ghost isn't for everybody. Interesting reaction.

I like it on Spillways, but not as much on this track, it's not bad, and something tells me I'll probably warm up to it over time, but to each their own :)
