When they recorded this both James and all the staff was crying. Only his dad could ceep it together. After they wanted to autotune his voice so we couldnt here the crying in his voice but James wanted this amazing video. When they recorded this his father was dying. But after the video they found a kidneydonor and his father is alive today

Wow that's hectic and really amazing they found a donor. I've heard your beautiful when I was a kid so it was ready nice to rediscover James Blunt

James and his Dad Charles are both former British Army officers who both saw active service. (James a Captain, Charles a Colonel) Charles was dying from stage 4 kidney failure at the time of this filming. Thankfully a kidney donor was eventually found for Charles. James sang this as a tribute to his Dad. For a soldier to show such raw emotion and vulnerability is very brave. This song was recorded in one take. All proceeds from this song were donated to veterans charities. So much respect for James. He does a lot for veterans charities.

I've been binge watching this songs reaction videos (prob watched 50 of them) and I have yet to come across a person who does NOT cry. Everyone does. Everytime. ♥️ And more than half of those has commented "I wasn't expecting that" ❤

The last verse is James telling his father he'll be with him till his last breath, so he isn't alone, chasing the monsters away. At the time there really wasn't any hope. James was a captain and his father a Colonel in the British army, no showing of emotion or fear, as we say in England having a stiff upper lip, so really this was completely out of character. All turned out well, but not many get through this without crying...

You should do James singing No Bravery

James's dad had stage 4 kidney disease and would die with out a transplant (he only had 1 kidney because he had been a live donor in the past) James and his sisters weren't compatible. This song was recorded in one take and after the video everyone in the studio was crying and James' dad said ' what's all this fuss I'm not gone yet'. After the video was released a distant cousin saw it, came forward and was a match. The transplant worked and his dad is still alive. All proceeds from the song were donated to Help For Hero's a UK veterans charity as both James and his dad had been in the army.

Both Blunt and his father served in the military and when James's was sent to Kosovo it has been reported that when his father said goodbye, his dad said "you are not my son and I am not your father, we are just two men saying goodbye ".

James blunt is a powerful songwriter and delivers with a unique voice and he has a lot of valid things to say- you should check out no bravery and then carry you home in that order if you want full impact. How brave of his father to do this video as well.

Please do Carry You Home by James..he has so many amazing songs in a 20 year career. Monsters must have taken such courage to. film--one take, no auto tune. Many of his songs are shared experiences rather than performances. The emotion that Monsters evokes seems to be universal. I've watched several reaction and the song always wins.
