Bottom line, the song is told through the eyes (and voice) of an abused child.

Not as clear as it could be? Perhaps not. It's understated. But almost all the reactors I've seen deal with "Luka" understand it's about family violence of some sort. "Luka" is not a common name in the United States. "Lukas" is not a strange name for a boy, but people aren't so familiar with the name "Luka." So it doesn't surprise me too much that a few reactors took it to be about wife abuse instead of child abuse. Only one took it as a sort of positive song because "you don't ask why," and "you just don't argue anymore""; you just leave. Well, Luka isn't a grown woman, who can just walk out; he's a little boy who doesn't have a way out, telling a neighbor he's never talked to, as clearly as he feels he can, what's going on. I think everyone I knew years ago when it was so popular understood what the song was about. I appreciate your sensitivity.
