Eric I can hear you talk about music for hours my friend! 🍻 How about: "Storytime (live at Wacken) I actually went down to your list and you haven't done that amazing song. If some day you decide to check out Imaginarium (the movie) with your kids please tell us your opinion. Am really curious of what you think. Greetings from Nightwish army Greece department 🇬🇷

I can argue in favor of your comments, that "Nightwish attitude is different", the fact that many of their fans (including me) were not metalheads. Until Nightwish, I listened to my whole life to pop, Celtic and rock at most. For us, the "opening" of their music has facilitated our access to another genre of music, which many of us have avoided for much of our lives. For example, I would not have seen myself listening to Wintersun 10 years ago, and now I enjoy listening to the harmonies of metal.

I was brought up with classical and opera music in our house, my mother was a patron of Scottish Opera, her brother was a flautist in his spare time, he played in a couple of orchestras and in a blues/folk band, he could do a fantastic Ian Anderson :) she sang in a choir but I'm afraid my voice... well people have paid good money to sing in the next town... I love classical music and the majority of music on my ipod is classical/opera and the rest is filled with heavy rock/progressive/metal, oh and some bluegrass (Iron Horse - well worth a listen to their covers of metal music ) I have never been a follower of "pop" music, my first single was Paranoid by Black Sabbath, second was Deep Purple's Black Night, 3rd was Fire by Floor. I found Nightwish kind of late and Anette was the singer, I got Dark Passion Play for Islander mainly, and then Tarja's My Winter Storm and I forgot about Nightwish for a long time, then last year I came across Ghost Love Score live at Wacken, boy did that hit me hard, now patiently playing through their back catalogue and marvelling about how good this music is, and kicking myself that I have not gone to see them live, and could cry that I may not hear Marko sing with Nightwish. We come for Floor and stay for Marko.

Exactly Gabriel, i used to listen house/trance music, electric pop, Darude style like music. Then NW started to gain fame over the Finnish area. Tarja was a singer then, Nemo was the song that shot them to the fame.

Ok....with all due respect, Mr. Clark, I just need to stop and say this....I remember when you first said at the beginning of your NW journey, "I'm sorry I didn't fight hard enough for you" during GLS. Well, from my point of view, you've become the best NW reactor that I've seen so far on youtube, and you're doing them GREAT justice! So, again, as an avid member of the NW Army and the "I CONCUR" family, I say Thank You and God Bless!

My husband had a similar conclusion about NW. He watched a few live DVD's with me, and while he appreciated the talent it wasn't a choice he'd make on his own to watch. He then took the time to watch both virtual concerts and said he can now appreciate them for who they are, and stopped trying to compare them to anyone else. They are their own thing. For context I will say, his eyes almost popped out of his head when he heard Floor's ending to GLS just like everyone else.

Here you can see Floor's dress is broken right under her shoulder. It's fun to watch Tuomas holding his hands on his head because of Floor engaging the crowd so massively. It was something the guys learned about Floor very quickly - her engagement with the crowd - and how the crowd responded to her lead - a new feature from the lead singer. Troy calls Floor for a powerhouse, because of her stage presence - she has something special going on with the crowd.

She almost didn't make back on stage in time after her wardrobe malfunction, they had a hard time getting her top zipped all the way up, she barely made on stage for the start of Bless the child, but the crowd was unaware of anything, she wasn't fazed at all, if you didn't see it, you wouldn't know anything happened at all.

I would rather say she is not trying to front but since she was always the front woman of her former bands she is doing it subconsciously anyway. If you show anyone, who never heard Nightwish, the Wacken show, no one would ever guess that she was only a temporary replacement. You have to cut out Marcos comment just before "She's my sin" of course.

"I haven't heard a bad song from them yet, I haven't seen a bad performance; this is a band that will never let you down." Spot. On. From Angels Fall First through Human :||: Nature, there are only a very small handful of songs I don't care to listen to on their own, but there isn't a single one I'll actively skip on any album play-through, and any track they've considered worthy of putting in a live performance is pretty much guaranteed to kick some ass. I don't think you've actually done anything with either Anette or Tarja, and although I absolutely adore Floor and generally prefer her live iterations on older songs, there are still good things to explore from both of the previous vocalists. In particular, I'd love to see you do Scaretale from Anette (I don't think there are any high quality live versions, so I'd suggest the music video) and Phantom of the Opera from Tarja, during the End of an Era concert (after which she was so publicly dismissed from the band). Beyond that, I concur with all of the Floor recommendations from others.

You'll see a lot of suggestions for Wacken 2013 and rightly so, It's about the most complete and perfect show I've ever seen, and one of my prized possessions is a copy of the DVD Showtime Storytime signed by the entire band, Floor and the Band hold very fond memories of that night, it was the perfect combination of right band, right crowd on the right night, not one wrong note, not once was anyone off key and Floor as we would eventually come to expect from her would hold perfect pitch on every song, she called it a magical night where everything just came together perfectly.

This is the song he wrote in 2 hours, it was done, if I remember right the lyrics too. There is also a band called Crewish, Nightwish crew members that made an album with this song. The crew members had nothing to do when covid came in, so they decided to do a cd with Nightwish songs. It's their very own take on Nightwish songs. In May their second album will come, named Twice. Of all the songs Anette recorded, this is my favorite with her voice, I think it's one of her best. Here at Wacken ,this was song #12 of 15, between Romanticide and Ghost Love Score. Not adversarial but dominating is a different wat of putting it, and you're not wrong. They all play as a unit, not individuals like other bands. And play what the song requires, they aren't out there to show off. You haven't see a bad song from them because there aren't any. They are all great.

I guess others might disagree, but considering how much background info you already like to take into account, maybe reading the two letters "around" them parting ways with Tarja would be a good idea in this case. Unfortunately it hit UK no. 1 on the 'Rock' chart, on the regular chart - 120. It sucks but Nightwish is relatively unknown in the UK. You'll meet people who have heard of them but generally you'll get a blank look if you mention the name. Looking up some stats with regards to Nightwish and UK chart performance, over their entire career they have spent 1 week in the top 75 singles chart, 9 weeks in the top 75 album chart. As a Brit I just hang my head in shame that such an incredible band is pretty much unknown to the general populous. They should be a household name. Trying to look from an objective standpoint (which I admit, as a fan is hard to do) and looking at a variety of metrics; composition, song-writing, musicianship, diversity of style, vocals, live performances and it becomes hard to think of any other artist who can come close. Queen are a great comparison. They have huge diversity within their music, always willing to try something new, have a ridiculously talented vocalist and are quite capable of dialling everything up to 11 on a live performance. There is a reason Floor often get's called the female Freddie Mercury. But Queen are a household name, globally. Yet Nightwish, who tick _so many_ of the same boxes have nowhere near the same popularity. It boggles my mind. I think it is because too few people realise that 'Metal' is a HUGE umbrella of a genre. People will switch off at just the mention of 'metal' which is daft. It's like saying 'I don't like dance music' another ridiculously all encompassing statement that covers everything from hip-hop to hard house, from disco to dubstep, from a Tango to trance. Metal is such a huge genre and Nightwish have covered a fair portion of it and pushing it out into other genres too. So many performances by Nightwish and by Floor that you could play to anyone and they would say 'wow, that's good, how have I not heard of them before? Meanwhile kids are singing Wet Ass Pussy. I'm gonna go cry now...

Couldn't agree with you more. Very well said. My heart sinks, and I think of how "dumbed down" and backwards the music industry has folks, especially young & impressionable minds. Things like WAP and the likes of Lil Nas X...just sad. They celebrate women, and equality. Yet SO much of the mainstream music seems to only denegrate & disrespect people (not just women) & things. I wish I could like your comment 100 times. I'm in the States, and Nightwish is relatively unknown here too. It's NUTS. Metal is "poo-pooed" here by many too. In the Deep South (Alabama) where I live, it largely comes from the huge segment of the population of the religios/"devout". "That's the devil's music". Lol! I only found Nightwish about 6 or 7 months ago. I'm 42 and quite pissed that, bc of the general behavior & manipulations of our mainstream music industry, I've lived most of my life wo their music. I could've been listening to them since I was 17, but nooooooo. It's maddening that such talent and perfection within their craft is so ignored here all bc of a handful dictating what people should/can "consume". Maddening indeed. Again, very well said. Hope you have a wonderful evening! Not sure where in the UK you are, but I know it's closing in on 8pm London time. G-d Bless you & all you hold dear. Keep on rockin'🤘🏻😊

As much as you enjoy Nightwish .... one day in the not too distant future you should sit down watch the entire Wacken show from start to finish. React of course, as good as they are in each song when you watch the whole show it really brings a deeper understanding and focus on the genius and the talent involved. Floor's a natural leader while she welcomes everyone who gladly follow along knowing that she will deliver something unique and special. Only to realize that we're now addicted for life.

lyrics Baptised with a perfect name The doubting one by heart Alone without himself War between him and the day Need someone to blame In the end, little he can do alone You believe but what you see You receive but what you give Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak Apart from the wandering pack In this brief flight of time we reach For the ones, whoever dare You believe but what you see You receive but what you give Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak Reaching, searching for something untouched Hearing voices of the Never-Fading calling Caress the one, the Never-Fading Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow Caress the one, the hiding amaranth In a land of the daybreak

Once again a fantastic reaction, Eric. I really appreciate how you emphasise the complete lack of ego in that band. You've touched on it in other videos as well, for example regarding Emppus solo in Dead Boys Poem. Not showing off, just serving the song. Floor does that as well every damn time. The song comes first. Everytime. Thanks again. Looking forward to more from you. Storytime is another banger. And some day you'll get to Poet and the Pendulum. But I appreciate that you, unlike a fair chunk of reactors, hasn't rushed into that one. The more you know the band, the deeper that one will touch.

Eric, you never disappoint with the effort and heartfelt wonder you bring into your reactions. Loved this one. I agree wholeheartedly about Tuomas's genius in building the structure upon which these terrific live performers do their magic. Floor's stage presence is so natural and commanding that the audience fails to realize they are under her mesmeric control. I have come to love Nightwish and this was a really fun one.

This one was an Annette song. Floor doesn't break a sweat singing this one. It allows her to take a little breather from the epic belting. In some videos (Phantom of the Opera) you do see Jukka holding his head due to playing with a migraine. Great descriptive commentary again Eric!

Nightwish are definately their own class of music, Nobody lets their ego take over, those who have are gone, the only exceptions are Jukka and Marco, they left for long term health reasons. Floor is a unique force in the singers of the world. I love Amaranthe, listen to the Reach version just for yourself (It is Marco singing the demo for Amaranthe, it is powerful and raw, but shows how they used to write before Floor)

Too all Praise of Floor, and its redeemed, and She said that often herself, did get an take the Chance to be Part of an absolute top notch Band of proffesional Artist, and she now had 5 more Brothers. Without NW , no one would know, where Floor would be Today. They deserves another all together, and we should be just happy to be just here, when They do their Magic. For me, Jukka always were overplaying with his whole Gesture, Concentration and Energy, so he simply is bigger then his threat. For me you can see his Balls from an Satellite, such an positive Maniac. The thing that Empuu looks after him at High Hopes is an Myth and corrected by the Band, theres nothing happened as that. That said, that they are very tight, and as strong individual Artist, just step all one or two Foot back, and show up the whole NW-Performance. Stay Healthy NWA Bavaria out.

my first ever exposure to NW was seeing the video for this on late night MTV. when you listen to the studio version with Annette, it sounds faster. just before this song, Floor said to the crowd, "we've been hearing you loud and clear, singing along to all of our songs. i want hear you even louder. maybe you can sing louder than we can." how every NW song can sound unique, but, they all sound like NW. notice, Floor's top is starting to tear along the seam under her left arm. shoutout to whomever Floor's wardrobe person is. they all go off stage for the instrumental in GLS. when they come back out, it's fixed.

This whole idea that Jukka suffers from migraines is new to me, I always thought it was just severe insomnia. The last few months I'm hearing people passing onto a few reactors that he suffers with migraines. I mean, that could be true, but that is completely news to me. For years now, it was always insomnia being the main issue for him. Has this been a case of 'Chinese whispers' and the information has been morphed from insomnia to migraines? In a Nightwish documentary Jukka stated that insomnia was the reason he had to discontinue as drummer.

I really enjoyed watching your Nightwish reactions, discovery. Seems much more honest and real than many other channels. I have another band to suggest and would be fun to see your take on, the swedish band Orbit Culture. Found them with luck here on youtube and now its one of my favorite bands, have tickets to see them this summer. I'm not great with genres but its groove/melodic metal. A lot of people say its like modern heavier Metallica. North Star of Nijah live in studio is probably one of the best songs to start with because you can see and hear the band play
