OK, now, after I found my contenance again, here some background for you ERIC: One of the rare songs that was sung by all 3 vocalists. One of the rare songs that is not based on an idea of Tuomas. Its about the solar eclipse of 11.August 1999 in Northern Europe.(...222 days of light....) (longest time in Romania with 2min30somewhat seconds----greetings to Gabriel Bardac) As such written and released in 1999 short before the solar eclipse. Making it into the top-charts in some countries..... ....of course Finland No 1....... I believe the production company ( Drakkar Records) asked him to write a song about it with the addition: please not longer than 3 mins. Knowing Tuomas...he made it in about 4:30 mins ! And it was one of NW´s first released singles I believe. Its an emotional, magical ballad. Tissue-alert for you?....no.....I believe not....but when the GODDESS raises HER voice.....for me all the time...... This day in 1999 will forever reminded by me as very magical one. The world stood still...total silence ...even the birds were quiet.....

Sometimes it feels like people need to be mean about Tarja out of principle, bc they like Floor better or still hold a grudge against her for what happenend almost 20 years ago. But it doesn't matter, Tarja is doing her thing and you can see how happy she is 💚💚

Tarja's voice is so brilliant, it was already beautiful with Nightwish but it has grown in more interesting ways since then. This was part of a documentary episode/interview and she's got such a sweet and bubbly personality while at the same time being so down-to-earth, and it shines through here, she's always a joy to watch! :) Thank you for the reaction! I don't think Tuomas would have expected one of his songs to be covered like this! But I don't think would hate it given the original concept of Nightwish. The Finnish folk section is a rough approximation of the style he envisioned. That is until he heard Tarja sing and it changed symphonic metal!

Tuomas has approved the Finnish band Eläkeläiset to make a humppa (polka, oompah) version of Nemo... He has even said it was an honor... SO, I don't think he disagrees this at all...

This performance is so fun to watch 😄 they all are having so much fun. Thank you! I think this is the most recent thing that you have heard Tarja singing. So yes, her voice has evolved and changed a lot since her Nightwish days😊 They also did a version of Tarja's song Until My Last Breath. Very interesting rendition, too.

Tuomas didn’t even want to write this song, and it became one of his best beloved ballads. Even when he’s not trying hard, he’s trying hard. Certainly one of my all time favourites, any version

The music that comes out from Finland is so amazing. Two very different artists combining so brilliantly, both parties adding so much to this song. I have always loved the version of Sleeping Sun from End of an Era. This version is so different but just as amazing. Love it! Can’t listen to it without foot tapping. Pretty much impossible. Seagulls did a whole Seagulls Nest interview with Tarja. What stands out is how much fun they had together. This carried into the two songs they performed together, Sleeping Sun and Until My Last Breath. Now their fans can enjoy the songs and have as much fun.

Tarja performed this song in 3 different styles with NightWish (One for the Album, One for a Video and One for the Live Performances) each one has a different, but linked effect almost like a different Song or Artist. When Floor performed it there was a fourth style added, with this performance makes a fifth style. Not a Song for Most Vocalists, it really shows the talent levels of Floor and Tarja. Anette's Version is not bad, but she is a different type of Artist with Different Voice. The Rest I Just Concur, Concur.

"Dour necessity" is a really interesting and apt way to put it. Holopainen wrote this song as essentially a *dirge* for Nightwish, which then unintentionally became this quintessential song for the Finnish midsummer. (Midsummer is a big deal here in the Nordics, it's like the summer counterpart to Christmas; everyone effs off to their summer cabins/the lakeside with their nearest and dearest to enjoy music and booze around a campfire.) The commenter who said it's almost a black comedy take on the original kind of hit the spot too -- this version takes the song, with its longing mood, tenderness, and whole-ass singalong melodrama -- to a campfire song with shades something you'd hear at an outdoor dance pavilion. What makes it really special and especially hilarious and so very good is how it combines Tarja's massive vocals with a folksy arrangement in a tiny shed (with the biggest guy, Hiltunen, the accordion player put in the most cramped corner naturally), and the way all the musicians there just... have so much fun with that (locally) well-known song. I don't know, there's just something about turning a well-known, melodromatic metal standard into a wild, cheeky campfire song with tango aesthetics that tickles me!

Pretty cool version. They also did, at this session, a solo Tarja song called Until My Last Breath. I didn't see it on your channel, have you heard the Nightwish version? If not, please check it out. End of an Era 2005 for Tarja, and Tampere 2015 or Masters of Rock 2016 for Floor.

Such a fun, unique version. This contrast of dark melancholy lyrics with fun uplifting music/melodies is quite a common thing in Finnish music I have found. Bands like Sentenced and Children Of Bodom are a perfect example. Creates almost like a 'dark comedy' type vibe imo.

Well noticed. It's definitely part of the Finnish culture. Sentenced especially pushed this thing, their lyrics were usually about depression, suicide and death, but there was a lot of dark humor in it. Melancholy is undoubtedly a trademark for Finnish heavy metal bands. "Dark comedy" is really good term, i'm gonna steal that and use it myself 😅

Hello. What I love is seeing the countru girl from the outskirts of a small Finnish village on a lake who went and learned to sing, then went to.high scholl, a music conserervatory and finally a Germam Music academy to earn her masters degree, who went on to global fame by helping start off a new form of music, namely symphonic metal based on Lied music. Mixing the country sound they all have in common with rock and throwing in Argentine.Tango with Polka, well who but these crazy people would have thought it up and.who but Tarja could blend it into one cohesive whole? I do.quote singer Anastasia Luna " She (Tarja) could sing the phonebook." I add, and make it touch your soul. I don't know if you have seen Crewish Dark Chest of wonders. On the cover Tarja AND.Tapio provided vocals as they did on Once back in 04. Tuomas recorded new keyboard track as well. Crewish called their 2nd album Twice. 😂😂 Getting all 3 on the same track (recorded seperately) is a major feat and gift. Other then that I have to suggest Tarja Outlanders The Cruelest goodbye. The album is one that has to be.experienced.

@karadenizin-kizi No, dear, I'm in my 50s and live in a rich neighnorhood...I am not confused. Her forehead has a lot of Botox in it. Just because her eyebrows move, doesn't mean it's not there! I know how old she is, many ppl get Botox in their 30s! And, I'm not saying it's bad, nor am I knocking her for it! She's a beautiful lady, and I think she'd be just as lovely wo it!

I think that she neither has nor wants nor tries to prove anything after so many years of career. The guys do these weird but beautiful covers of various songs (by various bands) and she is a guest on this show. Tarja is always open-minded, she goes everywhere she is invited and is not afraid to do anything. her career is a clear example of a variety of musical styles.

steve n seagulls invited her on their show and arranged this cover and also turned one of her own songs into a tango.. because that's what they do on the show. for fun ❤ and the guests go along because they are also open to having fun. you should try it some time! :)
