LED ZEPPELIN~~IS THE GREATEST ROCK BAND OF ALL TIME! (Sorry, Mick, but that's just the way it is, and how it will always be). No Band ever had greater command of a Stage than the MIGHTY ZEPPELIN! With the approval of Zeus, they channeled all of the THUNDER, LIGHTNING and the HAMMER of the GODS!! Their Music belongs to the Ages, will never be forgotten and can never be diminished, as it will always stand the test of time. That's how I felt about them 50 Years ago, and still do to this very day!

I was actually around in those days. Granted, very very young. I was 12 years old in 1973. I seen the movie in 1976 when I was 15 years old in a huge Baroque style theater that had acoustics like you would not believe. It was like being at a real Led Zeppelin Concert. Just as good (I did see them live too). As a guitarist myself who was even better then than I am now, this blew my mind. How in the world did JP come up with that great stuff? Led Zeppelin was always my favorite band. I can't believe it! They're still timeless. Every still loves them! They were so great! Thank you for posting this video. You have great taste in music. Music is timeless. I like Beatnik Jazz too which was created even before I was born. I like everything good from the old old days all the way up to now days. Nice job! Peace!

The bassist/keyboardist is John Paul Jones. The Rain Song is my favorite song of theirs; it is moody, melancholy, yet triumphant all at the same time. You said you'd like to have Led Zeppelin played at your wedding so try listening to their song Thank You which Robert wrote for his wife. There isn't a video performance of it so you'd have to do audio only. They have a few concerts on KZbin: Denmark in '69, Royal Albert Hall in 1970, The Song Remains The Same concert movie filmed at MSG, which is what you've been reacting to. It was recorded in 1973, however it wasn't released until 1976. They have a concert from Earls Court in 1975, and Knebworth in 1979. They do have a concert from Seattle in 1977 but the video quality isn't very good at times. There are tons of bootleg concerts also that are easy to find.

This "Rain Song" off this LP is from my 7/28/73 show. Along w/ "The Song Remains the Same" and No Quarter" as well. It's Possible that "Since I've Been Loving You" may as well. But that is not confirmed yet!! It was a Perfect Summer NYC Saturday Night that GREAT evening. I was still only 16 and this was my 9 show of the Spring / Summer of '73. Still have 3 more to go to finish my 1st year on my concert journey that started on 4/21/73 w/ Procol Harum @ the Felt Forum, NYC!! PS: Would go on to see Zep x 3 more on 2/3/75 @ MSG, 2/8/75 at the Spectrum sitting in 5th Row Center and last on 6/7/77. Still # 1 was this one on 7/28/73!!

When they crashed on to the scene was perfect timing and Their Manager directed the to the States before their first album was even released was risky but perfect. Zeppelin ruled the world at that time. They were the kings of Rock-N-Roll. The private jets the police escorts with the speeding limos. The shut New York down when they landed and stayed for 5 days. Yes, they are way too good indeed. For another amazing live performance from them, check out their amazing gig at Royal Albert Hall in 1970. Tons of great songs to react to, they were in primal, hard rock mode there as it happened not long after Led Zeppelin's II was released, a seminal album in rock history and one that deeply affected my generation, setting a standard they would only polish even more. From that show try the 20 minute How Many More Times, another classic live tune I need to see how you react to it. Also What Is and What Should Never Be and Bring It On Home. Also, don't ignore the studio albums, if you want to react to live, remember to listen to the studio albums in their entirety on your time, it will be well worth the musical journey and you will be amazed when you do. Thanks again for listening, you have great, positive energy, something in short supply on planet Earth. Rock On and Enjoy! 🎵

I requested this performance in the comments section of your dazed and confused (I’m not the only one) and I was so excited to see this video in my notifications! I figured it would be the one that sealed the deal and make you fall head over heels in love with this band… I have watched pretty much all the zeppelin reactions on yt and “the rain song” in particular seems to evoke the same feelings for most reactors. At the end, when we close on Jimmy for that final guitar outro I have seen at least 3 other reactors, at that exact moment, say pretty much the same thing you did, “Jimmy Page is a God!” I can’t fault your logic, surely a man who can write such melodies and perform them so brilliantly, is more than a man… Your reaction did not disappoint at all, you definitely “get” this band, and you are on this journey for the long haul, because you have still just barely scratched the surface of Led Zeppelin’s catalog. While we are still at MSG in 1973 the next song should either be: - “No Quarter” the song most associated with bassist and keyboardist John Paul Jones(JPJ or Jonesy) and one of the three songs from this concert/film that are, IMO, better then the original album versions, the others being “since I’ve been loving you”, and “the rain song”. This song is dark and mysterious, with beautiful organ work that builds into probably Jimmy’s most ferocious and intense solo… it was played on all three major Zeppelin North American tours, in 73’ 75’ and 77’… so there are a LOT of versions, but this one is still my favorite. - “Whole Lotta Love” the final encore on the last stop of a an insane American tour… Led Zeppelin at maximum swagger, maximum volume, maximum sexual power… Jimmy page the wizard, John bonham on fire, and also actual fire and explosions… sellout Madison Square Garden entranced and begging for more… as I’m writing this I think you already reacted to this song 😂, lol sorry. So yeah, my vote is “No Quarter”

For a little context about this show. I was 14 at the time and couldn't get to the garden for the show. Zeppelin put out a poster with Jimmy, and his double neck guitar, and Robert. Inextricably linked in the minds of followers as Tracks 1 and 2 on their 1973 album 'Houses of the Holy' (which, in typically perverse Zeppelin fashion, did not feature the song 'Houses of the Holy') the breathless abandon of the opener - Robert Plant's vocals were speeded up slightly on the original recording to make the sound even higher and thinner - is relieved by the soft comedown of the finisher. Essential listening.

Have you ever been able to locate yourself in the crowd when they pan the audience?

@@Itelkner unfortunately I sat on the green seats which were the next level up...but I did better than that because I was lucky enough to become friends with Jimmys girlfriend so I got to spend time with them and even talk about this concert...he and Scarlett his girlfriend are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet
