I got a very big surprise last night. I introduced my oldest Daughter and her husband to The Warning about 3 weeks ago. They live in Montana. She said Dad we saw The Warning at louder then life in Louisville, Kentucky. It floored me. It warmed my heart that they liked the girls so much they flew to see them.

There is a fairly crazy story about that Mrrcury Lounge show. They had been trying to find a venue in New York, and everywhere was booked out. An artist booked at Mercury Lounge withdrew at a late date, and The Warning were offered the date. The tickets sold out within 24 hours, and the venue were surprised. A band they had hardly eard of, from Mexico sold out in that short a time, so they offered them a second night. In between the two shows the Warning went to a direct-to-disc recording studio to record 20 copies of Narcisista as part of a fundraising pledge. The recordings were personalised by adde=ing a short message for the recipient.

There was an event in their show at Teatro Diana, Guadalajara, a week before the Pepsi center show, where they paused the show while one guy proposed to his girlfriend. Obviously arranged with the band beforehand, of course.

So fun to watch The warning interviews I have seen so many I have lost count but there is one interview they did in 2015 that will always be my favorite and if you haven't seen it yet you must have a look and it would be a fun one to watch your reaction to, assuming you have not already seen it that is. It is titled "The Warning - English Interview 2015"

The maturity and professionalism from them is amazing when you remember that they are all still 24 and younger. I hope you find out who did the string arrangements for the Pepsi CDMX concert. I am guessing that Pau was the major hand on that. I listened to Metallica's version of Enter Sandman with strings and it is much simpler than the Warning's version. I am feeling Pau's inner Tchaikovsky coming through.

Too many observers have the unfortunate examples of American artists hoping to sing their way out of poverty and the resulting industry abuses of them. In the case of the Warning... they had a stable comfortable life style and were in a traditional Catholic school education and music was "fun" for them growing up. I think of my son, in French immersion kindergarten, saying to me "I really want to learn daddy but I want to learn in English". We had him repeat kindergarten in English and he rolled right along having fun and learning like crazy. He had his own way of learning, and allowed to live it out he won award after award and scholarship after scholarship and eventually graduated Oxford with a DPhil in Theology. Recruited into a major university he is now the one doing the teaching. I see that both examples are of children allowed to play at what they liked and allowed to enjoy what thjey were doing. Encouraged and supported to follow their own vision and interest... in the end, when we look at them as they are now, none of it was planned... it was simply the result.

Jaguares was originally called Caifanes, and it was under this name that they achieved their greatest successes and glory. After disagreements between the two founders (Saul Hernández and Alejandro Markovich), Saul decided to rename the band Jaguares. I'll leave you two links so you can listen and judge for yourself. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oarLc2hrpd1jiLMsi=4o2AT3eSyq3Oblh3 and again reunited as Caifanes this year kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHa3p2aVa8ysiNUsi=2GwVoLemXq7mcGj7 Love all your creations, big fan from Mexico and of course BIG FAN of our proudly Rock Queens The Warning 🤘🤘🤘🤘💥

Mana (accent on the 2nd a) is a very good band that sings mainly about social issues. Theirs many, but one I would recommend is Cuando Los Angeles Lloran. It's about a Brazilian activist that was murdered trying to preserve the Amazon. It's worth a listen. I imagine you can get the English lyrics for the song to understand it more. TY Glenn.

Now, for an unconventional recommendation: consider watching a live video of Pau baking a cake from about three years ago. While it may seem like an odd suggestion, I find such videos offer a deeper insight into the band members' personalities. Interviews can be entertaining, but they often recycle similar questions and responses. The video is titled "The Warning | Pau baking a cake," can be found on The Warning Army channel. Though it's nearly two hours long, you could watch / react to it in half-hour segments. Thanks for reaction. 🤘⚡

There is often a divide between those who see Maná as more pop and less rock, but they are huge in terms of commercial and international success, while Caifanes (later morphed into Jaguares) is the more hard core early Mexican rock, with roots from 1980s The Cure. I would encourage early Caifanes “Le Célula Que Explota” as a classic early tune to see the OMV. Maná has a good MTV unplugged

For Muse, try Hysteria and Resistance from their first couple of albums. Those are both songs TW covered. I saw My Chemical Romance when they opened for Green Day in 2004. They were touring for their first album for a major label titled "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge". Note: they had an indie album prior to that. I've never heard it, though. They are good performers but that wasn't the best setting for them, as they had everything muddled up in the mix and way too loud from using Green Day's PA system without their own sound tech. They were that new on the scene. The album is pretty good. The best song is "Helena". "The Black Parade" is a really good concept album. "Welcome to the Black Parade" and "Teenagers" are my favorite songs. But my favorite MCR album that I always play all the way through is another concept album titled "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys". "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)", "Poison Party", Planetary (GO!), and "SING" are my favorites. There is actually a slower version of SING song titled "#SINGItForJAPAN" that they released after the Fukoshima disaster in Japan 2011 that happened around the time the album was released. They redid the lyrics and changed up the tempo a bit to release it as a single to donate the proceeds to the victims of the disaster. Hope that helps you sample some things about the band.

About Muse. You could react to Muse's songs *"Hysteria"* & "*Resistance"* since The Warning did covers of these songs. I only know one *"Resistance"* Warning cover video. Plus I know you did The Warning's *"Hysteria"* from Liceo. But there are others out there they did live. That's if you want to double them up. A Muse then The Warning's cover.

The best-known Mexican rock bands, as has happened with the genre in the United States and Europe and we can include South America, are made up of people who are already in their late forties, fifties or even sixties and seventies. The rock movement was concentrated mainly in large urban areas such as Mexico City and its metropolitan area, Guadalajara and finally Monterrey. Maná (the most successful), Café Tacuba and Molotov or even Moderatto (to which Jay de la Cueva belonged) rose to fame in the 90s, Caifanes/Jaguares began their career in the 80s as a band like The Cure together with Maldita Vecindad, while El TRI did so in the 70s. These bands were characterized by always making songs in Spanish and generally with a social theme (except Moderatto who made sarcasm of glam rock). The bands that started in the 20th century did so with the fall of the genre like Panda, Elefante, Zoë, Hello Seahorse, composing only in Spanish, they did not achieve the fame and recognition of their predecessors, but still in the mainstream. With the second decade, bands began to venture into writing songs in English like Ellis Paprika or Descartes a Kant (both from Guadalajara), but without achieving great success because social networks were just beginning. The Warning is the first band that successfully managed to transition to writing in English and I attribute this to the fact that the previous ones that tried it, did so with a mental scheme in Spanish transposed to English, while the Villareal sisters, starting so young and being from Montrrey (closer to the border), managed to do it with a mental scheme in English and it is because of this that what they comment happens, when they try to write in Spanish because they do not naturally flow in this language when writing It is not that it is more difficult to write rock in Spanish, it is more difficult for them because of the mental scheme they use to compose
