REACTION TIME | DBZ Abridged Movie "Dead Zone" - Who The Hell Is This Guy?!

Reaction video time brings us the first movie in the DBZ Abridged series that we're gonna react to. This one is called, "Dead Zone", and apparently this one takes place prior to season one of the series.
One of the MANY things I love about DBZ Abridged is that no matter what type of characters come into play, the voice acting and dialogue are always hysterical! :-D

Explanation of the whole DBZ abridged movie thing: This was the first DBZ movie ever made. It was followed by World's Strongest and Tree of Might. Before TFS was formally made, a bunch of the guys that currently compose it (and some others) got together to make a Dead Zone Abridged. They did the same thing with World's Strongest (no need to look them up; they're very old and not up to TFS standard). Once TFS was formed and they started making the series, they decided to start abridging the movies. But, since they'd already done Dead Zone and World's Strongest before, they decided to skip them and go straight to Tree of Might (and then Lord Slug, Cooler, Cooler again, and Android 13). Years later, they decided to go back and do Dead Zone and World's Strongest since the original ones weren't TFS productions and they thought they could do far better with their modern methods and resources. Their next movie project should be Broly. In the time since they made episode 16, they switched out several voice actors, like Kami. And that thing at the start with Popo and Kami? Kami and Piccolo are two halves of the same being. If one dies, the other dies, too. If Kami dies, then the Dragon Balls will stop working. Popo was telling Kami that he's an idiot for thinking that Piccolo was dead because, if he was, Kami would be dead, too. Also, Kami was telling Garlic Jr. that he was an idiot for trying to kill Piccolo (and, by extension, Kami) _before_ he used the Dragon Balls. Had his minions been successful, he wouldn't have been able to make a wish. Garlic Jr. lucked out because his henchmen can't kill a Yoshi properly. And all the god jokes? Kami is Japanese for god, and Kami in-series is pretty much one. And finally, that ending joke with Krillin and Nappa... that one's not going to make any sense until the end of season 2. Basically, TFS are writing off the massive plot hole of just how goddamn stupid Garlic Jr. was in this movie as it being a rough draft of a movie that Krillin is pitching. This isn't the first time that they've brushed off supplementary content that was kinda stupid by saying that it was just something someone in-universe came up with. TL;DR: This was the first DBZ movie made, but the fourth that TFS abridged. It was made in 2013, when the series was at episode 37. Kami is a god. If Piccolo dies, Kami dies, and vice-versa. If Kami dies, the Dragon Balls won't work any more. The final joke with Krillin and Nappa will come full-circle once you get further in the series.

Let me fill you up on piccollo. before dragonball a nanekian applied to be god of earth but didnt got the job because he had too much evil in him, so he went and split in two entities, an evil one that calls himself demon king Piccollo and the good one that once again applied and got the job then proceded to make the dragon balls to give hope to the people of the earth. mid dragonball kid goku mortally wounded king piccollo but before he dies he spits out an egg that will become piccollo junior. Junior set out to fend for himself and train in orfer to kill Goku for revenge and then take over the world. in the final season of dragonball goku defeated junior but spared him because if he dies kami dies. At the neggining of dbz in order to kill Raditz he manages to kill Goku exacting the revenge he wanted and kidnaps Gohan to make him his pupil to rule the world by his side. during that year he grows attached to gohan and learns how to care for others. These emotions keep growing eventually making him throw out the idea of taking over the world and turning him into the yoshi we all know and love.

In case you didn't know (and because you seemed a bit confused at the joke of Kami telling Garlic Junior that he tried killing Piccolo and then using the Dragon Balls), Piccolo (well his 'father' if you could call it that) and Kami used to be one being. Something happened and they were split into two halves, a good side and an evil side; if Piccolo is killed then Kami is killed and vice versa. Kami created the Dragon Balls but if he dies, the Dragon Balls cease to work thus if you kill Piccolo, that kills Kami and breaks the Dragon Balls.

+Spaz Boys Comedy Hi guys! Some things you may have missed. Krillin being Krillin, Piccolo is actually piccolo Junior. His "father" (remember. Yoshi breed asexually) was demon king Piccolo. Kami (old Yoshi) is the good half of Demon Piccolo. Piccolo Junior is the 'evil' half. That's the reason Goku and He hate each other. The homosexual jokes are sort of an IN-joke because Kaiser Neko one of the creators is gay, (and is now married to his husband) and finds that humor hilarious. The Gohan Apple scene wasn't edited. It was as the original Japanese version intended. Icarus (the purple dragon) was a pet dragon He kept, while Goku was away. Let me know guys and Curtis if I missed something.

Info time! The joke about how Garlic jr dodged a bullet and the drama queen joke at beginning goes as follows: Piccolo and Kami is the same person, in that if one of them dies, the other one dies too. And if they die, the Dragonballs stop working. And all the God jokes is a reference to Kami, which is the japanese name of God. And Krillin has already died once in the original series, sooooooo...... I hope you guys also react to the rest of the movies! I think the nest ones you can see are nr 2, 3 and 4.

The actual movies aren't considered canon, but TFS somewhat tries to loop them in so it goes : dead zone, world's strongest, Christmas tree of might, lord slug. Then after DBZ abridged 30 part 3: Cooler's revenge, Cooler's Return, History of Trunks and Super Android 13. However they're non-canon (except the trunks one) so you can really watch them in any order, it just might make more sense that way

Something I don't think has been brought to your attention so far is that there was a being that watched over the Earth who created the dragon balls long, long ago. After seeing the evil that flourished on Earth, he decided he wanted to rid himself of the evil within himself so he could be worthy of the title of 'Guardian of Earth' and help those who lived on Earth better. So he purged the evil within his own heart, splitting himself in two: Kami (the old green Yoshi) is the good half, while King Piccolo was the evil half, who sought world conquest and domination. Since they are two halves of the same whole, if one dies, so does the other (but see below). And their existence is what powers the dragon balls, so if they die, the dragon balls stop working, too. During the original Dragon Ball, King Piccolo was one of young Goku's strongest foes, who he finally killed near the end of the original series. But as he died, King Piccolo spat out an egg (hence Goku thinking that Namekians are Yoshis), and the baby inside the egg had all of the old King Piccolo's memories. So now we have the present Piccolo, who holds a grudge against Goku. Thing is, Piccolo is pretty crabby, but he's not 100% evil like the old King Piccolo, and caring for Gohan has softened his heart considerably, so he's actually not too bad now. But! Since Piccolo is the reincarnation of King Piccolo, he's tied to Kami like the old King Piccolo was. If one dies, so does the other, and the dragon balls will stop working, too. That's why Popo was telling Kami he was an idiot for thinking that Piccolo was dead. Because Kami was still alive. That means Piccolo was, too, so questioning it in the original movie made him sound like a moron.

12:12 To clear up the confusion, If Kami (the old green guy) dies then the dragon balls are useless. Thus if he had killed Kami first then he couldn't use the dragon balls to wish for immortality. That's why he said "I dodged a bullet on that one". Also Kami and piccolo were split from one being and if one dies the other dies as well. So if they had succeeded killing piccolo at the beginning of the movie, Kami would also be dead (that's why Popo keep saying "drama queen") and thus the dragon balls would have been useless.

Just to clarify, this is the second time TFS has done Deadzone. Before they official formed TFS, They were known as Neighborhood Cluck and have done abridged versions of the first two movies. They are objectively funnier.

In Dragon Ball when they were kids, Krillin died and they wished him back with the dragon balls. Earths dragon balls can only bring someone back from the dead once. So if he dies again itll be an issue. (anyone commenting on this, I have seen DB, DBZ, DBGT, all of the movies atleast 3 times each and I am currently watching DB Super. I made sure not to put anything spoiler related so please dont comment any spoilers, to try and expand on what I have said)

And since Kami created the Dragon balls, if he or Piccolo die(2 halves of the same being), the Dragon balls no longer work

Krillin was killed in Dragon Ball when he was 16 and was revived a year later. He is now 25/26. Also, Goku is 24/25 and Bulma is 29. The double ages for Goku and Krillin is because I don't know if you can count while the time they spent dead, so I put both.

When your wished back with the dragon balls, its not a clone. its the same person just alive again. Krillin was already killed once by the demon henchman, Tambourine, of Piccolo's Father, King Piccolo. This series doesn't have death as a consequence for the main cast or random civilians. So, even IF Krillin dies again, he'd be back in like an episode or two (Same exact person, no changes to his character), same with everybody else. Minus, the characters Nappa killed since they're technically dead until the end of the Freeza Saga

Why didnt Kami (and Dende later) not make a dragon who only fullfil the wishes of good people... And was there any explanation in the original why the hell Garlic jr. wants to kill God and then uses the dragon balls? And do you really think his eternal life in a black nothing is Garlics biggest problem? Well what creature could be in a black void...

Kami originally created the dragon balls for people in need and humanity did what humanity does lmao. If it wasn't specifically Goku wanting to bring back everyone killed by Piccolo Shenron was dead to rights before the last arc of Dragon ball. (As for dende ..... idk lol)
