This was a great reaction to this beautiful song. It feels like I have known this for decades (I think it was around 1990 as I heard at a lot of solo stuff by Freddie at that time), but - as always - your analysis pointed things out I never heard. Thank you for that. As suggestion for future videos: Queen at the Live Aid Concert in 1985.

Interesting information. The one I heard and saw was the private one and I'm sorry that isn't available. Just a stage, similar but not as flamboyant lighting, Freddie and a piano. Absolutely stunning. I am glad to hear this one, it won't take the place of the first one I heard, but it still is fabulous with the chorus. I think the lyrics really are more poignant with the solo song. But thank you for playing this. When I first heard the solo version, it went directly to my heart and it is a song that is particularly suited to the times we are in right now. It is and will always be one of my top favorites. I wish Freddie was alive so I could tell him what it means to me. Again, David, thank you for this. The lady that showed me the original said the Dave Clark wanted him to be in the musical. Freddie said he couldn't make the matinees. I wonder if this is close to what Dave Clark had envisioned for the musical. She said he did the one I saw was one that Freddie did especially for Dave Clark.

It really was a beautifull song and performance. I haven't heard it before. Not to take anything from Freddies performance here, it's worthy of all praise, but I couldn't help wondering how this song would sound if it was covered by Tommy J today. He comes to my mind immidiately as he did his cover of Bohemian Rapsody a fortnight ago and I don't think Freddie would have found that cover boring. This is just a song that would be fitting for Tommy's voice as well, and he would do the piano part excellently too.
