Yes, the one who is not touched by Angelina, then and now, I feel a little sorry for. She touches our souls and our hearts in a way I have never experienced before. There is health and joy in every single sound she makes. Thank you for encouraging everyone to visit Angelina's own channels. I can't shake the feeling that everything she does is for all of us. That seems to be her personal main objective. When people praise her she is very happy because she knows she has touched them and that is when she expresses joy. Liz, she is a Messenger of Love. I believe that with all my heart.

@333 Thanks for that. There are so many things going on with her, to believe they are coincidental is not a plausible explanation. And, it's definitely a two way street: We enjoy her and draw strength from who she is but, there is no question, the more of us who discover her and follow her give her strength to continue what she does, to inspire us, with her love, to be the best we can be as human beings and begin to make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly for those less fortunate. People like us who have open hearts immediately recognized the love in her heart and joined her on her journey. What will be interesting is how she can reach people whose door to their hearts are not completely open. At first, they will not "get it". But, I can picture someone like that, in a moment when they are particularly vulnerable, listening to Angelina sing for them and begin to break down and start sobbing. (I'm getting emotional just thinking about that because I will be so happy for those people.)

Great reaction and she has that same thing Elvis had and no one else has it! That's when she walks in a room or anywhere, everybody stops and wants to know what she is going to say or sing, with great anticipation and if she says this way it goes that way, total respect an admiration. God definitely gave us a wonderful gift, God Bless!

You nailed it Liz! Brilliant reaction. There's such an emotional and supportive feeling that Angelina's followers share that I haven't seen it matched with other performers. Her followers are very proud and protective of her. Some of the older followers, such as myself, think of her almost as a grandchild. Seeing her at 16 months old singing, playing and performing with her little sister, sharing herself on podcasts and interviews make Angelina part of our extended family. We're proud of who she was, what she's accomplished so far, and who she's going to be; someday a voice that will touch the world. Welcome to the family!

Thank you and I love your reactions to our favorite young singer. This was the third video I saw of Angelina I watched Gloomy Sunday and I'm a Fool to Want You but didn't catch Bang Bang until after Summertime. Summertime is the one that floored me and brought out the tears. AGT came a couple months later and I watched it "live" on January 6 2020. Please adjust your volume for the performance. Your talking is twice as loud. Thanks again.

It should be noted that Angelina's grandmother Mery Zamani was very much into jazz and found her granddaughter was as well. When Ella Fitzgerald did this song she was accompanied by the trumpet of Louis Armstrong leading her into the song and that is what Angelina does here, emulating Ella's iconic version to perfection. Just goes to prove that 'grandma knows best !'

Grandma may have introduced jazz to Angelina but I think Angelina was the driving force behind her own search for the jazz greats.
@ridgemanron
@ridgemanron 2 жыл бұрын
@@todradmaker4297 Grandma Mery was far more than just the introductory force behind Angelina's unbelievably fast ascension in the jazz genre, for it is no secret that as a young prodigy herself, she adored the jazz greats of yesteryear. Her decision to have a trumpet beginning Angelina's NGT performance of Summertime is exactly what Ella Fitzgerald did, using the legendary Louis Armstrong as her 'lead in' into the singing of the song. It was, to put it mildly, sheer genius.

@@ridgemanron I certainly don't want to belittle her grandmother's contribution to Angelina's journey into the world of jazz. She has been her number one supporter, has video taped numerous performances, and Angelina has stated that she is her biggest inspiration. But I also think that Angelina deserves a lot of credit for her own development and drive behind her career. She knew at a very early age what she wanted to do and took it upon herself to search for what she was looking for. Quick question; how was it that Angelina discovered one of her favorite jazz artist, Billy Holiday?
@ridgemanron

@@todradmaker4297 - When Angelina mentioned on 'The View' that she began singing jazz at 1-1/2, I eventually got over the shock of that seemingly simple statement when I realized there was only one person in her immediate family who could even believe a baby was able to absorb music and lyrics, as well as vocally display them, and that was Grandma Mery. This, I believe was possible because, unlike us average humans, Mery was 'herself' a child prodigy and knew 'first hand' how much a gifted child could attain and perform intricacies involving detailed facets of music from personal experience. I was always intrigued by something that gets casually glossed over with regard to Grandma Mery. That is the fact that she was performing on a national program called 'Radio Iran' when she was 4 years old. We know she is a prodigy in art and poetry but I've read that her poetry wasn't published until she was 9, and displays of art doesn't coincide with being a performer on something like 'Radio Iran'. It's logical to believe she might have been proficient in music, either singing or playing an instrument expertly enough to be heard on national radio. I know her children were raised in Japan but not sure how much they were involved in the English language? Mery, on the other hand, was raised in Iran and I was told by an Iranian friend that during the time 'The Shah' allowed Western culture to thrive in the country, at the time Mery was raised there, American music was all the rage and most notably jazz. Mery was 'undoubtedly' immersed in it, for she is the only one in the family who would have an extensive knowledge and recordings of American jazz music. It doesn't take much of a leap to realize if she idolized Louis Armstrong on his trumpet, and singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, among many others, she would have exposed 'baby' Angelina' to all of it. When Angelina performed her first first audition on NGT it wasn't until the night before that she was listening to Billie's 'Gloomy Sunday' and quickly knew she could master it immediately. This song, being in the extensive library of jazz artists she must have possessed from Grandma Mery's direction, was then a 'last minute' decision to perform it. I don't believe Sara would have allowed it, because of its dark lyrics, had she had more time to analyze it, for we know how strict she was with regard to other 'dark' songs she had Angelina adjust the lyrics to. Angelina's second NGT performance was another of Billie's songs (I'm A Fool To Want You) and she did this in a'capella from start to finish, even though the complexities of mid-sentence note/key changes in it are immense, not to mention the difficulty of total a'capella singing throughout. We then 'fast forward' to Summertime in her final performance. Who, other than Mery, would have recommended it begin with a single trumpet as a 'lead in', the way Louis Armstrong did with Ella? When they say 'less can be more', this is an example of that, for sure, and catapulted Angelina to where she received 46% of the overall national vote involving many other acts in the finals. Also, did you notice Grandma Mery holding a placard that had a photo of Louis Armstrong's 'ballooned' cheeks as he played his trumpet? Grandma Mery realized 'early on' that she could command her granddaughter's full attention whenever she heard Mery's jazz library and knew as a child prodigy herself, how best to nurture Angelina in a genre that she loved, and quickly found that her granddaughter did as well. Think of it as Grandma being the mentor and conductor, with Angelina being able to absorb like a human sponge all that the genre of jazz had to offer and delight her. They say if you work at something you love, it isn't really work but an insatiable need to keep doing it. Grandma Mery provided that map in a way that her granddaughter was able to chart her way through at a speedy pace. Take Mery out of the equation and there is no way Angelina would have evolved as quickly as she did, and the possibility that she would have had stumbled upon a long forgotten genre on her own is also unlikely in a baby Norwegian girl who's first, or even second language is not English to begin with.

@@ridgemanron I feel like I need to set the record straight and point out the flaws in your narrative. Angelina's grandmother did not introduce her to Billie Holiday, she discovered her on her own through KZbin. This is her response to why she sang Gloomy Sunday; "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but "Gloomy Sunday" was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on KZbin before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed... I'm talking about jazz queen Billie Holiday. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song". You also claim that it was Mery Zamani, her grandmother, who introduced her to jazz. Once again I'll take it from Angelina herself. Here is a video of Angelina responding to an interviewer's question "How did your interest in music start?" at the 1:16 mark of this clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o33ShoJtqLN2d7s While her grandmother and her mom are certainly major influences in her life, her exploits into the realm of music stem from Angelina's own personal desire. While I am certainly grateful to her grandmother for her loving support and documenting her journey, I think we need to give Angelina the full credit for what she has become. We need to give this young lady the total agency that she deserves.

She won with almost half of the votes: she had as many votes as all other candidates combined. The high swing on the second daddy is how Ella did it when performing with Louis. Her vibrato is so amazing her. In stark and beautiful contrast with the way she sang Bang Bang in the semi final with very little vibrato. Be sure to listen to it if you haven't yet :-)

What a way for an Angel to begin her journey. From a toothless grin when she first took the stage with 'Gloomy Sunday', known in WW1 as the Hungarian suicide song, through a pitch perfect acapella performance of 'I'm a Fool to Want You' to a hauntingly lovely performance of 'Bang, Bang' Angelina captured a Nation and then the world with these incredible performances which culminated in this, what I believe was her first Masterpiece performance. The progression in her voice was phenomenal in those few short months which saw that magical grin filled with new teeth. Her voice in parts of this performance were ethereal, other worldly in some places. What a gift she has been to the world. Glad to see you have now had the chance to see where it began. You have been an avid supporter since you discovered Angelina and we love you for it Liz. Keep spreading the word. We will be here to support you as you continue to support our Angel. Love from the Land of Vikings and the Kensington Runestone, here in Mid-Minnesota.

Really enjoyed this one Liz, so thank you for another wonderful video and reaction with Angelina. The absolute beauty that Angelina sings with is only surpassed by the sweet, caring, humble, wonderful human being she is now and was then at 7-8 years old...she is who she is. You probably know that she donated the winnings from this show to children charities, an 8 year old who was already a humanitarian..... other artists, though there are many who do, should take a cue from this little girl on how to be this kind of person, especially when you have the platform and notoriety to make a difference in this world. Much 🧡 Liz, stay well and stay safe. See you on the next one.
