I'm no fan of monarchy, but I'd definitely live in AURORA's queendom. How many monarchs can you think of who'd say "drink until you've had enough" and "I'll drink from your hand?" And as you sort of alluded to in one comment, I don't think the song is an expression of her position as a queen among peasants, but rather a description of what an idealized version of her queendom would be-one of acceptance, empathy, and equality between her and all of her "subjects."
@KatyaLishch Жыл бұрын
Monarchy = dictatorship, where all power is in one hands and there are no elections. When a good monarch dies, a bad one, a tyrant, can take his place. And no one can do anything about it, because all power is in his hands. A very bad backward system for backward nations, like russians or africans.

When she was on the floor, she was "hunting the grounds for empathy", not being a strange beast. Not that she couldn't do that if it conveyed something. :D It's a wild and free anthem of inclusion and acceptance for the "underdogs" and the "silent ones".
@inayahcee31313 жыл бұрын
It just clicked with me that her lyric "I hunt the grounds for empathy, and hate the way it hides from me" followed by "you have a home in my queendom" Meaning for those who are different or feel different, many times the people of the world lack empathy and compassion for anyone that's different. They cast them out and make them feel alone. But Aurora is saying that she recognizes empathy hides in the world, her world will welcome you with open arms. Her queendom. 😭❤️❤️

@@NewfieReactions My recommendations include her iconic environmental anthem "The Seed;" "All is Soft Inside;" "Soulless Creatures; "Infections of a Different Kind;" "It Happened Quiet" (and some people commenting here will suggest others)! Preferably the live versions, for instance, from the HAIK 2019 concert she held in a forest, or the Nidarosdomen Christmas Concert in a cathedral with orchestral ensemble and choir, as well as the KEXP concert in Iceland (with Bjork in attendance)! All of her songs are different from each other, yet are interconnected thematically and lyrically! AURORA is also the Voice of the North Wind in Frozen II. You might also consider her covers: of Ariana Grande's "God is a Woman," David Bowie's "Life on Mars," Massive Attack's "Teardrop," Leonard Cohen's "The Partisan," Alanis Morissette's "Thank U," or John Lennon's "Across the Universe."

When I listen to the song Queendom, when I sing it, I myself AM my QUEENDOM come ;) In contrast to Kingdom, the Queendom is within everyone of us, and the elements and people around us co-creates it. As everyone has female and male sides conexisting in them, so we choose what we shine... The inner Queendom come, the Kingdom is in imo more exterior and ego based. Well that's my interpretation of it ....

OMG! You've really made my day (although it's night and past bedtime in my part of the world)! Thank you so much! That happy birthday segment by AURORA was really an exquisite touch. Truly loved it!!! Song fact (quote): AURORA explained the song is a celebration of all the differences in us. "It's about celebrating the women and the children and animals and the men also," she said. "The quiet ones and the introverts, where they can sing and be seen. It's about the shy people and the lonely people and I hope it can be a place where we can come and be lonely together and then not be lonely anymore. Queendom is a place for all of us." The song originated from a conversation AURORA was having with her friends about the change that they wanted to see in the world and what they would change if they were some kind of God :)

Good boy,,,,,,Patreon is always right.....and believe it or not.....this is a hymn and she's so fucking amazing......in my humble opinion she's the Best of the best, the Viking Fairy Queen is absolutely unique, talented, gifted, wise, adorable and freaking cute......completely out of the mainstrean,.......and that is her, pure Love and Magic and the Queendom is a place for all....no matter what and that is how this fucking world should be everybody treated equal no matter what we are different individuals but neverthess equal Peace bro

Thanks for this nice reaction, and for your attention to the lyrics. She is a poet right up there with "the great ones" lyric-wise. A lot of her videos are very creative and artistic, f.ex. Winter Bird, Apple Tree and the River. Not to mention her live performances. Murder Song 54321 from the 2015 Nobel Peace Price Concert is a must, and so is It Happened Quiet from Nidarosdomen. Hope to see more from you soon.

I think the Queendom she is speaking of is an inclusive society, being a benevolent part of it, I corporating more stereotypically female aspects like empathy, nurturing, loving acceptance- but also strong as a warrior mama or soft as the gentlest lamb. This song is about society incorporating more of all humankind into the mix instead of what has previously been considered “acceptable”. By the way, her sister is a designer and does all her outfits/costumes. Yes Aurora took dance for years as a young girl.

I think it's not that she's a queen in that queendom. I think it's a metaphor that she has this place, this home, and she calls it her queendombecause it's secluded from everything that makes this world negative. Her home can be our home as well. She welcomes us in her house/home which she calls queendom. It becomes a queendom because it's a place where everyone prospers, everyone is kind, and everyone backs everyone up. Hence why there's a lyric that says "drink until you've had enough, I'll drink from your hand" it's a place with no queen or authority because everyone is equal. This place is run by empathy and kindness. The song is so selfless and willing and kind. Taking the words "you have a place in MY queendom" in a litrral way as if she's a queen strips the song off it's true meaning which is all about equality, openness, kindness, selflessness and empathy tegardless of skin color, sexuality and standing in life.

This is not a feminine song, lot of people are mistaken, she already explained, name "queendom" is bcoz she's a female, not be a king, kingdom. She said "Her queendom is for everybody who wants be accepted as itself, every race, colour, gays, outsiders, animals.. thats why theres a Black guy and sheep in that video.

Great reaction. A few points. Think her videos are good? Wait until you hear her live. She is simply amazing live. All of her concerts sound great and the recordings are professional. There is a few fan ones to avoid but they usually don't even pop up in the search. Don't be afraid of reaction to the same song in different live performances. She changes them up. I can't remember how many variations of The Seed I have heard. My favorite song is Lucky. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d563mqSIZ8SJd9k Don't be afraid to react to an entire concert. Us Warriors & Weirdos love it when a reactor enjoys her entire performance. People will tell you to watch the Haik concert. It is fantastic. What is great is you watch the documentary that was done before the concert. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSQdpWpgpaEpqs react to the documentary but stop at 35 minute mark. That is when the concert starts but the documentary only shows you some of it and out of order. Why watch and react to the documentary. To get to know our Queen better. The the concert kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqbRkKCfpMl2pdE Be sure to have closed captions turned on. Interpretations of her songs are different for each person and that is what she likes. Song meanings have even changed over the years for her also. She has an unfiltered charming personality so watch her interviews. I could write all night about her but that is all for now. Enjoy your journey my friend. I wish I could rediscover her all over.

Perhaps she is referring to creating a space for the weirdos to be who they are without the constant subjection of disapproval and derision that can and often does come with being different from the restrictive norms of the people and society whose view of how people should be are on bit or more on the narrow side. There is a thirst for a kinder world and few would argue if this comes to pass. More aggression and division are unlikely the goal , that kind of thinking makes the sadness underlying some of Aurora's songs or so or seems reasonable

There will be a judgementday and a weddingday. My King and Savior, my warrior and lamb is Yeshua. He is the Groom and his followers the Bride. Truth will set you free. The Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father, Mighty Councelor, Mighty God.... He is the living water... He died to restore every brokeness before God. God does not hunt the ground for empathy. He knows everything! He gave everything. He payed the price. He died for you. All Glory to God. That is a message worth living and dying for. do not let beautifull lyrics and catching songs deflect you.
