REACTION to BMW M3 Autocross Ride with Jeremy Foley - Fast and Frightening

Season 2019, Episode 11. I rode along on an autocross run in a BMW E93 M3 with Jeremy Foley at the last NTAXS autocross of the season on November 24, 2019. This is probably the scariest autocross ride I've ever had - next to the time I ran over a curb at full speed. That's a story for another time.
This car has power, sound, acceleration, grip, and Jeremy Foley drove it like he stole it. Video concludes with some insightful tips on the realities of uncontrollable variables having an effect on achieving consistent times.

That course was really fast; which means I was going to be slow. I never got the rear tires up to temp so I was sliding around all day. The fronts were fine and had plenty of grip so it made the car feel unbalanced. Probably should have softened up the rear swaybar at lunch but I was hoping the surface would warm up a bit and get some more grip. I don't know if it was the rocks or what, but the afternoon seemed a little slicker than the morning. But after leaving the last two events with a broken car, I was happy to finish out the day running. Jeremy posted his best run on Solostorm and it was a super clean. Its pretty impressive to see the data on the early technical section and how much speed he was able to carry through it. I dont think he touched the brakes for the first 8 seconds of the run.

I agree that the CRX is a tight course car whereas my Evo is an open course car. I've been stomped plenty of times by Miatas and CRXs at Pennington field and the TMS bus lot. I too was struggling in the afternoon. This is the first NTAXS even where I went slower in the afternoon (at least that I can remember). My third run was just 0.520 seconds off Foley but I just couldn't seem to go any faster over the next 5 runs. Foley is a great driver and that M3 really hooks up and rotates very well when you want it to.
